Comments: Bought this rod for my swimbaits and glide baits, it is super light and it cast a mile. I love the handle and the design.

From: MG: MEMPHIS, TN 9/23/23

Comments: Really pleased withe these rods. Target specific uses for 6'11 M and the 7'3 MH Jig Special. Using the shorter rod for bladed jigs. Have also thrown a Wiggle Wart. I got the 7'3 for A-Rigs. Good components and performance. Highly recommend this line of rod.

From: Coach: Shell Knob 1/25/23

Comments: I currently own 2 Lew's Custom Lites in the Bladed Jig and Mag Jig Special models. Let me just say that these rods are my favorite by far. They are the lightest and most sensitive rods in my arsenal when compared to the KVD models (which are still amazing rods). I'm able to throw all day with those rods without fatigue in my arm causing me to stop. The Mag Jig rod which is a 7'2 MH ModFast is the perfect dock skipping rod for me. For the longest time, I wouldn't skip Jigs with a baitcaster but now I've got the perfect rod to load the rod and skip docks effortlessly. The only gripe I have with the rods is the grips deteriorate over time. Very minor detail but could be stronger. Overall, I highly recommend Lew's fans to get this rod. If you're on a budget like I am, save that money to get a little extra then get this rod if you're looking to upgrade.

Comments: ON BLACK FRIDAY BOUGHT 2 OF THE 7'-3" MAG HAMMERS PAIRED THEM WITH LEWS SP REELS. GREAT ROD VERY SENSITIVE PERFECT FOR THE SP REEL SKIPPING UNDER STRUCTURE. 99.9% SATISFIED ONLY THING I DONT LIKE IS WHERE THE HOOK KEEPER IS IN THE HANDLE.

From: WILLIE: ILLINOIS 10/14/22

Comments: Added the 6' 10" MHF to the arsenal and now debating the TW/JB in this line or going with the TP-1 Black. Outstanding rod, just like the Magnum Jig, just shorter, lighter and faster. The rod handle is perfect for kayak anglers, easy to cast and work a bait. This rod paired with a tatula 100 comes very close to 10oz in total weight.

From: Jon: Ontario, Canada 6/15/22

Comments: Love this rod. Bought the 6'11" Bladed Jig model. Actually, have used it for my mid-range crankbaits, Rock Crawlers, Warts, etc. This rod performs very well and no doubt will get some work this spring for its designated use with the bladed jig.

From: Bill: Shell Knob, MO 1/27/22

Comments: In 2018, I replaced all 18 of my rods for these Custom Speed Stick Lite HM85 Casting Rods. I have all the variants of this model coupled with different variants of the Lews speed spool reels. Have never broke a rod during landing a fish or using these for what they were intended for. Ordering more soon to enhance the arsenal even more so. I have 3 of the TP1 models as well and those are awesome sensitivity for crawling and ned rigging. Won't buy anything else but these. No complaints or problems with real seat or fit.

From: Mark: North Alabama 3/17/21

Comments: Just ordered one today. They're great rods!. Easy to handle, great casts and a nice balance. A few months ago I was introduced to the Rod Socks as Tackle Warehouse offered one via promotion. They are a MUST HAVE!. No more tangled lines/lures. It saves so much aggravation from a tangles mess. I love them and now have about 20 or so rods covered nicely in a rod sock. They are a great value and worth every penny!. Those who fish with a few different set-ups for the day will see what a great product they are!. Invest in a few, keep your rods/lures looking new.

From: Patricia: Philadelphia, PA 11/19/20

Comments: Love the feel of these rods. The specific models I have are the 6'10 MH, and the 7'2 H. They're light, sensitive, and got a lot of strength. However, there are two major issues I have with these rods. First the hook keeper. if you look at it you may notice that there actually isn't one until you look at the trigger there is a little hole. Now in my opinion that should never be a place for hooks. Because when I'm reaching down for my rod more times than less I'm gonna grab onto the trigger first and because that is where the hook keeper is, it's just asking for you to get a hook in your finger. Second, the reel seat. I noticed that with smaller reels and when I am fighting a fish. The reel isn't completely secure and slides up and down a little bit. I think it is because of how they cut out the part of where the reel gets tightened down. It's not an issue with slightly bigger reels like a tatula 200 or lews bb1, but it is a very unsettling feeling because it almost feels like the reel is about to go flying into the water. The specific reels I had this problem with were the 13 fishing concept c and the shimano curado 70. With that being said I think these are phenomenal rods in terms of weight, price, feel, and sensitivity. But those two issues could be a make or break deal. If you can overlook those two problems then this a great rod for the price. But if you can't than I would suggest a daiwa tatula bass rod or 13 fishing omen 3.

From: Jeremy 10/10/20

Comments: I took a dice roll on 7'3" Magnum Jig - I love fishing soft plastics/jigs, never used Lew's before and got it cause it was 50% off. For comparison, it's lighter than my Fury 735c and just slightly heavier than my 7" Zodias. I'm not a huge fan of the Dobyn's reel seat, this one is kind of softex feel, more ergonomic and bigger exposure to the blank underneath. It doesn't like Daiwa reels though, I feel a slight amount of play even after tightening it down as much as possible. Also, the hook keeper has to be a joke, it's built into the trigger, seems like a great place to get a jig hook stuck in your finger - lookup: EzKeeper. The zodias (spin.) has a distinct all plastic reel seat, and I love the feel of it, and I share the same sentiment for the Winn grips. It's a treat to pick up, cast and when you're on, you feel connected to your catch. I cannot say good things about how good this rod feels in the hands. If I can find another at the same price point, I might never go back to Dobyns. Rod's rated up to 1oz and I've tossed some 1.50z+ baits and it will do it in a pinch but I won't recommend it.

From: Jon: Ontario, Canada 5/20/20

Comments: I was careless and through this in the back of my boat without thinking and it flew out the back only getting saved by a strap on the boat. The rod got dragged about a mile on pavement and gravel with the tip bouncing up and down til I could pull over. There was no scratch on this rod and the tip was in perfect condition. Lews has made an amazing rod. My only complaint is how stiff the 7' mh is but it is really strong.

From: Unknown 4/27/20

Comments: Super rare for me, but I like this rod so much that when I broke mine (my fault) I bought another. Oh if you only knew how rare that is for me to buy the same rod. I picked out the 7'3 MH  it's one of my all time favorite jig rods when paired with a Lews hyper mag. Highly recommend!

From: Dean: Las Vegas, NV 1/28/20

Comments: Got the 7'3 jig special and it is a workhorse. The tip has a little flex in it and I have found I can use this rod for multiple applications. I got it paired with the Lew's LFS 7 ratio reel and 15 pound flouro. It excels with swim jigs, 4-5 inch paddletails/3/8oz head, and spinnerbaits. Great reel and well worth the money. Was trying quantam and sixgill and I am sticking with Lew's.

From: Billy: Mississippi 11/13/19

Comments: Bought the 7'MH F Magnum Bass and paired with the Team Lews Custom Pro casting reel. Running 20lb braid to 10lb mono. This pole is the jack of all trades. It's great with chatterbaits, jigs, crankbaits, shakey heads, spinners, senkos, small swimbaits, and most topwater baits. If I can only bring one baitcaster combo, i'm bringing this one.

From: Jake: Roseville, CA 7/8/19

Comments: Just purchased the 7'2" Mag heavy grass model and all i can say is AWESOME!!!  I have read other reviews that this rod is "very stiff" well mine is also BUT it's meant to be.  You hook up unto a nice size bass and it heads down into the thick nasty mats of weeds, grass and/or submerged timber/brush you'll wish you didn't have a softer rod. This rod offers a very heavy backbone for just this reason to get those fish out of that heavy cover and into your hands. This makes landing fish easier and is less stress in the fish. YES fish get stressed out also.  This rod is 100% perfect.  Just wish it had a Made in USA sticker instead of made in China. Oh well still a very nice rod regardless.  Don't care for the trigger hook keeper though.  Would rather have a standard hook keeper on rod blank instead.  Not a big deal just personal preference. Lew's and many other rod company's have come a long way in rod making.  What's in the future?  We'll just have to see.  Something to look forward to.All and all I would HIGHLY recommend this particular rod for all frog fisherman!  Perfect size, power, weight and balance.

From: Jason: Ohio  2/4/19

Comments: I purchased the 6'11" bladed jig/squarebill rod. The rod is very nice and balanced and has a all around greate feel for. I primarily used this for bladed jigs but after a hand full of fish and cast it snapped between the bottom and second from bottom guide right in the meat of the rod. No biggy warranty it received one free with awsome service amd fast shipping and i opened it up and the trigger peice on the handle was broke and i mean broke clean so kinda doubt it was packaged correctly. with that said i would not recommend this rod at the price point thats just ti much for a rod that should be a strong work horse bit but clearly there is some issues in manufacturing at this time sorry but thumbs down

From: Matt - 9/19/18

Comments: I'm a believer! For the longest time I snubbed these rods. I always used St.Croix or Gloomis. After getting a gift card, I decided to buy one and I'm so impressed. Super light, very sensitive and great grips. I liked them so much, I purchased three more. Give them a try, you'll be impressed!

From: Chris: Virginia 6/13/18

Comments: I've been fishing with Lew's rods for quite some time now and I've fished dobyn's, loomis, and a few other high end rods, the lew's Is as light as any rod I've used and super sensitive as I always tell people the only thing u have to remember is that Lew's rods has a stiffer feel than others so if u normally use a hvy/fast I suggest trying a mh/m or mh/mf with Lew's! Just trying to help some guys out! This rod definitely gets 5 stars in my book.

From: Darren: Mangham, LA 2/10/18

Comments: At the beginning of 2017 bass season, I bought the 7'6" Heavy/Fast HM85 to replace another Lew's rod that I broke (100 % my fault and I did cry a little).  It is an amazing fishing rod.  I flip a T-Rig with it.  That's what I bought it for and it is incredible.  For a heavy action rod, very lightweight and sensitive.  I have it paired with a Lew's LFS Speed Spool, 7.5:1 ratio, 65lb braid (PP moss green).  Could not ask for a better set up.  If I need to flip a light weight or punch through, it's awesome.  The Winn grip just adds to the comfort.  Worth every penny.

From: Jeff: Canada 1/25/18

Comments: So I've been all over the board trying to find a versatile rod which is light, semi stout, and has a sensitive tip, I found one in the hammer.  I've enjoyed using it on 1/2-3/4 oz football heads, to 1/2-3/8 oz pitching jigs, to even weightless senkoes and Texas rigs.  All of those things I want to detect a strike right away and still have the power to pull out of the semi thick stuff.  I'd highly recommend that one in particular.  I have purchased the mag flip and still working on the best cases, but have used it for punching and like it quite a bit.  Love the grips, but the sensitive blank is the best feature.

From: Luke: Mn 9/27/17

Comments: Recently purchased this rod in a 7'3" Mag Hammer, one word - amazing! Extremely light weight, very sensitive, sexy as hell. Paired this with a Lew's Custom Speed Spool Cast reel, I could not ask for a better combo. One of my best, Lew's has great products - don't think just buy.

From: Unknown - 7/24/17

Comments: Really nice rods. only issue is like playing golf in the rain, nobody likes the grips when wet on a golf club. Also, I wish these had a regular hook hanger instead of on the trigger. Great blanks though!

From: Jordan: 7/13/16

Comments: I bought 2 of these in 7'3" Mag Hammer a few weeks ago. I paired them up with the Lew's Pro G reels & wow what an awesome combo! These rods are light & very sensitive. Will be buying more for sure.

4/27/16

Comments: I have used and abused many high end rods and unequivocally, these are the best rods for the money I have ever owned. I loved it so much I switched out all my rods top to bottom with this model. I own 10 (7 casting & 3 spinning) & every single one of them is my favorite rod. They are tough, light, and sensitive-grips are dynamite as well... you cannot go wrong for 170 bucks

From: Clinton: Orem, UT 3/24/16

Comments: It is a very sensitive. I can feel light bites through the reel seat. The only thing that bothers me is a little bit of epoxy on the blank & also a guide that is bent further towards the blank. Lew's needs to change their manufacturing facility.

From: Mike: USA 2/29/16

Comments:  I just received my 7' 2" H. It measures 7' 2.25" exactly, is 4.8 oz on postal scale. Very nice looking, without any build flaws. I wanted a heavy for pitching in cover, but I will likely exchange this one for a MH. The H is super stout - far more stout than a 7 power Falcon Cara, or a 5 power Dobyns, if that helps. When you test the tip on the carpet it doesn't have a soft tip at all - have to push in to it to bend that dude at all. It's the MAGNUM GRASS rod, just like they said & I should of listened. Nice rod, seems crisp and sensitive from just handling it. If I had to say on balance, I felt it was a little tip heavy, but only slightly. On the MH I'm guessing that wouldn't be noticeably to me.

From: Mark: Gardner, KS 9/11/15

Comments: This is one of the best looking rods I've ever seen and held. The Magnum jig rod is stout, the Hammer is a versatile spinnerbait, fluke, Texas rig, kinda rod. My only worry is the grip feels GREAT when it's dry but when wet, feels slippery. I'm not sure how this will be over time and in the winter cold months? Other than that, really nice rods.
