Overview

Built for all species of gamefish in any type of environment, the Lunkerhunt Gambit Swimbait delivers a one-of-kind swimming action that works extremely well in both freshwater and saltwater. Featuring a hollow body design similar to a frog, the Lunkerhunt Gambit Swimbait is completely weedless, which allows anglers to fish it through vegetation, brush, laydowns, and rocks without snagging. It is also made from a super soft yet extremely durable plastic that allows the body to collapse and deploy the internal 5/0 jig hook as soon as a fish strikes for rock solid hooksets.

Fish it through cover or in open water, the Lunkerhunt Gambit Swimbait is molded with a segmented tail that produces an incredible swimming action at both high and low speeds. Offered in a wide selection of freshwater and saltwater forage base colors, the Lunkerhunt Gambit Swimbait provides unmatched realism and performance that can be used in places where no other swimbait has ever gone before.

Comments: I bought one and did catch a nice snook on it but the problem is that it's a one fish lure! it was destroyed easily tearing the whole top of the lure. I do think the lure has amazing action but the problem is that it's not meant for dock fishing either.

From: Angel: FL 2/10/23

Comments: Catches fish but is not durable. It's great for fishing docks because of how easily it skips and how easily it comes through cover, but it tears after only a few fish. Mine ripped on the 3rd fish but was able to fix it with some mend it, but ripped in half after the 4th fish. Overall it's a decent bait but it's definitely not worth $10.

Comments: 10/10 in terms of weedlessness and ability to catch fish. 1/10 in terms of durability. I've had 3 of them and 1 of the three caught 2 fish before ripping apart, the other 2 only lasted 1 fish before ripping apart (largemouth bass).

From: Matt: Illinois 6/6/22

Comments: Would be worth it if they came in a 3 pack for $5.99.$8 for one is a complete rip off for something of incredibly poor quality.Works well for one fish, beyond that not so much.

From: Rob D: Lewistown, PA 10/15/20

Comments: Zero bites and second cast I was left with just the head. Bait looks great but not worth buying again due to quality.

From: Brandon: Mulberry 7/21/20

Comments: Got this and was really excited about it. Tested in the shallows and it looked great. Then after the second fish I noticed like others that it was swimming sideways. Needless to say I kept the belly hook and tossed the plastic. For almost 8$ it should deff last a little longer than two dink fish.

From: Clint: Cornersville, TN 7/18/20

Comments:I was looking forward to buying this bait as soon as lunkerhunt released it. Sad to say it was a major disappointment. After about 15 casts and no fish I reeled my bait in and there must have been a giant RIP in the first seam closest to the head that holds the joints together. So I casted it again not knowing this and when I reeled my bait in, all I had was the head section. Take note I had 0 bites and was only 15 or so bites in. Bad quality bait. I hope lunkerhunt improves it in the future. Another downsize is the paint. I have no clue what they use to paint these things but it cracks super easily. Will not be buying again.

From: Sam: Illinois 4/12/20

Comments:Paint did start rubbing off after about an hour of fishing. Swims good, is definitely weedless and catches fish. Overall I would recommend it.

From: Chad: South Carolina 1/19/20

Comments: These baits look great in the water, but they do have a very strong smell. I love the action of them and caught two bass in my first ten casts. Unfortunately, the plastic around the hook gashed open and the bait started swimming sideways. I hope Mend it will fix these, as I love the way they fish, but I haven't tried any yet. Bottom line is great action, but very soft plastic and not very durable.

Comments: Man, when I first saw these unveiled at ICAST, I was beyond stoked. They looked incredible in the videos, so I've been keeping an eye out for when these finally hit the market. I picked up 3 different colors, and I'll be sending them back. The baits I got STUNK with whatever they use to make these, plus the finish on these is garbage. Just by looking at them, I could see more cracks in the paint/skin than I could any other detail. I didn't want to take one out of the package, but I did just to get a better look at it. Yup. They're not painted. It's a THIN layer of what looks like a hydro-dip skin on these, and they're terribly done. There's more cracks on the skin and finish than there are on any street in the USA. They're incredibly soft and will collapse if you as much as breathe on them, so that's a plus. If anyone is wondering, there is a Kevlar-like material running through the entire bait, so it won't rip apart after one bite, which is a relief. I'm hoping they come out with an improved version of these later on down the road, but I'm not very happy with what I saw, smelled and felt.

From: Steven: Indiana 1/9/20

Comments:This bait has great action whether burned, or a steady quick retrieve. Does not work well with a moderate or slow retrieve. Runs extremely balanced and true. I basically fish this like I do the Bull Shad. The difference is, this bait is weedless. So it will go places other treble hook baits can't go. Give the fish an extra moment before setting the hook when burning to help increase hookup ratio. Plastic is very soft and will tear around the hook. So just be aware of that when fishing.

From: Garrett: Mesa, AZ 1/5/20

Comments:Action on steady retrieve is great but out of the time package it reeks of whatever it's made with. Suggest letting it air out awhile before fishing it.
