Overview

Taking realism to a whole new level, the Lunkerhunt Hollow Body Phantom Spider looks as good as it fishes. Featuring a hollow body weedless design similar to a hollow body frog, the Lunkerhunt Hollow Body Phantom Spider is equipped with walking legs that glide and twitch as the bait is worked across the surface. It also features a self-righting ballast in its sternum to ensure a consistent natural action that sits upright every time.

The Lunkerhunt Hollow Body Phantom Spider is great for the warmer months when more spiders are out patrolling near shallow water looking for food making them an easy target for big fish. Offered in a selection of colors that imitate the most common spiders, the Lunkerhunt Hollow Body Phantom Spider not only looks cool but catches big fish as well.

Comments: Be cool if it floated. Pain in the butt to fish. If one Lilly pad pulls it under is no longer floating. Caught fish but pain to use.

Comments: Great early spring top water when the fish just start to get up shallow. Caught me a 21.5" 5lber which for norther Michigan is a frickin pig along with 15 or so other nice fish that day untill a pike took it. However this bait does not hold up at all, I've had 5 of them and finally stopped buying more because you only get maybe 1 good day of fishing before they start to rip and sink rapidly. If your willing to buy one for each use then its a great bait

Comments: I bought one, and after 10 fish, the plug that has the legs attached got ripped off by the fish. I ended up buying two more yesterday, and they also got destroyed. The idea is awesome and the action is amazing. But the durability needs some improvements.  I started super gluing around the plug to hold the legs on.

From: Brian: Wisconsin 8/7/21

Comments: First off this thing is quite a bit bigger than you'd think, nevertheless they look amazingly realistic in the water. I haven't tested the durability on it though I bought the small size I'd say worth the money on sale but I don't know about full price.

From: Nathan: Durham, NC 1/27/21

Comments: Havent caught bass with it, but lemme tell ya, if your trying to catch bullfrogs, this is it! The frogs litterally swim a ways to get this thing!

From: Matthew: California 8/17/20

Comments: I purchased the of these last year and just recently had the opportunity to try them. It performed pretty well, but I had to continually squeeze the water from the body so it would float. After catching three bass on it the legs feel off in the lily pads. Poor design and durability, but I love the idea. Hopefully they will improve them on the next revision.

From: Jim: Lucasville, Ohio 7/20/20

Comments: Great idea, terrible execution. First off.....it sinks, no matter what you do to it, it still sinks. Secondly, the legs fall off. Need to go back to the drawing board.

From: Unknown - 6/2/20

Comments: The 2 inch spider was a great idea. Very good design but the construction is poor. The legs come off after a couple of fish and the lure sinks head first after a couple of casts. It's truly a a pity because this lure is a fish catcher and works excellent when targeting smallmouth. Looking forward to see what improvements were made on the 2.25 inch design.

Comments: Interesting lure. I've found it works best casting on dry shore line - and slowly working it to the boat. I've only caught 4 to date .. but 3 of the 4 were shore line ( in the dirt ) to boat .. hook sets are solid - they all choke on the spider .. i went with dock color

From: Ross: Lake Mead 9/27/19

Comments: TERRIBLE!    First cast it sank, 2nd cast it sank, 3rd cast the appendages fell off.... DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THESE.

From: Patrick: Austin 9/25/19

Comments: Awesome lure, great for bank fishing next to reeds.

From: Ryan: Texas 9/25/19

Comments: This is awesome, the action is amazing. It will catch fish, for sure. The problem with it is the durability. After multiple strikes, the legs can get torn off, and the plastic torn up. It will start to take on water and sink. The plastic material is very soft and supple, which is great for the action. But just know, after a few fish it starts to break down. It's a good tool to have for those finesse bites that wont touch a frog, but it won't last too long. For 10 bucks is it worth it? You decide.

From: Dave: Louisville, KY 9/21/19

Comments: DO NOT BUY THIS LURE. Before the thing even touched water the legs detached from the body. It looks good but VERY low quality, save yourself $9.

From: Nate: Arkansas 9/19/19

Comments: Great concept. BUT the legs fall off... It does work.. but they need to figure out the legs staying attached.

From: Unknown: 9/18/19

Comments: I deem this lure as Eye Candy! It will certainly catch angler's wallets. Not saying it didn't catch me a 7 lb snakehead, but for the value, I could get plenty of other lures.  Here are some issues: Due to the odd shape, it doesn't cast very far. Being a quarter ounce doesn't help either and neither does having the weight in the center of the lure. Most hollow body lures have weights at the end of the lure so it can cast far and accurate. This is certainly not the case. So far 100% hook up ratio for me as I have landed 3 snakeheads with some minor cuts. Surprisingly haven't been destroyed yet, but it might be just luck.

From: Jimmy: NJ 9/18/19

Comments: It may be a "surface lure" but it sure doesn't act like it. It starts sinking after hardly any time in the water. I was hoping that it would act more as a frog and float along as I slowly retrieved it.

*looks amazing

* nice on water action

Went on the lake on my kayak opened up the brand new 6 Spot Phantom Spider package and tied it on. On the 3rd cast the legs fell off ......speechless

From: Charlie - Massachusetts 9/4/19

Comments: Unique topwater action.  Perfect action in the right environment, its been a fish catcher for me.

From: James: AR 9/11/19

Comments: It leaks, great idea but it started sinking after the second cast. Blue gills swipe at it so I'm sure it will catch bass maybe even if it's slightly submerged. It would be much better if it didn't take on water.

From: Chuck: North Bergen 9/15/19

Comments: Great potential for this Lure. Horribly put together. MUST reinforce by adding a good glue to the base with the legs and the hollow body before using or you WILL lose the legs. Amazing action in the water and over obstacles. Drives the fish crazy. A must have in your arsenal. Mine unfortunately came apart after catching just one fish. Highly disappointed.

From: Anibal: NY 9/3/19

Comments: This lure works. Period. I received mine in the dock spider color last week. Hit the water last evening for a short time. It was only a few casts in when a nice largemouth inhaled the thing. I recommend fishing it near structure like branches or cat tails. Highly recommend the phantom spider.

From: Terry: Binghamton, NY 9/1/19

Comments: Worked and looked amazing for about a 1/2 hour. After catching a 2 lb Bass (the only fish on it), the base separated from the hollow body on the very next cast. I was very impressed with it up until that point. Looks like they went cheap on the glue that holds it together from what I can see. I expected better from a $9 lure. Guess now I have to spend more money on a better glue to reinforce it. Hope it works.

From: Anibal: NY 8/30/19

Comments: This thing is awesome caught 4 five pounders on consecutive casts
