Overview

Delivering key innovations designed by some of the best anglers in the business, the Missile Baits “The 48” Worm offers the perfect combination of shape, action, function, and durability. Featuring a straight body with two bulbous ends and a skinny mid section, the 48 Worm produces a seductive shimmying action as is falls through the water column. Because of the 48’s unique shape, it can be rigged weightless Texas-style, wacky-rigged, or Neko-rigged with a nail weight in the head. The 48 Worm can also be cut in half to give anglers two baits that are the perfect size for rigging on a small jig head for the rapidly growing Ned Rig technique.

Made from a dense soft plastic that is loaded with salt for a steady and consistent rate-of-fall, it also makes fish hold on longer once they strike for better hook sets. Available in a range of amazing colors just like all the Missile Baits “The 48” Worm is an extremely effective worm that is sure to become your new favorite soft plastic.

Perfect-Sized MasterpieceI like to fish this worm Texas style. I love it because it's too big for the bluegill and green sunfish to mess with. And it doesn't tear like a Senko or Yum Dinger. I use a Gamakatsu 3/0 G-lock Worm Hook and a small tungsten slip sinker. Sometimes I even fish it with the flat side up if I am too lazy to put on a new one. Doesn't seem to matter. There are usually 1 or 2 bent ones that you can't use in each pack of 8.

The Great Fourty EightLet's get this straight...fish the fourty eight. It's nice on a wacky rig, the fish you catch will be really big. Be sure to use a strong hook or a big one won't give you a second look.

Buy some but...Little hint here from your ole Uncle Meaty: you want this bait to fall with the flat side down. So rig accordingly.

Comments: Another positive review for this bait. I had a bag in Green Pumpkin laying around so I took them with me to a local pond. I wacky rigged them and they worked. They fall nice and slow. They don't go flying when you are fighting a fish. I dipped the tips in a little chart dye and was good to go.

Comments: Simply said, these are worms are absolute $$$$. Great action and very durable. When you wacky rig no need to use any O-ring. It is the only worm I throw. Rig it wacky with a flick shake hook and hold on !!!!!!

From: Kent: Texas 8/5/21

Comments: I recieved these in a gift bag of assorted baits.  One day on the lake I ran out of senkos. I grabbed these in watermelon red color, wacky rigged it and the bites started coming. I think they have a better action then senkos and they hold up much better. Wacky, shaky head, c-rig, Texas rig ....it works . Here's a tip (shad spawn) milk money!!

From: Brian: Denver, NC 4/13/21

Comments: I have always used the Gary Yamamoto senkos, but lately I have been running low, so I decided to try them. I would catch around 10 nice bass before it would rip/tear. Unlike other companies would rip after a fish or two. I have also never seen a senko that flexible with soo much durability. Overall I REALLY suggest these soft plastics to you! From now on I will only use these senkos.

Comments: This has become the only worm or stickbait i throw. It's magic. Literally put away all my senkos. I usually fish weightless Texas rigged, the only slight negative is the pour is really thick, which is good, so if it's truly TR hooksets can be tough, i usually textpose it a little bit, you might get hung up a little more but i get the hookpoint just out of the plastic, dramatically increases hookup ratios.

Comments: This is my new go to stick bait, I have had a TON of success on theses worms. Super durable and super versatile, I mainly throw weightless texas rig and wacky rig. Milk Money, Bruiser Flash and Green Pumpkin have been getting it done.

Comments: Wacky, Neko, shakey, and whatever else.  These do it all.  Perfect on the wacky, great on the Neko, great on the  shakey and usable for just about anything else.  My only gripe is the limited colors.  Need a Blue Fleck option.

Comments: Quite honestly I feel as though this may be the best soft plastic bait ever made. Durability is great; the price is great and the quality of the bait is great. I started out using this for a Wacky Rig and a Ned Rig but quickly found out that it is so much more than just that. Being a Finesse only fisherman I have found this to be the perfect all-around bait. No need to carry different baits for each Finesse technique; this baits covers them all. At first it doesn't appear as if there are many colors available but let me tell you; there are plenty. I tried numerous colors and was able to quickly narrow it down to black, super bug and fishalicious. Just these three colors cover just about any type of situation I might find here in PA. I sold a lot of different baits in my tackle bag once I discovered this bait. Seriously; if you carry this and their Fuse 4.4 you have every single Finesse technique covered. Missile Baits deserves an A+ for this bait; they absolutely nailed it with this one. I recommend you just buying one pack to try them; next thing you know you'll own about 50 packs of them like I do. Check out the Missile Baits FB page; they are running an awesome series on 48 ways ot rig the 48........good stuff! Kudos to John Crews for this design.

Comments: Excellent on a shakey head. Very good durability and scent

From: Andy: Arkansas 10/31/17

Comments: Ive really got into the 48 since Missle Baits has come out with the 48 ways series on Facebook, very versitale bait!

From: Peter: Greensboro, NC 10/26/17

Comments: Only soft stick bait I've seen that vibrates your rod when you pull it up when wacky rigged. Has a killer pulsing action on the fall with a 1/16oz wacky jighead. A true gamechanger, fish choke em. Milk money color is money! The two tone white and green has killer flash in the water! The options are endless with this bait.

From: Unknown 10/7/17

Comments: By far the most versatile soft plastic bait I have ever put on a hook. The 48 has SO MANY options to use when fishing it. I have had success with the 48 rigged in several different styles, Texas rigged , weightless Texas style, Texas with glass bead, Carolina rigged, and wacky rig.  Get some and try it and you wont be disappointed I promise.

From: Heath: Kentucky 8/21/17

Comments: The 48 is a sweet bait! I know Missile makes me throw out something because the next bait is so good. The 48 is making me throw out my Senkos. The price is better. The action is every bit as good and they are more durable! I caught a 4 pounder on my 3rd cast with it on a wacky rig. Thank you, Missile Baits.

From: Jeff Williams: Tennessee 8/2/17

Comments: Awesome stick bait! It really works good wacky rigging it on a weighted hook and pitching into beds. It also works great on a shaky head! Worth your time to try them!

From: Unknown 7/31/17

Comments: I love these. Yet another great product from Missile Baits. I've already won some money with these. Works good with shakeyheads, T-rigs, C-rigs and my favorite wacky rigged. Skip really well under docks and like all Missile Baits they are very durable. Super Bug has been my most productive color.

From: Kyle: Texas 7/29/17

Comments:  Very versatile for a stick worm. The fall is unlike anything in the industry.  From deadsticking it weightless up shallow to dragging it on a stand up head offshore, the 48 catches em!

From: Unknown 7/29/17

Comments: These are the real deal!!  They have an awesome pulsing action when you wacky rig them. Also a great flipping and shakeyhead bait. Rig them on a weighted swimbait hook and the tail pulses as it falls horizontally. Really unique!!

From: Unknown 7/28/17

Comments: This bait is the real deal! has the pulsating fall and you can catch numbers on one bait!!! LOVE IT!! Thank you Missle Baits!

From: Paul Ricardo: FL 7/27/17

Comments: Perfect bait.  Fall rate is perfect.  Stronger than a senko and you can skip and cast it better. Works awesome if cut in half for a ned rig.  When it falls it has the best Shimmy I've ever seen.  Amazing how they put so much thought into something so simple.

From: Gerald: Gonzales 7/27/17

Comments: Not a lot to say about this bait other than it is by far the best bait ever made! This is the best possible bait you can have rigged up wacky style (whether weighted or unweighted). I also cut this bait in half and throw on a mushroom head for a Ned Rig. I have been out on the water three times so far with this bait and have caught bass on very tough lakes in very warm water. I caught a beautiful 4+ this past weekend rigged as a Ned Rig. A bass that size on the lake that I was on is pretty incredible. I also caught numerous 2+ on this rigged wacky style as well. This is one of the most versatile baits on the market. Love the "48"!
