Comments: I've owned the 7'11" heavy mod fast for a year now and have put it through the ringer. It's a very durable, quality swimbait rod, especially for the price. I use that specific model for throwing top water swimbait such as rats, bucca bull wakes, etc. That mod fast taper keeps the fish pinned and it's very sensitive. The fish basically hook themselves.

Comments: I've had the the heavy for about a year now it works great only complaint I have is that the very last guide broke and shredded my line on a cast sending my lure flying

From: Ian: Missouri 1/15/21

Comments: Another great rod from Okuma at an incredible price. The heavy is very similar to what was their shadow stalker 8' heavy. This does have a very optimistic lure rating. Threw a 8" pulse tail mullet a couple times and it felt overloaded. I'd say 1-2 oz is it's ideal range but could go down to 1/2 and up to 4 if you had to. It is a little tip heavy but not in a bad way. The moderate action is nice yet still very sensitive.

Comments: These are great rods! I have had mine 2yrs with no issues. They are very durable with very good guides. I own the xh and the lure rating is very accurate. I primarily throw 10-12" baits with it for stripers, but have also thrown 2oz lures with this rod with no issues. Sometimes I complain about the weight of this rod because it is heavy. If you are throwing 8-10oz baits only, I'd go with the xxh.

Comments: Great rod.. the folks at okuma really get it make a great rod for a specific task listening to what we want as anglers.. the 7'11" h is perfect for treble hook baits and 6" hidden although you can fish the 8 on it but you should use braid because the rod has a mod fast bend but it is perfect well balanced and tough no guide issues no issues at all except for the one or 2 days without getting bit.. big baiters no what I'm saying
