Comments: This case is great! I've been to El Salto, a couple of times, and after the first trip, my rod worries went away knowing that everything will be fine. I carry 8 rods down but I think one could fit 12 rods, in this case, or more! It is large and roomy. You have to remove the reels then I wrap the rods in pairs making sure the tips of each rods do not extend past the butt end of the other rod, to protect it. After I get the 4 pairs wrapped, I bundle them all together. The first time, I bubble wrapped around the bundle in 3 places, to keep the rods centered inside the case. After that trip, I cut some 4" thick black speaker foam, cut a two inch hole out of the center and a slit to the center, as to open it up and slip it over my bundle of rods. I glued some Velcro to each side of the slit, which may not be needed, but it sure makes my rods very secure, inside of this awesome case. There may be better case out there, not sure, I've been very happy with this case and have no need to look further.

Comments: I have had one of these rod cases for a couple of years and have never used it. I just got it out again, hoping to use it, and recalled what's wrong with it. It's heavy. It's made of heavy plastic, which could be good, but it is mostly heavy because it is built around the idea of possibly carrying long one piece rods. So, when you just want a case for carrying a couple of two piece rods, you have all the unneeded weight for allowing it to telescope. It is a total of three pieces. The handle is placed so as to have it balance when fully telescoped. When shortened to hold two piece rods, the handle is positioned so the case is annoyingly off balance. Thirdly, it should have a screw off cap. Instead it has a closed end. It requires you to put your rods into the outer case and slide the next two telescopes in on top of them without being able to see what is going on. Terrible design. I'm trying to decide right now whether to throw it into the recycling bin. The only reason I'm on this site right now is I'm trying to find a better case.
