Comments: this rod is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. gets heavy use/rotation as utility rod. handles everything from small t-rigged baits on 10-12 lb line (often toss a 3.5 inch tube with 1/8 ounce weight) up to large, heavy deep diving crankbaits like the strike king 10XD. flip, pitch, cast... even pair it with braid and fish frogs in the cheese. oh yes, and swimbaits. magdrafts, gantarels... super rod... plenty of backbone, ultra-sensitive.

Comments: I recently bought the 7'6" mag medium heavy and I must say that I am blown away. It is light, sensitive, and the perfect action for a "utility" rod. I have thrown Carolina rigs, lighter and heavier Texas rigs and 4/6in swimbaits. This rod handles it all. I will definitely be buying more Powell's in the future.

Comments: Where are the reviews on this series of rods? You see they are always sold out. There is a good reason they fly out the door as soon as they come in. I have the 7'3" Heavy Fast Action. It has the best taper and tip of any rod I have ever owned and I have had A LOT of big name rods that are priced 100 or more above this price point. I can't over state how good this rod is. It's hard to believe it's priced under 200. Do yourself a favor and try this rod!

Comments: I bought the MAX 7'MH EF directly from Powell before they were available here. It's an excellent rod. The taper is just right, which makes it load up perfectly. Which results in more accurate casting. I'm placing lures in tight spaces with confidence. Even though I had an Edge rod(First Strike 7'MH F) that was supposed to be better, it was heavier and did not load up well. I couldn't place lures nearly as accurately. It just wasn't very fishable. I sold it and am not looking back.
