Dependable, adaptable, and fearless, the Rapala Crush City The Mayor Swimbait is the leader of Crush City and a swimbait you can leave tied on all season long to handle almost any situation on any body of water. Designed by Major League Fishing pro Jacob Wheeler, the Rapala Crush City The Mayor Swimbait features a flat-sided body and boot tail that produces a subtle kicking action to entice nearly any bass into biting. Molded with top and bottom hook slot channels, it's easy to rig perfectly weedless so anglers can fish through the nastiest of cover where big fish often hide.
Using Smart Injection Technology, each bait combines custom combinations of color, flake, salt, and scent that are added precisely where needed for the perfect presentation. Available in a gamut of colors, the Rapala Crush City The Mayor Swimbait is great for jig heads, belly-weighted swimbait hooks, umbrella rigs, or as a trailer on your favorite jig or spinnerbait.
Catches fishI caught 7 fish in a row right off my dock no one else was catching fish so my brother had to switch to the mayor and he caught 5 fish in 6 casts

Just a little different….I like these from an action point of view. Nice deep bodied profile paired with a fairly subdued tail kick. You can rig them any way you do a Keitech Fat but I really like them on a A-rig. Just something a little different from what most guys throw on it and seems to work well on pressured fish. Fairly durable too especially if you use a spring lock jighead. The 3” and 3.5” sizes are money, 4” is good if you’re imitating smaller gizzard or big threadfin

CaveatIf you find the right jig for this the action is incredible. I put this on a few jigs and the action was terrible. But on the damiki rig and a scrounger it was amazing.

Great SwimbaitGreat downsize swim jig trailer especially the 3.0 & 3.5 inch on a Bitsy flip jig when fish are keyed in on small threadfin Shad. It matches the profile perfectly just fish it like a Swimjig.

Speckled TroutI fish the Gulf Coast (Galveston).
The trout (speckled trout) were really keying in on the menhaden (shad) this Spring and I was looking for a shad imitation to use. I picked some up in white and the white/chartruese…. All I can say is that they work extremely well while just slow rolling them. I don’t know if it’s the softness of the bait, the tail wiggle mimicking a shad tail wiggle or a combination of both… but they produce. I have had guys come up close while wading just to try and see what I was using…. On multiple occasions. It’s actually become quite comical how well this lure produces and how bad other anglers want to find it what you are using. I turned my buddies on to them as well and they see the difference too with a lot more fish landed. The only downside…. We are fishing for speckled trout which have teeth and tear the mayor up pretty good. If I could change one thing about this lure it would be to make it a bit more durable while retaining its softness and action. But hey, It’s producing and producing extremely well….
Thumbs up here!
