Very DissatisfiedScale seemed to work great all fall. Had my boat in storage with this scale inside of the glovebox through winter. Just pulled the scale out to measure a fish that I caught yesterday and it doesn't work! Put fresh batteries and it still doesn't work! I don't understand what happened but I'm very dissatisfied with this product!!!!!!!

Previous Feedback

Comments: Straight out of box I put in batteries and it powered up. A few hours later while fishing I took it out of my bag to use and it would not start up. I have since tried new batteries and nothing. It will not power up. This was a waste of $40. This scale was highly recommended by a few friends I fish with. I'm very disappointed needless to say, I have been looking for a reliable scale for some time now and thought this one would be it but it is not.

From: Juan: Conroe, TX 2/26/23

Comments: The reviews aint lying, hopefully, I can return them. The garbage scale worked once now the weight just goes up even without a fish on it.

From: Matthew: TX 1/30/23

Comments: Garbage. Supposed to be easy to read but even with fresh batteries you have to hold it at an angle to even see what's on the screen. Weights seem to be way off as well. Works as a great bottle opener though.

From: Unknown: 8/9/22

Comments: Would not recommend, works if fish doesn't move, if it does unit turns off. After one season quit working all together

From: Unknown: 2/9/22

Comments: GARBAGE, worked once and then quit when I needed it.  Don't waste your money on this pos.

From: Zach: Florida 12/5/21

Comments: Dropped in water now won˙t power up. Would target more dependable unit the reviews don't lie.

From: Jeff: Flower mound texas 10/14/21

Comments: I so desperately wanted this to be a scale that added value to one's fishing. unfortunately, I must echo the sentiments of all the previous reviews... DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! When it worked, the screen display during the day is a way better than the Rapala Touch Screen Tournament Scale 15lb. The ease of adding and removing weights (if weights were accurate) was awesome, but, make sure each fish is weighed a few times before locking in the weight... The first few trips the scale did work, but now it is a complete mission to get the unit to power on... and good luck getting it to power off once you have finished using it. An auto power-off option built into the unit would have removed at least one frutration!!

From: Clinton: South Africa 9/2/21

Comments: I've had mine for years. Batteries lasted about 3 years before I had to replace. No issues whatsoever! And it has a beer bottle opener.

From: Josh: Omaha, NE 8/2/21

Comments: I got this scale as a replacement for another junk scale Rapala sold me. It worked good for a few trips and then the digital readout stopped working.  If you are considering buying one of these, save yourself the trouble and dont.

From: Unknown: 7/23/21

Comments: Loved this scale when it worked. It stopped working after a few weeks. It tried to power up and shuts off immediately. I've tried a bunch of new batteries. No luck getting it to work.

From: Jeremy: Canyon Lake, TX 7/19/21

Comments: Simply terrible. Fogs up and stops working with only the humidity in the air.  Useless.

From: Bob: Danville 4/17/21

Comments: I bought one of these for my boat and it rarely works.  I've had it for less than a year and needed it for 2 big fish and both times i had to fill my lives wells so I could take the thing a part, try new batteries and make sure the leads were making contact with the battery holders.  Once that was sorted out, it took about 6 tries to get a consistent weight reading.  Not worth the money.  The only thing of quality that rapala makes are its crankbaits and filet knives.

From: Jes: North Carolina 2/12/21

Comments: Love everything about the scale BUT is so inconsistent its not even funny. I literally have to weigh a fish 5 times to see what weight it lands on the most. During a tournament I had all my weights marked down go to cull the smallest fish and decided to weigh it one last time and it weighed completely different from the first time so I decided to re weigh all my fish and they were all considerably different than what I had marked down. It's very unreliable when it comes down to ounces during a tournament... I love the size, design  screen, and features just wish it was reliable and gave consistent weights and worked correctly

From: Richard, AZ 11/28/20

Comments: Scale is off! The one I had added an additional 2 lbs. Smallest 5lbers ever, when weighing 3's. And then the one my buddy had took off 1 to 2 and half lbs, like really??? You'd be more accurate just eyeballing your fish. Scale is off!

From: G - Stockton, CA 10/16/20

Comments: Mine worked good for a month and then one day nothing. I have to take the batteries out and put them back in every time I use it. It will work fine for a day after that but then it randomly stops working again. Its a headache and I would not recommend it.

From: Jeremy - Alabama 10/9/20

Comments: Had to send in twice already. Now the screen is out. Purchasing new Commander scale today!

From: Jeffrey: San Jose, CA 9/6/20

Comments: I've had 2 of these scales thinking the first one was broken because it was 10 ounces off after trying it on multiple weights. Got a second one and it worked for a little bit but after a month went back to the same thing.

From: Unknown - 7/15/20

Comments: Rapala should be embarrassed for making this scale, have gone through a few of them . They might work for a month or so if you're lucky, I just put them back in the package and take the junk right back to the store. Way to much money for what you get.

From: Jase: NY 7/10/20

Comments: Quick shipping, scale is built very well. Backlighting works great, should have no problems night fishing. Fish gripper is built well, and shouldn't harm the fish, which is a priority for me as I only catch and release. Comes with traditional hook as well if you preferred to use that. Would definitely recommend.

From: Kevin - Friendship, NY 5/18/20

Comments: Worked great for a month and then started off when I would try and weigh a fish. Caught my 2 biggest bass ever and have no idea what they weighed. I'm a catch and release guy so this scale failed me big time!

From: D.J: Alabama  4/25/20

Comments: Mine is already broken after having it for all of one month. literally just get the cheap round rapala one and it will be better than this.

From: Unknown: 4/16/20

Comments: The scale seems to be water resistant as it claims, it is perfectly lit up screen, and the grips for fish is amazing, but is inaccurate on its weighing by .2-.4 oz lighter then it should. Fails to do the one thing I wanted it to do and paid $40 dollars for piece of junk. My $20 dollar Rapala scale that is 3-4 years still is dead on. Come on Rapala!

From: Connor: Michigan 3/18/20

Comments: Yes the LCD screen is easy to see if you can keep it on. This thing powers off randomly while trying to weigh your fish, but the worst part is how inaccurate this scale is. I'm not talking a couple ounces either. You can catch a 5lb bass and it will tell you 3.

From: Alex: Alabama 10/24/19

Comments: Picked one up a few months ago and I dont have anything positive to say about it. It takes about 2# of force before it will start reading OUNCES.... Approx 10# of force will read between 4-6 pounds. To the trash it goes.

From: Steve, IN 9/1/19

Comments: This scale would be ok if it was even remotely weather or water resistant. After my first tournament I tried using the scale only to find the battery compartment had moisture in it and the batteries had corroded the terminals and it wouldn't work. Disappointing considering I only fished in a light rain for less than an hour and the scale was in storage the entire time. Never got rained on just moisture from the rain I guess. Next scale I purchase will at least be water resistant. Not what I expected from a brand like Rapala.

From: Don: TN 8/30/19

Comments: Ive had issues with my second unit- turns on then immediately turns off 3/4 tries.  Not an issue though as I lost my 2nd scale in the same fashion as my first- into the drink! They sink like a rock fyi hahah for $40 its impossible to beat this scale.  The fit and finish and very nice, if you need to buy a new one once a year its worth the investment.

From: Unknown 5/5/19

Comments: Used this scale last year during my summer tournaments. Weighs accurately, but my issue is that it's not as easy to weigh and store fish as others. Takes too many buttons/steps to save weight as well as replace weights when culling.

From: Brian: Galesburg, Il 4/5/19

Comments: Very Pleased with the scale. Contrast is great!, Weigh's as it states +/- 1 ounce. Good as to it allows me to cull without thinking about it. Did have an issue with it getting wet. Quit working. Put it in rice , dried it out , oiled the stem that sticks out to hold the split ring and put silicone on the edge of where the plastic face meets the mold of the unit and now when it's in the rain , I have no issues. Great product.

From: Ernest: San Diego 2/18/19

Comments: Mixed reviews here that's for sure.... mine is spot on and works great!! Calibration out the package was dead on easy to read and use. Would definitely recommend

From: Brent - Memphis, TN

Comments: Wow see its been hit or miss with buyers on here. Mine is on its second year and its all I could want, you can see the screen in bright light - it uses easy to replace household batteries - the fish holder works with least stress or damage to fish, and accuracy when compared to a calibrated digital scale was that it weighed 1/3oz heavy. All in all I must have got a good one or something as on a 6 pound fish it would be about 2 oz heavy, that's close enough for me.

From: Unknown - Central Florida 12/4/18

Comments: Try another scale - I fell for the marketing and bought this scale and the first one arrived and did not even power on so I sent it back to TW. The second scale showed up and was horribly inaccurate.  So once bitten, twice shy and there will not be a third try.  Very disappointing - it looks great on paper but was poor in hand.

From: Scott: Dallas, TX 11/6/18

Comments: Love this scale, and the company behind it. Easy to read and operate, powers on quick. The pinch grip is great. I had an accuracy issue with my first one, but Rapala made quick work in shipping back, inspecting, and sending a replacement. Hats off to Rapala for GREAT customer service. I would buy this again.

From: Bill - 9/15/18

Comments: This is a great scale. Especially if you need to take photos showing the fish on the scale with the weight displayed (ShareLunker or Trophy Catch programs). Nicely done, Rapala!

From: Shawn: Tampa 8/19/18

Comments: Very disappointed, did not weigh fish accurately was off by a good half a pound. And I tried turning it off back on weighing several different fish and other objects still same result. Do not recommend this one.

From: Brian - Louisiana 8/14/18

Comments: The first one I received was defective. It would not allow you to change the weight to lbs from Kg. TW replaced it with another one. This one worked ok for 5 months. Then suddenly it would come on, then go right back off. You could not change the weight selection options again. When you weighed a fish it would weigh them too light. TW was gracious enough to allow me to return it and they are refunding my money. I WILL NOT buy another Rapala scale.  I will continue to do all my online ordering from TW. They are the BEST, and its not even close.

From: Danny: Knoxville, TN 8/12/18

Comments: Fairly accurate but weighs objects about 0.1 pounds lighter or heavier than they actually are. I weighed an 8 pound weight, and it was always 8.1 it 7.9.

From: Unknown 6/29/18

Comments: It was awesome when it worked , Had it 3 weeks and rained on it during a tournament and its junk now , they are NOT water proof so stay away unless you  are a fair weather fisherman . Dry or die its a fact ..

From: Kevin: KY 6/23/18

Comments: Great scale, screen very easy to read, weight is accurate. Love the max,min and total display. The grip attachment fell from inside the scale after about four dozens of fish, because when fish flap while hanging under the scale, they tend to rotate and actually unscrewed the base of the grip and made it loose. Not a big deal. M3 fastener and a washer fixed the problem.

From: Jerry 6/19/18

Comments: Absolute garbage!!!! I bought this scale two months ago and the battery light is constantly saying it's low even after trying several new batteries. It will not register any weights. It was awesome in the beginning, but I noticed the battery lid would pop off from time to time and now I'm left with a hunk of junk. Sorry for sounding so negative, but the last Rapala scale lasted a little longer, but that one crapped the bed too. Sorry Rapala love the jerkbaits, done with your scales.

From: John - Cummings, GA 5/28/18

Comments: Easy to operate and holds onto fish good. Only issue is it is always off against tournament scales by a pound or more on total weight and a 1/4 to 1/2 pound on individual fish.

From: Unkonwn 5/18/18

Comments: Took it out of the package and was impressed with options to weigh fish and keep memory of weighs, took it out on the water and weighed one fish and the weight  reading jumped all over, turned it on and off to reset and it completely stopped reading weight unless it was weight over 10 pounds. I contacted TW and sent it back purchased a Bricknell. Would not recommend but maybe I got a bad unit?

From: Mike: Albany NY 4/13/18

Comments: Opened mine today and installed batteries, was easy to clear the weight entered at the factory, but would not register a weight at all. Hung a 12" cast iron pan from it and showed 0.0 lbs. Going back tomorrow and will look for another brand.

From: Randy: Nineveh Indiana 3/19/18

Comments: All I have to say is wow... tells you your biggest and smallest fish, holds up to 8 weights. Easy to use, and seems very accurate. Not to mention that fish grip is the way to go. Did i mention it OPENS BEER!? It also lets you know the air temp, which is pretty sweet as well. 10/10 would buy this again.

From: Kyle: Eugene, OR 3/5/18

Comments: Very accurate, easy to use, fish stays locked on, just wish it was water resistant/proof

From: Rick - Ottawa, ON Canada 12/11/17

Comments: This scale is great. Very accurate and easy to read. Highly recommend. Great for culling as it will store your weights and total for you.

From: Trey - Richmond, VA 11/11/17

Comments: Best scale I've ever owned, tons of features and easy to use. Best feature is the quick grip clip for weighing fish no need to punch a hole when not needed.

From: Adam: Rice Lake 9/25/17

Comments: Best scale used very accurate best rapala scale made
