Overview

Hit the water with a plug featuring a unique exterior weight design, the SPRO Outsider Crank MR 60 Crankbait. Dreamed up in a smart collaboration between John Crews and the dynamic Johnston brothers, the Outsider Crank boasts external weight placement to not only increase effective casting distance but also impart a more responsive action that drives fish into a feeding frenzy. The nose of the plug is capped with a durable bill that plunges the bait to the strike zone quickly and erratically deflects off cover to incite vicious reaction bites.

Built to harass fish holding off the bank in the mid-range of the water column, the SPRO Outsider Crank MR 60 Crankbait unleashes impressive action and brilliant good looks. The Outsider Crank slips out of the packaging with meticulous paint schemes and SPRO’s signature Mean Eyes that have been proven at the professional level of the sport. Additionally, the front of the plug features 3D gill rakers and mandibles to enhance their authenticity. Sticky sharp Gamakatsu hooks are anchored to the belly with dependably strong split rings to convert more bites, optimizing angler’s hook-up ratios. An exciting new twist on a classic hard bait profile, the SPRO Outsider Crank MR 60 Crankbait is a must-have addition to everyone’s mid-range arsenal.

Hard passI’m really not sure what SPRO was going for with the Outsiders. I’m a crankbait junkie. I purchased three of these. The first broke off at the bill which seems to be common. The second got hung up at a place I’ve fished thousands of times with other crank baits. The last one is sitting on the shelf laughing at me for spending so much money. I might try them again when they’re at clearance prices, but as of now HARD PASS.

Comments: Bought 2 of them. Do not throw them around lava rocks or sticky cover. They Do Not deflect at all. Instant snag fest. Super frustrating. I tried em around some Didn't work out to well. Caught a few small mouth. But for $19-$20 to only get 15-20 casts on one. Then the just snag up. Basically impossible to get loose because of the OUTSIDER weight design. Still suspect. We'll see how they continue to perform? But hard to suffice for the cost. Ouch...

Comments: I have broken two of these baits so far. Both have broken off at the bill one from grinding it in the rocks the second from a hybrid bass. not sure if i just got lemons or this typical across the board. neither hit anything hard on a cast either. for the price they should hold up better.

Comments: I have a sizeable collection of SPRO Little John baits that I have been using for many years, now. Most times, they produce; sometimes, they are a go-to and I always thought I would pay-attention to anything new that came from them. So, I bought two of these new cranks and combined them and my experience to do some winter-fishing, which I always do. I am not a pro but do a lot of fishing and have much experience. I hit three lakes that I do well on, routinely, but could not connect with these baits, whereas, some other stand-bys produced some very nice smallies and a few nice largemouths. I always kept one of the Outsiders tied on and fished them a lot. I'll stay with them and try to figure them or myself out, however, I won't buy anymore because I think they are pretty over-priced. Sure look good though and run smoothly, as well.
