Overview

Developed and tested along the infamous TVA system, the Scottsboro Tackle Co. Fatty Swimbait is a fatter and deeper bellied version of the original STC Swimbait to give anglers a bigger profile that triggers bigger bites. Perfect for kicker-sized bass that feed on large gizzard shad, the Scottsboro Tackle Co. Fatty Swimbait generates a natural swimming action and a side-to-side body roll that makes big bass hungry and want to feed. It also comes with a deep hook pocket that is pre-sealed, which gives anglers the option to use their favorite jighead for open water applications or a screw-lock style swimbait hook for those times when you need a weedless presentation. Finished with large 3D eyes for added realism and offered in a wide selection of hand-poured colors, the Scottsboro Tackle Co. Fatty Swimbait will make sure you bring bigger fish to the scales.

Comments: They don't swim straight. I don't leave gear reviews much but after the guys at Tactical were so high on this bait I gave both sizes a try. I opened the baits seal to install 10/0 beast hook very carefully. Tried 2 different fatty style bait and neither seam straight at any speed except a pure crawl. I'm pretty dumb, but I think I rigged it as directed. Tried to tune them both. No helps. Its a shame because the colors are really nice and the bait is soft and shows potential for being awesome. I need help, please direct me how to rig these to swim ok. Even the smaller sizes track poorly at any speed. No pleased w this purchase

Comments: Tracks well, in my pool, with both weedless 10/0 and 1oz lead heads. Looking fwd to getting it in the real water. Another note, it sits perfectly oriented on the bottom when allowed to sink.

Comments: I really like these on an Owner Flashy Swimmer. The big body seems to really attract a bigger bite. I've used their regular swimbaits for years and this one is a great addition to the lineup.

Comments: I tried out my first Scottsboro Fatty Swimbait on a kayak fishing trip and I was really impressed how well it swam and also produced a lot of big bites! I was fishing it weedless with a weighted 10/0 Owner Beast Hook and was slow-rolling it in relatively deep water letting it hit bottom, then creeping it very slowly letting bump along cover, and that's how I got mostly bit during a clear, bluebird sky day. The gear I used with it is 20# copolymer line, Shimano Conquest 300 reel, and a Dobyns Rods Champion 807 swimbait rod. The swim action is great, it has a nice head wobble with a lot of tail kick when swam with a slow to medium retrieve where it really excels to give that enticing action. I also rigged it with an underspin willow blade and it helped keep it true on a slightly faster than medium retrieve. The quality is awesome, since its the fatty version the owner CPS spring has a lot to grab on on the nose, so it doesn't easily blowout on hook sets, yet its soft and durable. Even after fishing it all day, many many bites during the trip, bass choking it, and even a big chain pickerel hammering it, it's still all together. After the chain pickerel sliced open parts of the plastic, I was able to repair it with Mend-It glue, and it's ready to get on more fishing. Overall, I will absolutely like this Scottsboro Fatty swimbait, I'll definitely be ordering more soon! I think it's a nice contender and option to so many other soft swimbaits on the market. I'd absolutely recommend this to anyone that is getting into swimbait fishing, not only for the quality but also for the great price and availability.

Comments: Wish these worked well got them to be fished weedless and it will not swim at all at any speed it will rise up and blowout. Do not recommend if you are fishing them weedless. They will swim fine on a large jig head but otherwise these are terrible.
