Comments: Back on 11/21/22 I wrote a review of this line. Around that time due to a heartless greedy insurance company my already limited income got cut by 20%. So there was no saving money to buy Invisx. So I was stuck with the Basix I had purchased. Which was a good thing. Well, you know what I mean. I used the Basix on two reels. 12lb on a moderate rod for treble baits. And 15lb on my texas rig, jig, ect.... It has worked well. My line was getting low on my treble hook rod so I had to buy another spool of 12lb. I thought I was going to have to "break it in" like it seemed the other line did. Got better as I used it. Maybe it was all in my head but it was the same right out of the box. Worked just fine. It is not Invisx by a long shot. But being almost 1/3 the price who would think it would be? But it is sure working just fine for me. This is now my go to line. Knot strength is impressive. And abrasion resistance has surprised me. Don't get me wrong. If someone walked up to me and handed me $30 and said go buy yourself some Invisx I would in a heart beat. But that is not going to happen. I'm just so thankful for Seaguar coming out with this line just when I needed it. I would probably be stuck with mono on all my reels if they hadn't. Thanks Seaguar.

From: Friggs: Denver, PA 9/10/23

Comments: I initially thought this line was good. However, after breaking off on hooksets, while reeling fish in, and even breaking off during a cast, I became highly disappointed in this line. It casts well, is budget friendly, but lacks any type of abrasion resistance. This line frays super easy and is just not worth the headache.

From: Dustin: North Florida 7/14/23

Comments: Mixed results with the Basix. I've used the 12lb test and it's decent but I had 10lb test that was garbage. It would keep breaking off and I could see it splitting even when there was no abrasion involved. Back to Invisx if I go lighter than 12lb.

From: Chuck: Upstate NY 7/3/23

Comments: Been using seaguar for a long time...red label has historically been my go-to. Tried this basix...it's different than red label, much stiffer, but its strong, holds knots well and fishes just fine, great for leaders, too. Overall, I am as happy with it as I expected to be from a seaguar product and will absolutely buy again...and again.

From: Dennis: WI 5/18/23

Comments: I fish an extremely rocky river a ton. I've used the basix from 6lb up to 15lb and I really like it. I feel like it casts better than the Red Label. I've not had any breaks that weren't expected. I've been real impressed with this line and would highly recommend it for the budget fishermen.

From: Tyler: Indiana 4/22/23

Comments: I've used this in 10#, 12# and 15# for leader material for several months now. It's worked very well, just as solid as red label imo. I've had it break, but in retrospect it was probably because I insufficiently lubricated the knots before tightening. I've hauled in palmetto stumps with it, so I don't see it was being weak or prone to breaking. I think they may have had production issues because it sounds like a lot of folks got bad spools, but mine have all been solid so far. I normally buy red label for 20# leader, but I may go for the 175y 20# Basix instead.

From: Kevin: North Florida 3/20/23

Comments: Total junk. Buy and give away to derby competitors as a nice gesture... The line seems to break down quickly and does not hold its strength. First trip to a local pond, no issues, caught fish/hook sets. 2nd trip, by the end I was afraid to even set the hook. 8lb and turned to maybe 4lb test. Breaking not only where you would expect, but random spots up the line. I could grab a section and pull sharply and it would just snap like 2lb. Like Seaguar, but this line is trash.

From: Brett: 3/15/23

Comments: I've been fishing the 6lb for about 4 months on a combo that I just keep in the back of my truck to go fishing when I have some time to kill. Let me tell you, I never take this combo out of my truck. It's been exposed to sun, rain, cold temps, warm temps, getting tangled in briars as I walk down the creek. I've NEVER had this line break at a time that I thought it shouldn't have. I also have my crankbait rod in the boat spooled up with 12lb and have had no issues with that yet either, but haven't fished with that near as much as my truck combo. In my opinion, I haven't experienced the terrible memory that others complain about nor have I noticed the amount of stretch that others talk about. I'm probably gonna stick with abrazix for my bottom contact baits, but This stuff is very good for the price.

From: Zach B: Virginia 3/1/23

Comments: Been using 8LB as leader material with 15lb braid . Been throwing neds and drop shots and have not had 1 single issue with it . I would buy it again especially for 10 bucks a spool. I am going to run 15lb this year on a medhvy rod spinnerbaits and finesse jigs will chime in with another review after testing.

From: Trevor: Idaho 2/2/23

Comments: Earlier I praised this line for being reasonably priced and dependable. Sadly, this line has not held up. Later in the season, it started breaking randomly throughout the spool - anywhere from right at the knot to several feet up from it. I even had it break in my rod guides on a cast. I've taken it all off - terribly disappointed!

From: Devin: MN 12/11/22

Comments: I've always been anti-flouro. I thought it was overpriced and overhyped kinda like a supermodel but someone told me about this so I've done some testing with it and I'm impressed. For the price, you can't beat it and if you hate it well you're out $10 rather than $30 but I'd definitely recommend it.

From: Colby: Louisiana 12/2/22

Comments: Not good at all. Has way too much stretch. Izor xxx has less stretch than this stuff. Spend the extra 5 bucks and get the red label.

From: Chris: California 11/27/22

Comments: When I first bought this line I was impressed. I used 8, 12 and 15lb line . Jigs crankbaits and Ned rigs . But then when I started fishing in Cumberland it all changed. The rocks eat this lineup worst than cheap mono. It was even breaking up into the spool. I re-read the package. No mention of abrasion resistance. Its strength comes from a stretch in the line. Hung up a crankbait and when to bow pop the line. It broke in my spool. Did it several times. Took it off all my reels. Better off with Trilene XT than this line and cheaper.

From: Clifford: Ky 11/23/22

Comments: I had my doubts about this line. But when I saw Gene Jenson recommend it I bought a spool. I have been using Invizx but being on a limited income I was hoping I found good cheap fluorocarbon. Well, I will say it is strong with good knot strength. But it is about as supple as a staple. And the memory is horrible even after getting line treatment. It is not bad enough to cause a problem. But I just hate seeing the memory when I am fishing soft plastics and you sometimes have slightly slack line. So I took it off and got another line. It does work well for leaders. So I actually did buy some more for that purpose. But I would not use it as a main line. Especially on a spinning reel. I think it would be a disaster on a spinning reel. So I guess I need to save up for new Invizx for next year.

From: Friggs: Denver, PA 11/21/22

Comments: I love red label and have used it for years. Bought this cause it is a seaguar product and the price was for sure right. Well after buying 6 spools (4,6,10,12,15,20) I have thrown them all away. Absolute garbage. The 4 and 6lb I used for my pan fishing and it was ok but got line twist and started kinking pretty quickly. 1212 was a crankbait line and it broke if you looked at it funny. All the others were leader material for my rods with mainline braid. Won't be wasting my money on this stuff again.

From: AARON: IL 11/13/22

Comments: I have had 15 on a casting reel for six months now. I use line conditioner and it is still very useable today. I think I have finally found the inexpensive, dependable floro I have been looking for.

From: Jason: 10/13/22

Comments: I have held off writing a review until we finished out our tournament season. All I can say is wow. No break offs, no kinks, just a good solid line for less than $10! I fished the 8 pound as a leader, 12 for cranking sticks, 15 for general purpose, and 20 for punching. Just wish they sold it in bulk spools!

From: John: Batesville, AR 10/13/22

Comments: I bought 10,12,15, and 20. Love the stuff and have been fish lava rock on Clear lake with no issues. Same bites and as good cast ability wise when compared to my line which is 3X the price. I'm back for some more. See if it fits in your wheelhouse as everybody has different needs.

From: Kelly: Ojai,CA 9/26/22

Comments: I bought some in 12# for swimjigs and spinnerbaits. So far, it's held up well enough. Some abrasion when fishing rip-rap and wood, but nothing major. Sensitivity is good. I'm getting the same number of bites as I do with high end line, and the cost is way better. Overall - thumbs up for this particular lb test. Will need to try lighter ones and see if they also hold up as well.

From: Devin: Minnesota 8/26/22

Comments: Been using Seaguar for 20 years , Saw the name Seaguar and I bought it.  However, I can't believe that Seaguar wasted the time to produce this garbage. This line does not hold a Knott what so ever, breaks at hook sets or slips. Oh yea 15 lb test.

From: James: Hot Springs Village, AR 8/16/22

Comments: This line is absolutely fantastic. Comes off of my reel fantastic and is super smooth going back on. I use the 15 lbs test and it has held up to everything I've been able to throw at it. It is fairly abrasion resistant and I've only had two break offs. Make sure to check your line after every fish and retie if it's torn up and this line will always serve you well.

From: Unknown: 7/25/22

Comments: Experimented with this line all season, and was glad I did. In four tournaments so far I've had no issues. Knot strength is great abrasion resistance and sensitivity is up there and manageability was fine. I used 8#, 12#, 15# and 20#. I'd say possibly the only difference between this and red or yellow label is memory perhaps, but line conditioner would probably solve that. If you re-spool often, give this line a try. You'll like it.

From: saucierfishing : Louisiana 7/21/22

Comments: This stuff is great! I don't know about using it for a main line, but for leaders it's perfect! I'll never spend $20-$25 on a spool of Invisix or Sunline Sniper again. I've used this line in creeks with boulders and rocks. It holds up great. I caught my PB smallmouth yesterday using it as a matter of fact. It holds knots well and just as abrasion resistant as FC Sniper if not more. I got the 10lb for leaders on my spinning setups and I'm extremely pleased with it!

From: Chris: Cincinnati, OH 7/16/22

Comments: Had high hopes for this line. I purchased 8# to use as drop shot leader material with 15# braid main line. Had numerous break offs on hook sets. Possible I got a bad batch or it's just a not good line to be used as leader material. Either way I'm not going to trust this line, at least in the smaller diameters. I've had great luck with red label.

From: Tyler: Athens, GA 7/16/22

Comments: I had this line put to the test by a big catfish this morning. I'm happy to say it held up well after being taken down into big boulders. Knot strength is good. I will buy it again!

From: Chris: Ohio 7/1/22

Comments: I am fishing it in 15. Love it! No issues at all. Been on the spool a month. Of course, I used line conditioner and that probably helps. Try a spool and see if it is your thing. In a world where everything is getting more expensive, along comes this wonderfully inexpensive stuff. Yay!

From: Jason: Unknown 6/10/22

Comments: Wanted to try this since we started carrying it at our shop and was not disappointed. Spooled up all of my reels with it for my last tournament and honestly can't tell the difference between this and red label, it's great. Placed 4th and was able to fight fish out of brushpiles and grass with no issues. The only thing I THINK red or yellow label has over this might be line memory/lasting power. But if you're like me and change line often then it'll never be a problem. 10/10

From: Charlie: New Orleans, LA 5/30/22

Comments: Bought this line because of the price point. I got the 15lb spool for running spinners on, the line has been top notch minimal abrasion when fishing my spinner over or through brush and cover. Overall I am pleased with the results will be buying more.

From: Josh: West Virginia 5/18/22

Comments: I wanted to like this line but I had bad experiences with 2 separate spools. Bad memory, weak spots, and inconsistent diameters. A guide I talked to said he was dealing with the same issues. Everyone else reviewing it seems to love it so maybe we just got a bad batch, but I honestly prefer Vanish over this stuff.

From: Matt: Southern California 5/1/22

Comments: I was a little bit skeptical due to the price point but have wanted to try this line since it was first announced. Honestly, the reviews here are mostly spot on. This line has low memory, good knot strength, good abrasion resistance, and handles really well. To give it a fair test, I made dozens of casts directly into 10-15 mph winds using a 3/8th oz jig and blew up my reel 0 times. I haven't managed that with the other fluorocarbons that I have tried. This was without using any line conditioner which would make it handle even better.

From: Elijah: Washington 4/25/22

Comments: Great line, way less memory than red label. Very smooth , low stretch. Just wish it came in bulk spools.

From: John: Lakeport , FL 4/11/22

Comments: I spooled up some 12# test on a casting reel and it performed great, I loved it so much. I got some 4# for a spinning reel for crappie fishing but the 4# test will literally snap like thread, it's more like 1/4 pound test. Had several crappie in the 1 to 2 pound range just break the 4# test

From: Jack: Arkansas 3/26/22

Comments: Use 15lb on my baitcaster. Handles very well. Smooth, low memeory. No issues with knots or breakage. Sensitivity is very good. Fish 6lb on the drop shot. So far its is fishing well. Again, little memory which is a plus with straight floro on a spinning reel. Seems to stay packed on the reel well. Will see how it performs this spring and summer?

From: KH: San Diego, CA 3/10/22

Comments: I have not fished this line in person but I do own a spool. Just from the feeling alone this will basically take over the market for the more budget fluorocarbons out there. It's improved and IMO feels better than red label. It's not as thin as some more expensive options but at this price it is really really close. It will force other companies to compete with this and it won't be easy. Getting this on any sale makes it feel like your getting it for free. My only complaint is I wish they have more sizes. But regardless you should definitely buy this line if your looking to save some cash. I know it will perform flawlessly.

From: Mason: Massachusetts 2/11/22

Comments: Spooled all my bait casters with this line in 10 lbs, 12 lbs and 15 lbs and used them all day fishing a Tournament this past weekend. The line handled great, knots were strong and absolutely no issues whatsoever. works great with jerk baits, cranks and jigs. Great sensitivity and comes off the reel smooth.

From: Steve: Knoxville, TN 2/4/22

Comments: good stuff, same quality as red label. Low memory and casts smooth

From: Austin: Clayton,GA 1/26/22

Comments: Awesome line!! Incredibly smooth and cast a mile. Soft with no memory. Great price and very durable. Knot strength is very strong. I recommend it.
