Impressive especially for the priceI purchased two of these reels to add to my collection given some buzz I hear about them in the industry. The quality, fit and finish on these reels are good and they performed on water better than I expected. I used the two reels almost exclusively for the 5 days while I was down in Mexico fishing Lake Picachos and El Salto. I had each reel spooled with 17-pound FC and they performed flawlessly. Zero backlashes throwing weightless flukes, swimbaits all the way up to 10-inch power worms. The drag was smooth and handled fish up to 8 pounds like it nothing. They performed as well as some of my $300 plus baitcasting reels from big brand name companies at over half the price. I'll be buying more for sure! Pros - Fits well in your hand, good carbon fiber handle, casts a mile, easy to adjust on the fly and line keeper is a nice touch. Cons - The line weight dial is a nice thought but way too small to read. Lew's has that one right on the cast control knob.

Meh ok but not anything great or innovativeI tried one of these because I like St. Croix rods and I wasn’t impressed at all. Seviin baitcasters reels look almost identical to Okuma and I am guessing must come out of same factory. As far as performance they work fine but aren’t spectacular in any way. IMO Shimano or Daiwa have better options at this price point.

First non Shimano Reel in 18yrsI have been a huge supported of St. Croix Rods for over 15yrs. I could not wait to get my hands on one of these reels. So far this reel has performed beyond expiration. It cast very well, has a great drag, and withstood the best day of catching striper on bass tackle I've ever had. I don't think this reel can be beat for the price.

The Seviin GF is AWESOME!The Seviin GF is the best bang for your buck! I’ve had the pleasure of fishing these reels for a while now. I can honestly say that whether you are fishing moving baits or dragging stuff on the bottom, the GF will give you an amazing experience. These reels cast a mile! Seviin uses high-quality Japanese bearings and it really shows when you wing a cast out there. The carbon fiber handle is also a nice touch. I have used a lot of mid to high end reels from other manufactures and the level of performance of this $120 real is right on par. The GF performers in a class double its price point.

So far, so good!Been using all three versions of the rh models and have had no issues. So far I’ve fished in all weather conditions being in northern Wisconsin where we have four seasons in four days, and the reels have held up. Casts smooth, drag is smooth, and they are easy enough to set for each bait presentation I’ve used. I’ve been surprised mostly with the casting distance. I’ve used the Tatula svt for years and I can honestly say, I won’t buy another one since I’ve gotten the same performance at a $120 value. This reel is a little heavier than the Tatula but feels well balanced on the high end rods I’ve been using.

Previous Feedback

Comments: Just received my casting reel, 8.1:1, left hand, today. Right out of the box the reel started squeaking as I turned the handle. I've been playing with the reel for about an hour now and its still squeaking. I tried putting just a little bit of reel oil on the level wind assy, but it's not helping. Hopefully the squeaking will go away once I take it out on the water. Also there's a lever underneath the right side plate next to a "lock" picture that you can switch back and forth, but I'm unable to locate any info on what the use of that lever is for. I've emailed Seviin and waiting for their response. No manual in the box. I'm used to metal frame reels, this one feels different (you get what you paid for). The numbers on the line memo is so small you will need a magnifying glass to see the numbers, in my opinion it's useless. Nice looking handle. I'm hoping to get at least a couple good years or more out of this reel.
