Shimano should be ashamed.Worst line I've ever used and it's not close I would rather use zebco monofilament from Walmart. This line is marketed as flurocarbon mainline and it's not even worthy of being used as leader line.

Misunderstood lineThis is a FluoroCarbon LEADER line. If you intend to fill your spool, choose a different FC that has more stretch/suppleness. This works great as a leader because it is more wiry and stiff, increasing the sensitivity. I attach 10lb mastiff leader to 15lb braid mainline using an FG knot and it is perfect for finesse fishing around 3/16th oz plastics.

Great for leadersI mainly got this line for the price and after reading reviewers mainly using this a leader line. I've used it for such and find that I just retie for peach of mind if i get any nick or after a few fish, why risk it. So far so good, using 20lb for CR, 8 and 10 for DS. Maybe i get to retie a little less using "leader line"...

Sucks to see this awesome line go awayNot sure what the 'nay' sayers are talking about but I just caught a 38lb blue cat in the bushes on 14lb Mastiff and this giant chewed the line and hung me in the trees. She finally came out and landed her. Had to retie but the 14lb Shimano Mastiff fluoro line held.

It’s different, but great…Here’s my two cents. It’s weird line… but in a great way… it’s actually got a touch more stretch than other fluoro out there, but it is insanely sensitive. Which I realize these two attributes contradict eachother by nature... But, thinking outside the box on how this line shines is why it’s now my preferred lipless/trappin line. You can feel those extra subtle bites on drops and long casts but it still has enough “give” to get more fish in the boat. Throw this in 10-15# on traps, you’ll be happy.

Best Leader LineThis is the best line for braid to leader. I have been using the 6# and have never had a problem. I caught a 21# tiger muskie in this 6# leader. I fought it for over half an hour. This line handled it wonderfully! Absolutely the best FC line for a leader.

8lb test used snapped on 4lb bassI was dropsotting this line as a leader line and my biggest fish of the tournament broke the like at the hook. This could have been a user error except same day it broke again on a fresh leader. Probably why they are giving this stuff away.

Don't use for ultralight applicationGreat line, but as other reviewers mentioned, its super stiff line with high memory. I put the 4# on my ultra light bc I got the line for 5 bucks with a shimano purchase. You will have coiled line after the first few outings. Have not tried the line in other applications, but it seems to be a good strong line for the right scenarios.
