Comments: Smooth, Light, and Strong are just a few characteristics to describe this reel. I've had this reel since its release and have yet to be disappointed. In fact, it has surpassed my every expectations. Coming from a Shimano Stradic Ci4, this reel definitely is a major step up. Numerous inshore fishing trips and local lake trips, and still as smooth as ever. You can definitely feel a difference between X-Protect and Core Protect. Less worry about saltwater inhibiting the reel and corroding. My reel has gotten splashed on by the waves and was still as smooth as ever like nothing ever happened. Like any inshore trip, Lubricate, Oil, and Clean after every inshore fishing trip. Do this and this reel will last you a lifetime. If you are contemplating making the step up from a Stradic, don't. This reel is worth every penny.

Comments: I bought 2 of these reels and let me tell you these things have got to be the smoothest spinning reels I have ever owned. I got both of them in the 1000 size and I use them for crappie fishing jigs and also walleye fishing with jigs. I have not used them for bass fishing yet but I have caught several nice bass with them and the drag is simply phenomonal. Also the casting distance is great as well. I have many higher end reels like the Daiwa Certate, Shimano Sustains, Stratics and Vanfords, and they are all very nice reels but this Twinpower is just the nicest smoothest reel of all of them. If you have the money to buy one just go for it but let me just say one is not gonna be enough!!!

Comments: Shimano has really upped its game in the 2020/2021 years!! I've got 2 of the 2021 Twin Power XD 3000s. They are just a stunning and awesome reel. Lightweight but yet they feel extremely well built and balanced. Line management is second to none. Drag is super consistent and smooth. The gearing tolerances are spot on. Zero gear noise while cranking. Long casts are effortless. Depending on your spending, you can't go wrong with the Stella, Twin Power XD, Twin Power FD, Exsence or Stradic. I've got them all and they are ALL AWESOME!!!

Comments: If you are considering making the investment in these reels, by all means DO IT!!! I throw artificial lures only for redfish and snook in south Florida 150-200 days a year and these reels are no joke! Day after day they perform flawlessly. I have to replace the line roller bearings every 12-18 months but nothing else on them has failed. I started replacing my Stradic Ci4's with them about 5 years ago and now own a dozen in total in all sizes but use my 3000's more than anything. Tarpon to 100lbs, snook to 50lbs and the biggest reds I can find and the reels have never shown any sign of weakness or inferiority. I don't have a bad thing to say about the Twin Power XD reels and could go on for hours about how dependable they are.

Comments: Got the 4000 to replace a Penn Slammer III 3500 on a Teramar SE (not XX) 7' 6" MH XF. You may have never experienced this level of solidity and smoothness before. This new Twin Power feels like perfectly meshed balls of buttered mercury. You won't even believe it. You'll keep turning the handle to try to realize you're actually witnessing a reality.
