Overview

An innovative approach to the incredibly popular ned rig, the Strike King Rage Tail Ned Cut-R Worm offers a bite-sized presentation with a big punch. Designed with a ribbed body and a single Rage Tail appendage, the Strike King Rage Tail Ned Cut-R Worm delivers a lively tail kick as it scoots across the lake floor.

Lethal on a ned rig, but incredibly effective with a wide-variety of techniques, the Strike King Rage Tail Ned Cut-R Worm’s small body and heavy commotion excels on the back of a finesse jig, dropshot, or split shot. Available in a number of proven fish-catching colors, the Strike King Rage Tail Ned Cut-R Worm will make an excellent addition to any finesse fishing arsenal.

Comments: As many other reviewers have mentioned, this little bait excels in rivers (moving water). I have had tremendous success with these for smallmouth. They just can't pass them up. The tail gives these lures action equivalent to a small baitfish swimming, even at super slow retrieves. Just bounce them along the bottom, bring them in slowly and let the current do the work for you. These would likely work well in lakes but might have to hop them along and not let them sit stationary. My color is Green Pumpkin and there is no reason to try any other color because it flat out catches fish. "Don't make changes to a winning team", they say. I use a 1/8oz or 3/16oz NED jig with a 2/0 hook and the combo is deadly. Try some of these if you haven't - you'll be really glad you did.

From: Andrew: Minnesota 4/13/23

Comments: Like others have mentioned, this is not really a ned fishing bait, oh no, quite more than that. Being in Minnesota, I fish the Mississippi for walleye a lot and I'll throw the morning dawn color on a 1/4 VMC mooneye jighead and they get WACKED. Also, the crawdaddy color and green pumpkin paired with the new Zman chatterbait mini-max is a pre-spawn demon for largies and smallies. Just rig the Cut R worm upside down and snap it like you would a tube, the fish can't get enough. Trust

From: Lex: Minnesota 4/4/23

Comments: They could really use some baitfish colors, that being said... This is a great bait. I second the review stating these catch walleye, and I honestly think these will rival a small swimbait. I really don't feel they work best on a NED rig, I have had better luck swimming these like a classic grub or using them for a finesse jig trailer. Would be a perfect lure but they are a little high. As far as durability goes they are what is expected from a good action plastic (most great plastics have lower durability: anything Keitech, Yamamoto baits, etc.)

From: Weston: Arkansas 1/5/22

Comments: The cut R plastics by Strike King are fantastic.  After catching a bunch of fish on the standard cut R worm, just cut the tail portion down to ned size and repurpose the bait.

From: Don: Dover, NH 3/6/21

Comments: Got bama craw, they look good on a Ned head or a finesse jig durability's pretty okay but one came ripped. Not the end of the world but a slight disappointment.

From: Nathan: Durham NC 1/27/21

Comments: Got these in Green pumpkin and had success with catching perch. I didn't originally buy these from tackle warehouse and actually got these at walmart in a strike king Ned Rig kit (comes with 5 plastics and 2 jigs for $3 and some change) and i could see these being amazing in the spring and summer for bass. The tail flutters quick on a slow retrieve and just looks good for the small size, I would recommend these based on my experience but these do seem a little pricey compared to the other ned baits available. I have to mention that the durability is not great but I'd rather have good action rather than a stiff piece of plastic.

From: Luis: Michigan 10/26/20

Comments: Idon't like it when they 'classify' lures when they market them, leave it to us anglers what to do with them. This "NED" Cutter Worm is a prime example. When I first saw it, I didn't think NED Rig, I thought FISH IT ON A LEAD HEAD FOR WALLEYES! and that's what I did and am doing right now on The Mississippi River. Drifting and hovering these off the bottom on a 3/8 or 5/16 oz. jig head works wonders. The Rage Tail vibrates in the current, so all you have to do is lift the jig off the bottom as you slip downstream. The walleyes will thump it. When the current and the water are down, you can catch bass as well as walleyes on wing dams and other rock structure. I can't wait to use their other NED plastics on jigs in the spring. SK, keep making and expanding the plastics line like you are, let us put the label on them and we'll tell you all of the different presentations that work with them.
