Comments: First negative review I've every made. I ordered two sizes of this head last year and was anxious to try them because the unique hook bend shape seemed like it could "pin" a fish perhaps better than a round bend hook. The jig heads arrived this week and I've been playing with them using a Zman Finesse TRD and a 4" Senko. IMO there are two problems with the design. First, the keeper, although highly effective in keeping the plastic on the hook, sticks out too far (high) from the hook shank. So unless you keep the hook point exactly centered while installing the bait, the tip of the hook keeper often will penetrate the skin and stick outside the bait. Even if you exactly center the hook, the height of the keeper makes a bulge on the outside of the worm. The second problem has to do with the shape of the hook bend. This is not a problem if you use Z Man plastic, however if you use a less stretchy bait such as a Senko, the hook will slice the bait length wise as you are putting it on. This does not happen with a traditional round bend hook. I'm a very happy user of several Strike King products, but wonder how throughly they tested this head for NED Rig application before they released it. Very disappointing.
