GOOD GRIEFI thought I was going to have to leave my rod and real behind at the lake yesterday after getting my bait hung up in a brush pile...TWICE. I couldn't break it off! 18lb. As always, time will only tell how good it really is, but so far so good.

Previous Feedback

Comments: This line is garbage. I got a spool of 10lb and 14lb and both constantly broke. Strains of the floro were coming apart. Don't but this. Sunline's quality control is awful.

From: Brodie: Iowa 9/21/23

Comments: Amazing line. Purchased 20lb for fishing medium glidebaits and such. It's great, tie a palomar knot and this stuff is nearly impossible to break. Memory is OK, but doesn't matter to me because I fish it as a leader to braid. Also purchased 7lb for dropshotting. This line makes good knots and has great memory for a dropshot leader. even caught a 3.5lb smallmouth on my first outing with it. The line is so strong my medium action shimano spinning rod broke before the line trying to pull out a snag! Very happy with both lines but the 7lb is the best line I have ever fished.

From: Ian : Corvallis,OR 8/14/23

Comments: I recently bought some of this line just ignore the bad reviews i got the 14lb test for soft plastics and it throws amazing I've had no issues what so ever but I didn't noticed when u spool ur like it kinks up but that was the only problem and people that are talking about there knots make sure y'all tie a different knot or make sure your knots are tied in general cause I've had 0 issues.

From: Unknown: 7/23/23

Comments: Says best seller for a reason. I'll bet it is because of the light line guys. Think open light wire hook applications 4-7 pound test. Drop shot, small jerks, light wire swimbait hooks and the like. Not a cross their eyes kind of thing on the set. I'm using a different type of line for those applications as the heavy shock does better elsewhere.

From: Mark : 6/23/23

Comments: Best fluro I have used. Use a couple of sprays of Reel Magic when spooling and your memory issues will be gone. Cast great. I fish a lot of stump fields and heavy vegetation and have not issues with this line's performance. I use 14lb to 20lb and have a rod ready for use with different lb rigs depending on what structure I am fishing. Only issue I have is 165 yards on small spool, would like to see Sunline increase to 200yd spool since I don't want to carry bunch of large volume spools in my boat, too bulky.

From: Bill: Orange Park, Fl 6/10/23

Comments: i had kinks in my line while spooling also as i read some other reviews had that problem as well, also i never lost so many fish and lures from my knots either breaking or just plain out unraveling and yes i lubricate my line and have been tying fishing knots for decades, the line cast nice easy to pick birds nest out but i honestly dont trust it anymore, i bought the 20lb and 12lb with the 12 lb i got a birds nest and carefully picked it out the next cast my line just flew off the reel due to a break in the line from a not all that bad birds nest. i will continue my flurocarbon search.

From: Jacob: PA 8/19/22

Comments: My review is for the 8lb 660yd spool specifically. I bought this line a while back and as I used the line through the whole spool it was twisted and straight off the spool kinked every so many feet. It was a mess while fishing and was having many issues after a cast. When running my fingers thru the line it felt un-smooth. I decided to contact sunline customer support and was given a replacement spool. After receiving the new spool.same problem. The customer support was very nice and easy to work with I must add. Unfortunately, I will not be using this line anymore it was a waste and I don't know if it's Quality Control or what happened just a heads up. I am a tournament angler for over 20 years and by any means not a novice.

From: Ryan: California 6/3/22

Comments: Started to have issues with Seaguar, so I decided to give Sunline a try. Went from 15lbs InvisX to 16lbs Sniper and threw a shaky head around flooded timber and rocks. Caught a lot of fish and had fish wrap me in the trees and the line didnât frey. Only broke off once, which was my fault because I never retied after like 20+ fish. It's definitely caught my attention, and I will definitely be buying more Sunline to try out. If it all goes good, I might be switching to Sunline from Seaguar.

From: Cade: Texas 5/23/22

Comments: Information for the first time buyer. Sniper is a very nice line, uniform in diameter, ties good knots and is slick. and may add 5 ft. to your casts but....... Sniper has more stretch than I prefer for pitching. So, I now buy Shooter. Shooter has much less stretch and seems even more uniform and "heavier" in feel in the pitched line. So, if you are Pitching, etc. where hook penetration is important, the better line is Shooter. I spool with braid then tie 50-70 feet of Shooter on for Pitching to reduce costs. Hope this helps in line selection. I use 16-18 Shooter.....the fish can't break it.

From: Unknown: 4/19/22

Comments: Love the line when it's good but quality control may be an issue. From another supplier I bought a roll of 7lb that was severely kinked every 7 or 8 feet off the new spool. I returned it and received another spool in the same condition. I would advise you paying careful attention when putting on your reels.

From: Unknown: 1/3/22

Comments: Hands down the best overall flouro line on the market. 2 weeks ago during a tournament hooked one under a dock. Fish was wrapped around the dock poles on 16lb line and did not break off. Wrestled her out of there and landed a 5.5lber with 20 minutes left on the clock! I have had countless situations in which this line has landed me money-earning fish that other lines would have broke. Only brand I trust

From: Adam: Texas 11/5/21

Comments: After a bad year with #8 Trilene 100%, decided to give #7 Sniper a shot this season on my 3000 spinning reel... and the difference is just night and day! I use it for small swimbaits; several casts a day. Haven't had to change spool this season. It's VERY soft, little memory. Almost feels like my favorite mono. Spray on your favorite Line Cond and it'll last all season. Great knot strength, held up pulling a 2 pd Smallie out of grass. New Favorite, will be buying more spools.

From: Kevin: Washington 9/30/21

Comments: This is the best flouro I have tried, and I tried a lot of them. Back your reels with braid ( thanks Aaron Martens) and fill the rest with this. I use the 4lb and 7 lb, and as long as you spray on some line spray to keep the memory down  I haven't been disappointed at all.

From: John: New Jersey 6/2/21

Comments: Really nice fluoro. I use it as leader line for spinning setups. It's very abrasion resistant. I would say it's most similar to Seaguar abrazx. My fav fluoro for leader line for sure. Prob woudnt use as a full spool.

From: Jack: Minnesota 5/5/21

Comments: I tail hooked a GIANT carp and the line held up was able to bring it to boat 20 pound test but smooth cast and holds up well!

From: Unknown: 4/21/21

Comments: Never had an issues with Sniper, Assassin, Shooter or Natural. In various lb tests from 10-25. Sniper always casts fine. Always sensitive. Good abrasion resistance. No memory issues when you give it two shot sprays of real magic before you go out or the night before and no worries.

From: KG: South Carolina 3/29/21

Comments: Well crap! 165 yds per spool. Are you kidding me? 200 yds was perfect to do 2 reels, but 165 is too much for one, and not enough for two. What the heck Sunline? Looks like I'm going to have to either start buying this in 660 yd spools (probably what they want me to do), or look for another brand of line. I've been wondering if I should try Sufix Advance, this may just be the push in that direction I needed.

From: Unknown: 2/4/21

Comments: Wow, this is some good stuff. I used to use InvisX and AbrazX but this is just so much better, and also less expensive. I was throwing a dirty jigs guppy on 12 lb and got snagged and pulled as hard as I could and the hook snapped before my line did. It's also super smooth and the memory comes out after you take a few casts. I would strongly recommend this to anyone and it is now all I use.

From: DW: Fort Louden 12/27/20

Comments:  I'm not having any issues with the 20lb. I got one full up rod that I use for flipping a texas rig, and one that has this line as the leader that I use for frogs. Definitely great abrasion resistance and lower memory and it casts smooth. Maybe I got a better spool but some of my buddies are complaining of the line starting to get pretty bad, as if the quality control is starting to go away. That alone makes me reluctant to buy another spool. I fish the Toyota series in the FLW so I rely on this stuff to put money in my bank. Cant do that if the writing on the wall is saying buy elsewhere. I have Seaguar ABRAZX on my other rods and I like that stuff a lot too. It is really consistent among several spools. I think i'll stick to that instead.

From: Patrick: Spartangburg, SC 9/22/20

Comments: VERY DISAPPOINTED in this line now. 5 to 7 years ago I loved this line. I bought big expensive spools and loved it. I used to leave this line on my reels for a year, it was great. I don't know what they have done but it's terrible now. Please make the way you did before. Send me some when you put the original formula back in service.

From: Randy: Florida 9/17/20

Comments: DO NOT BUY THIS LINE! I bought a curado dc and I put this line on it (mind you it cost $25) and at first I liked it. After like a month the line started to twist and it was not as smooth anymore. I prefer Berkley 100%  flourocarbon becasue its cheaper and it last longer. This is my opinion, take it for what you will.

From: Bradley: El Paso, TX 9/10/20

Comments: I had recently switched over to Sunline Sniper after reading alot of great reviews about it.  Well .... I am not impressed at all.  It's great as a leader line..... but that's it IMO.  I had one spinning reel spooled and the after about 2 hours out on the water it would barely cast smooth at all.  I didn't overfill the spool and wasn't overcasting.  It held up pretty well on a 5 lb sheep head.  I spooled a buddies spinning real with it and the first couple hour outing was great.  The next day, the memory was horrible. It was 12lb test.  I will only use it as a leader until the spools run out then I am switching back to what I was using previously.  I jumped in head first and ordered 3 bulk spools as I replace my leader line and the 2 baitcast reels that I have spooled with straight fluro are replaced fairly regularly.  Sorry Sunline.  Maybe something got changed in the manufacturing or I just got a bad spool or 2.

From: Jeff - Canada 8/26/20

Comments: My favorite FC Line. Had 16 pound spooled up fishing a Texas rig and made a pitch into a pretty thick laydown. Hooked into a 4 pound fish that got me all wrapped up in the wood. Had to go in and get him but line held up great.

From: Andrew: Fresno, CA 5/19/20

Comments: Maybe I got a bad batch, but after seeing countless reviews and videos talking about how great this line was I got some. I got 14lb line normally what I throw 1/4 oz jigs on. While the line is sensitive and cast pretty nice, it breaks incredibly easy. I lost two jigs on hook sets both times the line snapped at the tip Of my rod. After losing my second jig I took the line off and replaced it. I don't think I'll be spending money on this line again.

From: Trevor: California 5/25/20

Comments: Very disappointed in the 16lb and 20lb Sniper.  I ended up stripping it off both my swim jig rod and my plastic/pitching rod after breaking off several fish.  I had heard great things about Sunline Sniper but will never buy this again.

From: Matt: Illinois 5/3/20

Comments: This line is not as supple and as low memory as it was a few years ago.  Strength is there, but the price for this line was strenth + castable + low memory, which it has lost now.

From: Zach: 4/24/20

Comments: Just a great 'all around' Fluoro.  Can be used on casting gear or flipping setups.  Super strong and excellent abrasion resistance.  I typically spool SX1 braid to a Super FC Sniper leader on my spnning setups and really think its the way to go.  Like any 'non-braid' fishing line, its just good practice to re-tie every so often as that knot gets stressed from hook sets and abrasion.  Super FC Sniper and a good, fresh knot is fool proof and crazy strong.

From: Dan: Iowa 4/15/20

Comments: This line used to be much better than it is today. I think that as this line gained popularity, sunline had to change the manufacturing process to keep up with demand. Something was lost in this change. The line still ties great knots, but memory is a massive issue, and abraision resistance has also declined. Memory is so bad that I've had to move on to another line.

From: Unknown: Indiana 3/8/20

Comments: I've got this in spools from 7lb to 14lb in my box. It's my first choice when fishing jigs and plastics. I rarely break fish off, and with a good SD jam Iine strengthens the knot is great. Line memory is average above 10lb, but I keep my line fresh by using half a spool of 12lb mono as backing on my casting setups. When I start to notice mono showing through after several trips, I respool a fresh topshot and save a little money. If I need a supple line for reaction fishing or a spin setup with straight flouro, Seaguar Invizx gets the call. Best two flouros for the buck IMO.

From: Chris: Lancaster 11/7/19

Comments: This is my second review.  Still love the line, but I'm gonna stay 14# and below.  My experience has been the "memory" goes up substantially from 16# on up.  I still use it, but I have to regularly use line conditioner to reduce the coils and memory.  Sunline makes the smallest diameter line I have found and to me that is the key ingredient in my choice.  Plus, the value of Sniper is the best as you always get more for you money compared to other brands.

From: Coach: Shell Knob, MO 9/27/19

Comments: I boat flipped a 5lber on 14lb sniper while fishing a shakey head under a dock. Impressive line

From: Unknown: Louisiana 9/22/19

Comments: Birdnest after birdnest after birdnest. Has the most memory of any fluorocarbon line I've tried. Ruined my day of fishing and I will not be buying this again.

From: Unknown: 9/22/19

Comments: Incredible line. Great sensitivity, excellent abrasion resistance, and a very supple/manageable line compared to many brands. Low stretch too, which cannot be said about some brands of FC. Over ~2 seasons of using this line I have only had two break-offs with the 16lb test and none on the 20lb test. And both break-offs on the 16 were from pickerel so not much you can do about that. Be aware that the pound test ratings for this line are higher for the equivalent diameter, so if you are used to buying 12lb line in other brands make sure to purchase the equivalent line diameter for similar strength. 16lb test Sniper is the same diameter as many other brand's 12lb test.

From: Dave: New Hampshire 6/12/19

Comments: Over the last 10 years of fun fishing and tournament fishing with clubs, benefits, and college tours out of all the lines I've used this stuff has hands down been the most manageable, abrasion resistant, great knot strength lone I've ever used. Day in and day out this line has never failed me. I've used every test size from 6 to 25 and never had an issue with any technique on any body of water. From Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend to Falcon and Amistad several lakes and river systems in between this line has never not done its job for me. I've caught 6s and 8s on 6-12lb test and other big fish around lay downs, docks, brush piles, culverts, shell beds and other hard on your line types of cover and structure. This line will help you put fish in the boat. The only fish I can recall losing sense using this lone have been due to user error.

From: Cole: Lumberton, TX 5/13/19

Comments: I've been using floro for years.  Last year I had to pick up a spool of the 16 lb Sniper right before a tournament, because my normal Floro (InvizX) wasn't available.  I was pleasantly surprised at the strength and suppleness compared to InvizX. I found a new go to line.

From: Mike: Peshtigo, WI 4/4/19

Comments: I fish the 14lb and man does it cast good! It handles fish great (all sizes obviously) and gets them out of cover quick. I have it on my shimano caenan on a 6'9" mh and i have caught countless fish with this line

From: Dustin: Fairhope, AL 4/3/19

Comments: I fished this FC in 14lb throwing paddle tails over the summer with no problems. The line is very castable, forgiving, and strong. I haven't had any unintentional break-offs yet. This is the best Sunline line I've used but I haven't noticed much difference between this and Seagar.

From: reellife: Ga  1/31/19

Comments: This is the best Fluoro I've ever used. It lasts forever on a real and continues to perform every time. The only time I replace it is when the line length eventually gets too short from constantly re-tying new lures. It's worth all 20$ of it and then some.

From: Tp: Oc, Ca 1/31/19

Comments: Best Fluorocarbon line I've used.  The cast ability is good but the knot strength is awesome.  I have several 1,000 yard spools of Inviz X now setting on the shelf simply because the knott strength and abrasion resistance of the Sniper is superior.  I can't believe the bad reviews I've read.  One throwing a whopper plopper (use braid there), one using a heavy action rod with sixteen pound line (use a medium heavy rod).  This line is the deal.  Buy the 660 yard spools  the case helps you spool it up.  Very Good Product!

From: Randy: Streetman, Texas  12/13/18

Comments: Don't agree with the guy below. This line is far by far superior to seaguar lines with same lb test. Significantly better than invisx, a little better than abrazx give or take, and not nearly as good but a lot cheaper than tatsu. Sniper outfished 3 to 1 vs invisx with better sensitivity, less stretch, and seemed even more "invis" no pin intended. Best fluoro imo only tatsu tops sniper but you'd have to use a higher lb on tatsu, sniper works well on all lb's, and it's a waste using tatsu as leader so you kind of have to go full spool of tatsu vs sniper which you can use for more applications.

From: Unknown 11/12/18

Comments: The lighter line break strength is really low. Do not recommmen anything under 12lb. Bought some 6lb for drop shot rod, line breaks consistently versus seagur of same LB.  the 12lb works great on my jig and crank rod

From: JRB 11/4/18

Comments: I've snapped  the 12lb. test line at least 5 times on a hook set. I even use a knot that's designed for Flourocarbon lines. This line does cast great and has low memory but I'm losing too many fish. I'm going back to Pline or Gamma!

From: Unknown - 10/27/18

Comments: The best fluorocarbon I have used! This line is very supple and casts amazingly. Minimal stretch and very sensitive. Only knock on it is the abrasion resistance. I use 16 pound and while it will hold on and I haven't lost a fish yet, fishing around rocks I find myself retying more often then other lines. However it is still my favorite line out there!

From: Patrick: San Diego, California  9/23/18

Comments: I use the 12 lb. for all my cranking with a bait caster. I also use this line as my leader line to braid. Hardly ever have a failure, if so it is usually a bad knot on my part. This line is like all fluorocarbon, it will break lots of times after a bad backlash (when the line is pinched extensively), but that is the nature of the beast. Sunline Sniper is the only fluorocarbon line I use. I've tried them all, this is the best by far. Just AWESOME line

From: Laura E: Asheville NC 9/18/18

Comments: When I stated using (powerpro/sufix832) braided line 10 years ago, I never thought that I would be using anything else because of the no stretch and sensitivity that braided line  offers versus anything else.  I have used  others; mono, fluorocarbon, nylon, and a hybrid lines.  I gave up on them because with these lines, you have to give up on either one or the others.  However, I have heard the praise of Sunline FC sniper and decided to give it a go.  It was mind blowing, I couldn't believed such a product exists with lines other than braided.  I am sold, the line is strong, and sensitivity, almost as braided.  I also like that it is a very small line diameter vs other lines.  I owned both 10lbs and 12lbs: super smooth line!

From: Bass_Slayer: CA 8/17/18

Comments: Should have stayed with the one and only SEAGUAR!! Recently I was on a river comp, for a league, and grabbed some fc sniper in the #16lb, it was a last minute choice because the test I was going to grab in my regular line was unavailable, always heard sunline was good. Some of my favorite pros use it.. I put on curado 71, on a 7'1 heavy. My jig stick.. i didn't use untill I needed last fish in bag, two smallmouth in a row break off !! Not on knot, it was fairy close to reel.. I was so mad ,I about tossed rod & reel.. casted well, but because i lost not one but two in a row  , fish I needed!! I will never use or recommend to anyone!! I have never broke off on hook set or knot on seaguar!! Should have just grabbed bigger test in my regular line.. two thumbs down!

From: Justin: MN 7/30/18

Comments: Flip flopping to idea of swithing to floro i decided to try another brand..about half the price...i spooled it up and it was super stretchy and i didnt like it at all..but i used it for a while to give it a fair chance.. After missing many many hook sets i pulled it off.. weeks later i felt like with the floro i was getting more strikes with where as with braid i was not getting any.. So again i pulled the trigger on this line..so glad i did. I have not had any issues with hook sets line snaps no nothing. Note: 12lb seems to have a bit more stretch then say 16, still not a factor and much less then the other brands. Gear used: aldebaran has 16# for wacky 3 daiwa steez svtw... 1with braid the other 2 have 14# which i use for cranks and traps. Pros: price (comparing to others) Stretch(very very minimal) Cons: none

From: Olman: Swfl 7/29/18

Comments: Bought two spools of this and I can honestly say it was the worst fluorocarbon I have used I lost my whopper plopper when the line snapped at the reel. I will give it another try with my second spool if the same happens I will movebon.

From: Juan: Santa Barbara 6/11/18

Comments: Tried a few other 100% floro and found 1 other that was usable. Problem is it had so so much stretch. Tried this because of the reviews in 12 and after a bit i found to be very impressed.
Ordered some 14&17 for wacky and traps and after a month of use i have had NO break offs and the line is still in the same shape it was when i put it on.. low memory and great casting ability. I use a polymar knot with lots of spit and i retie after so many bass. This line is on all reels except for my frog reel. At this price point try it ya might agree with me..half the price of tatsu..

From: Olman - 5/25/18

Comments: I really don't understand the bad reviews.... I don't usually write reviews but this line has landed many spots over 5 pounds and even a 30 plus pound striper on a drop shot with 7 pound line. I absolutely love this stuff in 7 pound! I also like the 16 pound. I have used the seven pound for over a decade! Great product!

From: Victor - Georgia 5/5/18

Comments: Super FC Sniper Fluoro is the best Fluoro line I have ever used. It has great abrasion resistance and cast very well. I use 6 and 8 lb test on my spinning rods and use larger line diameters for my baitcasters whether I'm fishing jigs/worms or crankbaits. The only thing I don't use this line for is when I am fishing topwater lures as the floating ability of mono helps me fish my topwater lures more effectively. This year in the 660 yard spools Sunline has changed their container that holds these larger spools. Now the containers are barrel shaped and has a slot to put your line through for ease of spooling your favorite baitcaster. I won't help your spinning reel respool it is a great idea for use spooling a baitcaster.

From: Stan: Georgia 3/23/18

Comments: I have 12lb spooled on my crankbait setup.  I was initially concerned with the line memory that fluoro is known for and the fact that backlashing my reel was going to be a bad problem.   A little spritz of KVD line conditioner and all those problems were gone.  The line is supple, very quiet through the guides and it casts a freaking mile.  I actually had to adjust the cast control and breaking system on my reel to account for the distance.  I'm not sure why others are complaining about knots coming undone or line failing.  Uni-knot to lure and you'll never have a problem.....and if you take care of your reel after use, the line works fine.

From: Phil: Houston 2/6/18

Comments: I have used the 16lb and 25lb for tuna fishing this year and it has not failed me yet. Caught 4 bluefin 15-20lbers on the 16lb with not problem. Cheaper than the seaguar blue label or blackwater 30 yard spools.

From: Unknown - San Diego, CA 12/20/17

Comments: This line is Awesome! I've been using this line for for about 5 yrs now and feel it's by far the best. I've tried a number of other Floro's including InvizX before settling on the FC Sniper. It's by far more supple than any other  and has excellent line strength. After reading a number of these reviews I believe the reason anglers complain about breakoffs and tangles is based on their thumb control and brake settings. Guys if you pick up this line tighten down your breaks until you get used to how much easier it is to cast. And if you get a birds nest Do Not keep fishing, Respool. And never go into a tourney with out respooling all your lines, especially any that you've had a nest in.

From: Unknown - 12/17/17

Comments: This is my go to fluorocarbon line. I use everything from the 7lb up to the 20lb and it's been a dream to work with. Give it a spray of KVD Line and Lure Conditioner before each trip and it performs like a dream.

From: Seth: Pittsburgh, PA 11/25/17

Comments: I bought a spool of 16 pound to try I've always been an Invizx guy but wanted to see what else was out there.  This stuff casts like a dream but the first 3 reels I used of it ALL broke inside the reel on casts all on the first trip out.  Unreal, I want to like this line but that in unacceptable.  When I contacted sunline they wanted me to jump thru hoops, forget that I'm headed back to Invizx I believe.

From: travis: kansas 11/1/17

Comments: Line this expensive should not break in the reel when pretty much brand new.  I spooled with the 7 lb and had used the reel/line 1-2 times and it pretty much just broke like sewing thread.  Sunline, you used to be sooo good, has your quality control department done r-u-n-n-o-f-t?  In fairness a 10lb spool I bought about the same time seems to be performing but at this price point the performance should be uniform across all the pound tests.

From: fatswarcat: Tennessee 10/15/17

Comments: I have been using Sunline products way before it came in North America Market. Their Shooter Super FC Sniper are awesome FC Lines and I only use it on my FLW tournament. until today: I purchased a bad spool 5lbs. Poor knot strength. I called Sunline America reported the line issue and possible claim the warranty according to their website. ( they are not a cheap line) What a surprised poor customer service, I was treated like a beginner fisherman. He was telling me how to tied knot and he was not intend to resolve or investigate the problem of the product very disappointed such a good company having poor after sales service. I lost confident on Sunline and would not use it again.

From: NY: Canada 10/13/17

Comments: Experiment over. Never again. Never again will I use this. I lost two tournament fish in two trips on this flouro. 16lb test, broke about a foot above the reel on a hookset. My hookset is not that big. That should never happen, let alone twice. My 12lb Vicious Elite never does that, and it's rated 4lbs lower. Lesson learned, I found a line that works amazingly for me and I should have stuck with it instead of reading the hype machine and being curious. If you have a good line, don't try to solve a problem that doesn't exist!

From: Joe B: IL 9/20/17

Comments: I haven't tried enough brands of fluoro lines to really have an authoritative opinion, but this stuff, at least in 12lb, is far more manageable than Seaguar Red Label (gee, who would have guessed?) and while not quite as supple as InvisX, doesn't feel like fishing with a rubber band either. Look it up. InvisX regularly tests as one of the highest stretch fluoros on the market, often stretching way beyond modern co-poly mono lines. It's handy for crankbaits though. Mostly, I wanted to point out a strange issue I've had with every freshly loaded spool of Sniper that I've had. First cast, despite what I believe to be proper line-winding technique, brake and tension setting, etc. results in a pretty terrible backlash. Get that all nice and fixed up and it's good to go for a few months. It's gotten to the point where I've learned to expect it and the initial backlash hasn't been so bad. Still a weird phenomenon for an otherwise excellent (and upmarket) line though.

From: Daniel: Harrisonburg, VA 8/25/17

Comments: Not a very good experience with this line. Constant breaks and very bad tangles on multiple spools of line. This line binds up so much when trying to take out a small overlap in the line. You have to take out half the spool, and I always use line conditioner and it still does it. I habe switched to seaguse and am currently using the red labell and it blows sunline out of the water In memory and price. No binding. No going crazy on a hard cast. Completely  satisfied with SEAGUAR not sunline. Save yourself the time and money and buy SEAGUAR.

From: Gino: Valley city, ohio 8/24/17

Comments: Best fluorocarbon out there!! Extremely strong, only broke off 1 time in a whole year off using this line! Extremely soft and has great castability! It is a bit pricey! So I'm gonna try Assassin. But I would highly recommend this line!

From: Cavan: VA 8/17/17

Comments: I read the reviews of the line before I bought it and it all seemed great. When I spooled up my new reel with 12lb line, I absolutely hated it. The line had so much memory making it hard to deal with and I ended up getting birds nest after birds nest. I just made the switch to Seaguar InvizX and absolutely love it. Very little memory and casts like a dream.

From: Ben: San Francisco, CA 8/16/17

Comments: I am a big braid fishing line advocate, however when I have to use fluoro for say finesse or super clear water applications this is the best fluorocarbon line I have found.

From: Tim: MN 7/27/17

Comments: THIS LINE IS THE BEST OUT THERE!!! this stuff is the only fluorocarbon is use. Its is extremely strong and sensitive!! I use #12 for cranks and jerkbaits, use #16 for bottom baits like jigs and t-rigs. This stuff is so strong, when I get snagged I have trouble breaking the line, and have only broke off 1 time on a fish (which  was my fault forgot to retie after getting snagged) I have used this line for a uear and will continue to do so. GET THIS LINE!

From: Cavan: VA 7/9/17

Comments: I've been using the 12lb for a few months now.  The line is super smooth, fairly memory free. One thing I did notice was how soft this line is. Cast very well. Now for the bad.  I've have way too many random break-offs. Several times, after making a long cast, I would begin reeling and the line randomly breaks on the spool.  I've had to hand line 50+ yards of line and lure in multiple times, and re-tie. After having done this again yesterday, I'm making the switch to another line. Maybe P Line tacticle. Other than that issue.  The line is great.  I've heard others having this same problem with the 12lb. Other pounds in the brand seem to be ok.

From: Unknown - 6/25/17

Comments: Initially, I liked this line, but have changed my mind as the line has more memory than Einstein, particularly the 12 # test.
Gave this line a more than fair test, but won't be buying any more. Going back to Stren Mono, which, in our opinion, is the best value for the money and a very high quality line.

From: Blake - Dallas, TX 5/29/17

Comments: Line is junk, decent at best on casting tackle with several break offs. Retying often and using line conditioner with 20lb test. On spinning tackle the 10 lb line turned my stradic c14 into a paperweight. Knots and memory were a huge issue and no the line wasn't spooled on using a pencil. The casting distance and the way the line barely flowed through my guides was terrible. You could hear it as it struggled though the guides and watch the huge coils in the line slowing down by the first guide. I never got to test its durability because i couldnt even fish with it. Tried to throw a senko and skip docks and drag from the line made it impossible to even skip it more then two feet. 660 yards of line got cut off from my 6 spining rods because me and my wife could not even fish with it. It worked the same with all combos. A skeet dropshot rod, a denali custom dropshot jadewood, a fishing 13 omen, and a lews tournament all with mid high end shimano reels. Bought this to compare to seaguar invizx and its not even close. I would trust the fish of a lifetime to a spool of berkely vanish before this garbage.

From: Joe: Wisconsin 5/21/17

Comments: I have made the switch from braid to fluorocarbon...I know crazy. I got tired of having to tie up leaders and worry about 2 knots rather then one. Since switching i had alot less fish loss on my crankbait/Chatterbait setups. I get a better feel on bottom baits also. Been using the 16lb with no issues. I will stick with braid to flipping on frogging from now on.

From: Jonathan: Port charlotte 3/11/17

Comments: I'm a big straight-line guy - I'm not a fan of using leaders, I tried it for years and it's frustrating to maintain and play musical rods/reels with. With a single line, I can tie on any bait and go without having to adjust my leader length, tie a new leader, or switch around from rod to rod. That being said - THIS is line straight line I use on most of my gear. It is absolutely the best fluorocarbon out there in my opinion. Having started out with Trilene Pro 100% (which is about the crispiest and stiffest fluoro you can buy) and then moving to Seaguar InvizX (better, but still a lot of memory), this line is truly the Cadillac of fluorocarbon line. I use the 10-pound, 12-pound and 14-pound lines. This line is as manageable as a premium monofilament; I would compare it to Yo-Zuri Hybrid (another line I used for years), but much smoother, and of course it sinks like a true fluorocarbon. Perfect for any bait I need to get down deep and have the line stay invisible. It's slick and casts easy, and ties strong knots every time. As with any mono or fluoro line, putting conditioner on the line (or spool) regularly will prolong it's life and reduce "spool memory". Storing it tight/dry on the spool will cause the "corkscrew" effect on any line the next time you go to cast. I put conditioner before/after each use and this line stays limp, manageable and strong until the next use. Overall this is excellent line! Worth the money for straight line users as well as leader material!

From: Matt: Northern CA 12/11/16

Comments: I've used the Seagar 20lb Flippin line and was not impressed with its stiffness and heavy memory. Switched over to Sniper 20lb and it's been a night and day difference. Minimal memory and excellent strength. Recommend this all day everyday.

From: David: Central Florida 12/27/16

Comments: Been using 8 & 12# Super FC Sniper. I absolutely love this line. Made switch after having issues with previous brand. This line is supple, strong & great price. It is more sensitive & casts further than my previous line

From: Mike: Logan, IA 7/6/16

Comments: I've been using the #12 on a Lew's Mach 1 mh300 & the line itself is great. Unfortunately the line also has a tendency to slip off the spool & twist. I think a #12 may be a bit too heavy for this setup & will probably go down to an #8 to see if it holds up any better for me for the finesse setup I want it to be. Definitely makes a great leader for my baitcaster setup!

From: Ivahl: Maplewood, MN 5/17/16

Comments: GREAT line. Diameter allows me to go up a notch & still get excellent results. Instead of using 10# for jerkbaits, I use 12. Same thing for cranking. It has a long life. I fish very clear water year around and this is my line of choice for any bait that I need maximum depth.

From: Coach: Owasso, OK 5/2/16

Comments: 3 yrs of using 16# for swim jigs football jigs in big rocks flipping into heavy cover & dock fishing. Best floro I have used tried 4 other brands before this. I replace every two months. Can honestly say I have not been busted off more than 2 times in three years. Boated two 45 to 50 inch muskie on it last fall. I will have it on 8 reels this yr. Best line I've used.

4/16/16

Comments: for a trip to a cool little lake filled with monsters, I stocked up on some 12 for cranking. It held up to fishing in the trees and multiple 5s and 6s. One break-off, but the fish got me wrapped up in some gnarly junk. This line is super duper good.

From: Jay6: USA 2/15/16

Comments: I've been using this line for about 3 months and recently landed my personal best 11lb 4oz largemouth using 10# FC Sniper on a M-action baitcaster. Long casting, low memory, invisible to the fish, and plenty of strength to haul in that monster. Best fluoro I've tried. Check for abrasion and stretch often and re-tie as necessary (as you should with any line) and you'll be impressed.

From: Galen: CA 12/29/15

Comments: Love the way this line handles. Comes off the reel without a lot of memory. Great sensitivity in deep water. Only complaint is that it is not very abrasion resistant. I fish football jigs in deep rock piles & have broken off a bunch of jigs under very light pressure. Going back to Seagar AbrazX.

From: Glenn: Shrewsbury, MA 11/2/15

Comments: I got 3 spools, 8/12/20 lb test. The 8 works great on drop shot spinning reel. The 12 is awful. I'm breaking line on hook sets and with fish making deep runs. Drag is set at 7 lbs so I'm not pleased. The 20 lb stuff is awesome. Virtually bulletproof. After loosing half dozen football jigs last week and breaking off two worms tonight it's getting replaced.

From: Stephen: Nacogdoches, TX 7/18/15

Comments: Just bought a spool of the 4 lb test and used it trout fishing at Bennett Spring State Park, this is a spring fed stream so the water is very clear. The line performed great, I believe it improved my hook up ratio with the low stretch and invisibility. First time user of this line and very impressed! I will be switching out my bass reels next, thanks sunline!

From: Blake: Hannibal, MO 4/21/15

Comments: This is absolutely the BEST fluorocarbon line on the market, PERIOD! I've used many other fluorocarbons, including Berkley 100%, and nothing compares. I've used 14 lb for everything from crankbaits to jigs, chatterbaits, swim jigs and pitching and have never broken a fish. Probably the best thing yet it its the same diameter as other companies 10-12 lb line. SUPER THIN! I'm working on converting all my reels over to FC Sniper. Not a bad cost either! Thanks Sunline!

From: Tom: MN 4/6/15

Comments: It is amazing line, with great quality, and low stretch. It's worth a few extra bucks. If I am not using this I am using seaguar red label

From: Selfish Slug: Flowermound, TX 2/22/15

Comments: I use the 16 for little swimbaits and casting worms, works great. Abrasion resistance is also good. had a few angry green fish run me into some gnarly stuff and I still got them out and into the boat for a photo op. Worth the money, and if you take care of it, it will last 2-3 months. Seriously.

From: Jay6: USA 10/3/14

Comments: I think this is a really good line. It's very castable in most tests, sensitive and low stretch as you would expect. I use this for finesse fishing with light plastics and jigs. Haven't had any problems at all and would by again. Would recommend with enthusiasm. Tip o the hat to TW, great co. To deal with!

From: Tim; Private, ID 9/8/14

Comments: Sunline is pretty hit or miss for me. The last two spools performed flawlessly: great strength and castability, top-notch knot strength, etc. But the most recent spool of 12# I purchased is sub-par. It breaks easier than 6#, and knot strength is a 50/50 split between being fine and being terrible. I don't know what went wrong there, but I feel a little deterred by the performance of this spool. Still my go-to fluorocarbon, but I think it should at least have better quality control for a fairly expensive line.

From: Nick: CA 9/7/14

Comments: okay so I've been using this for a few months now and the line is strong casts well and hold up well. Never dropped a fish due to the line. But I have noticed that the memory on this line is actually pretty bad.. I use kvd line conditioner too and after flipping for 30mins the line has all kinds of twists and even when I set the hook I get a kink in my line from the tip of the rod. I use 16lb so it's not like I'm using light stuff. Not sure if I'll be getting more cuase I switched from berkley vanish and I didn't have this problem and never dropped fish either and it's cheaper.

From: Rob: NJ 8/21/14

Comments: Great fluorocarbon. I use this line in 12lb test for almost all of my bass fishing needs. This is a soft line that cast tremendously. But there is a negative that I only recently noticed.  After catching limits of white bass and stripers the line seemed weakened. It seemed thinner and more apt to breakage. This was the case with about the first 15 yards of line on the spool. After shedding 15 yards the lined returned to normal. I belief that the line stretches over time with out recovery. This would probably never show up catching black bass but when catching 25+ white bass and 5+ stripers the evidence was apparent those hard fighting fish wrecked the line. From here on I will step up to 14lb or 16lb when catching temperate bass in numbers.

From: Eric: Houston, TX 3/25/14

Comments: Great Fluorocarbon, spool it properly use KVD Line conditioner once or twice while spooling. I use the 12lb for crank baits, 14 for deep cranks and 16lb for spinnerbaits. Never has a bait flown off my reel. I use good reels that cast well.

From: Mike: Durham, Canada 3/14/14

Comments: This line is ridiculous! I throw all my traps with 16 lb test and have only lost about 2 traps over half a year time span. If you have problems breaking this line, its operating error, and you should get higher test line. I bought 16 thinking it may be a little to stiff of line, but its not and I could still cast traps, chatterbaits, jigs, you name a freaking mile! Best line on the market for fluoro!

From: Cass: AL

Comments: Every product is going to have its bad reviews, but I'm surprised on how many this line has gotten.  I've been using it for a couple of years now and every spool has worked flawlessly for me.  I use it on my REVO S in a 12lb test.  I like to fish rocky areas where there are deep drops and rarely had a problem with it breaking due to abrasion.  Not any more that I've experienced with the Shooter Metan or Tatsu lines.  It casts great and has very little memory.  One of the best flouros I've fished.

From: Milt: San Francisco, CA

Comments: I purchased some 6 and some 10 lb test line from TW. The 10lb test is awesome, the 6lb test breaks on hook set. From the reviews here, and from my personal experiences, it would certainly appear that either Sunline has quality issues, or that there is some other factor which can degrade their line. When it works it's great line, no doubt about it. The problem for me is that while it may well be a better line generally speaking than others, it is not so consistently enough for me. I wish this was no the case.

From: Lou: Middletown, Ohio

Comments:  I have been using this line for about two years now and it has proven to be the best line I have ever used. I fish on Lake Guntersville just about every week, and this line holds up to the Guntersville giants with no problem. I use 12 pound test for crankbaits and lipless cranks, and 20 pound test for my texas rigs and jigs. I've never had a problem with this line. Its a line you can trust to pull in those monster bass.

From: Lake Guntersville

Comments: The 20lb on my lexa is half ways by now. In 2 more months it be a full year that the line have been on the reel. Super strong with no problem. Best bang for the buck.

From: Sai

Comments: Great line, it never seems to nick, never seems to break.  It is just great line, soft, super tough.  I can not believe how well it works.  And I don't have to re-spool every two weeks.  This stuff lasts for months and I fish twice a week.  I can't see me ever buying another line.

From: Matt: Delaware, OH

Comments: Awesome line, no more problems with memory on this fluoro carbon. It is all they say and more, will be buying some large spools soon.

From: Charlie: Trenton,NJ, USA

Comments: This line is, in my opinion, the best fluoro on the market. Great castability, high tensile strength and abrasion resistance. I can even use the 10# for trout. I'm talking about a lake where the trout sometimes turn down a bait if it's presented on 6# mono. It's just that good.

From: Nicholas: CA

Comments: Just bought a spool of 14#. Not gonna use it just yet, waiting for the first reel that needs re-spooling. Although, the line feels really nice, strong, soft and thin. I'm a loyal InvizX fisher but i've read and heard good things so, we'll see. Btw, I think most of the price is to cover the box this line comes in, really nice packaging haha.

Comments:  I think Mark from WA meant that he bought a "spool" not a "reel" of 7lb test.  And I'm not sure how you install line, but whatever.  Comparing Vanish to Sniper is grounds for mutiny.  Sniper is one of the more managable fluoros you can get.  Great all-around fluoro with slightly more stretch than Shooter.

Comments: GREAT LINE!  I have been using InvizX on my spinning reels, but wanted to try this on one of my baitcasters and I will be buying more!  It's much stiffer than InvizX, but it still handles well compared to other Fluoros.  It's VERY sensitive, casts a miles, and so far has been very durable.  I've been fishing rocky banks of a local river and this line has been perfect for so far.  I will be converting some of my other baitcasters to this line.  DO NOT hesitate to buy it!

From: Keegan: Iowa

Comments: Bought two spools of 12# and one of 10 #. Liked it so much bought 660 yard spool from Tackle Warehouse. Fluorocarbon does take some practice but this is the best I have found. I prefer Sunline to all other Fluorocarbon and I have tried all the Seaguar products. Tatsu takes such a set as to make it unfishable. The Seaguar Red handles and casts better but not like FC Sniper or Super for that matter. Try the FC Sniper. You will not be disappointed.

Comments: With the hot summers in the south, this is the only flourocarbon that I don't have to change after one use. The sunline braid is even better, it's lasted for months on my cranking rods.

Comments: Very low stretch according to Tackletour, much less than Seaguar. I have been using 14lb fishing rock ledges and the line is very durable. Caught a 3lb and then a 5lb bass the other day fishing a hula grub around chunk rock, and the line didn't even need to be retied. Great line.

Comments: I have used this line in the 12 or 14# line size on every reel I own for about 2 yrs. now. Main use for me is on 1500R-Custom spinning reels on 7' rods. In that time fishing the Calif. Delta I have 10 fish between 11# and 15# and yet to have a break off on this line other than when snagged/hung up. Best line by far I have ever used!

Comments: Absolute favorite for any jig/soft plastic presentations in heavy wood or rocks. The 10lb FC on 10 braid fishing in 45 ft of water with a 1/4oz standup jig is nothing short of perfection on the right rod. The 12lb FC allows me to get a 5/16oz jig or 12" worm down to 30-50ft & still feel what my bait is doing. It takes the punishment like a champ.
