Overview

Although they can’t see it at first, predators in the neighborhood can feel its pulse, the Z-Man Evergreen Chatterbait JackHammer Stealth Blade delivers a sweet tune that pings lateral lines and incites mandibles to snap. The driving force behind the patented new ChatterBait design, a clear polycarbonate blade produces a totally different sound and vibration, but like its predecessor, starts thumping intensely with the first half-turn of the reel handle.

To stick any predator that takes a swing at the Z-Man Evergreen Chatterbait JackHammer Stealth Blade, it comes armed with a light, custom Decoy fluorine-coated hook, which allows the JackHammer StealthBlade to be cast on a slightly lighter line and penetrate the jaws of bass with less hook-setting effort. To preserve the StealthBlade’s high-level, ultra-durable JackHammer heritage and performance, silicone skirts are hand-tied with stainless steel wire. Dual wire trailer keepers pin soft plastic trailers in place for the long haul while the StealthBlade’s low center of gravity, fish-shaped head tracks true and skips easily. When the situation suggests a bladed jig, but instinct advises finesse, the Z-Man Evergreen Chatterbait JackHammer Stealth Blade becomes the smartest play of the day.

z man jack hammerjack hammer steath is the best avilable for stripers & bass. tighter wobble & vibration seems to be the ticket ! will work all year round if at right depth.

Different ThumpThis is a cool little chatter. It definitely gets bit. I find myself having to jerk it back into tune a lot more than a traditional one. That being said, it’s definitely not much of a slow rolling bait. This bait truly shines when you want to burn some shallow grass that is pressured. A little superglue around the skirt goes a long way.

Most important chatterbait in my boxThis bait is one of the best kept secrets in Florida. I am able to catch so many more fish in tough conditions with this chatterbait. The clear blade is great for clear water and has a very erratic action.

JackhammerLove them my favourite bladed jig so easy to start up and get that blade moving. Have both my PB smallie and largemouth on the 1/2 oz green pumpkin shad.

Quality w/ a subdued dull knockQuality components and great when you want a more dulled sound for something different. Works nicely in clear water fisheries, in particular. Catches quality fish! Solid paired with a spunk shad, zako, or turbo crawz, in my case.

Comments: Hate to leave this review because I think this is one of the most slept on chatterbaits. Don't want you all stealing my thunder! Lol I've caught so many nice fish on the black and blue stealth with a natural gill spunk shad trailer. Fish that didn't want the jackhammer couldn't resist the stealth!

From: JasonC: Charlotte, NC 8/16/23

Comments: Zman jack hammers have noticeably more vibration than other chatterbaits. They routinely out fish regular chatterbaits or spinnerbaits.

From: Michael: Avon, MN. 8/11/23

Comments: great bait. gets the bass excited. Need to work on the price....seems a little steep for the average fisherman.

From: Howard: Loda 7/24/23

Comments: These are incredible in clear Michigan lakes. I've had multiple days where this is the "magic" bait. I caught about 15 20"-23" SMB and a ton of nice LMB on them. They work great up in the water column, middle, and jumping off bottom. Very durable baits.

From: Sir Finesse: 7/9/23

Comments: Interesting bait, definitely has some applications but does not vibrate nor hunt the same as the regular jackhammer or even a minimax. It does excel in clearer or more pressured water. I don't think it catches as much grass due to the smaller blade. Also the line tie is different, it's more similar to the oblong O rings on say a KVD 1.5, rather than being a snap. Not sure if that has anything to due with the action. If you throw this i would recommend downsizing gear, going down a rod action and line size than your preferred jackhammer setup.

From: Jacob: NY 6/22/23

Comments: I bought this lure for clear and pressured water. It did not disappoint. My partner and I won the tournament and had big bass. Will definitely be buying more. Every lure has a place and time. This was it.

From: Patrick: IL 6/21/23

Comments: Really sad about this caught a lot of fish on it and the skirt got pulled down and eventually fell off.

From: Matthew: Iowa 6/22/23

Comments: Picked up a few of these and have been impressed. Works great on clear water or heavily pressured water.

From: Sibley: St stephens, Al 36569 5/8/23

Comments: Great on pressured water ! Spring up here in the northeast works well. Matches are bait well like to pair it up with kietch 2.8 !!!! I also like to fish it as a back up bait when fishing glide baits.

From: Stoney: Medway, Ma 4/9/23

Comments: Talk about an underrated lure. A lot of people won't throw this because it has a different vibration "feels" than most chatterbaits. This lure "hunts & searches" which I think draws a reaction bite alone. And I love this for any clear water situation or pressured fish situation.

From: Derek: Orlando FL 3/8/23

Comments: Love the stealth blade. I tend to fish this a lot at night around dock lights and underwater lights. Definitely a game changer in the tournaments!

From: Judd: Conroe Tx 2/22/23

Comments: The Jack Hammer Stealth Blade 3/8 oz has been THE Ticket for me and friends the last two weeks here on Headwaters Lake in east central Florida, accounting for our biggest bass of the year thus far. Great action, profile, and colors.

From: Major Meticulous: Grant, Florida 2/14/23

Comments: I really like this bladed jig. It excels in clearer water conditions and for highly pressured fish. This bait will cast far and the blade starts vibrating quickly upon the retrieve. I've caught many largemouths and smallmouths using this bait. It works well with a variety of trailers too. I have several colors in both 3/8 and 1/2oz sizes. This along with the MiniMax are my favorite vibrating jigs and I highly recommend them.

From: Unknown: Upstate NY 1/3/23

Comments: Just the right size for a more stealth presentation to copy bait fish. I chose the spot remover and bad shad trailer.

From: Eddie: 8/4/22

Comments: I fish mostly super clear water desert lakes. So the more subtle stealth blade approach will catch fish for me when they aren't real aggressive. I always have one tied on. Shad and bluegill are my go to colors.

From: John: AZ 11/2/22

Comments: Used the 1/2 ounce with a small grub as a trailer to catch a couple of 2+ lb bass off a drop off. It worked that day well. It is different and will get bit when the conditions require something more finesse or stealthy. Wished they made heavier versions.

From: Rich: TN 10/21/22

Comments: Picked up a couple stealth blades and used them on my Mega Bass Valkyrie with Tatula reel and proved to be very productive along a bank weed line. Fish seemed to go after this less intrusive bait.

From: Eddie : Hillister, Texas 9/11/22

Comments: I love this chatterbait, my lake is crystal clear and the stealth blade looks super natural. I love ripping it through grass, and it never gets hung up or covered in weeds.

From: ryan: austin texas 8/8/22

Comments: This bait is more of a finesse present that excels when you encounter relatively calm conditions. I use it with a medium action rod paired with a 6:1:1 reel and 12 lb fluorocarbon line. This set up maximizes casting distance so I can cover a lot of water in short order and land more fish. I highly recommend adding this to your arsenal.

From: Ed: Berlin 8/5/22

Comments: I definitely recommend this Chatterbait. They start vibration immediately compare to the original ones.

From: Unknown: 7/24/22

Comments: Awesome bait. Very good for those pressured fish

From: Preston: Baltimore, MD 7/21/22

Comments: Not a huge fan compared to the regular jackhammers. Not as strong of a vibration which is the main draw for the jackhammer IMO. I'll stick to the original jackhammer

From: Justin: Pennsylvania 7/18/22

Comments: I bought the 3/8s size and it's a tad small plus I wanted the plain Jack Hammer, not the Stealth but with a Swimon trailer and a Cat 3 teaser it will get down there!

From: David: KY 7/7/22

Comments: Great finesse version of the original JackHammer. It has a smaller baitfish profile that matches the hatch at my local lake very well. The Green pumpkin shad is my go-to color. I pair it with a shortened 4" Keitech Eazy Shad. Killer combo.

From: Pham: Ventura, CA 6/30/22

Comments: My favorite bladed jig for the clear water natural lakes of the Upper Midwest. Consistently out-fishes the Jackhammer for me. Love the Bhite Delight color with a 4.5" Green Pumpkin Spunk Shad for my lake with primarily bluegill, crappie, and small bass as forage species.

From: Tom: Wisconsin 5/13/22

Comments: I love this chatterbait. When the fishing pressure gets tough and everyone is throwing the regular jack hammer, this gets the job done!! I love it, swims amazing. The vibration is very subtle but with the right rod you can feel it. I will definitely be buying more!! Favorite colors would be spot remover, green pumpkin shad, and white.

From: Cheng: North Carolina 4/26/22

Comments: I have never caught a fish with a stealth chatterbait before. Still working on it. But the action on this bait and the stealthiness to it is bomb.

From: Bryce: Unknown 3/29/22

Comments: This is by far my favorite chatterbait from Z-Man. My only issue is that sometimes the wire holding my skirts in place will unravel...aggravating when you look at the price of these guys.

From: Dean: Unknown 3/1/22

Comments: I am so glad I bought one of these. I wasn't so sure about this bait at first but decided to get one when they were on sale. I am glad I did. This is a whole different bait from the regular jackhammer, and man does it catch fish. I use a Z Man goat as a trailer, and it works awesome as a finesse bladed jig. Will never leave the dock without one of these ever again.

From: Dylan: Minessota 2/23/22

Comments: I love the versatility of this bait and fish it all year round, works well through grass in early spring and summer, and pairs well with any trailer. Great search bait and big fish catcher.

From: Brian: Huntersville, NC 1/21/22

Comments: Really nice action and high quality components. They are now a permanent bait in my arsenal. These have caught me a lot of fish.

From: David: Azle, TX 1/19/22

Comments: The JH Chatterbait works really well in lots of conditions and the clear bladed version will fool fish when others haven't for me (saved a bunch on the 25 days of sale too).

From: Jeffrey: South Carolina 1/17/22

Comments: These are great! The chatter starts nice and slow, does not require a jerk to get it started. I was never a big fan of chatter baits until I tried these. 10/10!

From: Jared: Gettysburg 1/13/22

Comments: Honestly I feel this bait has better value than the original jackhammer. Chatterbaits have become so mainstream and this bait has made it become new again. Like most other reviews, works well in clear water but also gets a lot more bites overall than a normal chatterbait. This bait gets bites from smaller and larger fish which is great for a quicker limit of bass.

From: Derek: Orlando, Florida 1/5/22

Comments: Subtle action. Great for clear water, calmer conditions.

From: Merrel: Midlothian, TX 12/10/21

Comments: I really like these. They still have a lot of vibration but it is much more muted. I think they will work well in situations where a regular jackhammer is scaring pressured finicky fish.

From: Caleb: Alabama 12/9/21

Comments: Haven't caught a fish yet on this particular chatter bait but it is definitely more finesse as they claim.

From: Larry: Johnson City, TN 11/27/21

Comments: They keep getting bit as the water cools. Upper 40s still producing. Keitech style swimbaits work great as trailers and you don't have to flip or cut (tactical bassing). Do not hit anything during cast, it's not bulletproof (my fault). Must have, maybe year-round bait. I don't like the skirts, too finesse, so I change mine. That's a little tough for a $16. dollar bait.

From: Jethro: Md 11/22/21

Comments: I love these chatterbaits! The Spot Remover color works the best for me. There is one negative to these chatterbaits, the skirts will start to loosen and the bait gets distorted. I'm constantly having to rearrange the skirt, maybe a drop or two of super glue would help. I wish they would address this.

From: Uknown: Yukon, OK 10/22/21

Comments: So far this seems to be as good as the other chatterbaits, but with a larger blade it could be better. But as is, I still give it 4 stars

From: Wille: Oklahoma 10/10/21

Comments: This bladed jig has worked great for me. This model has a different sound and a slightly different look. I have fished areas that the water had been beat to death with chatter baits and spinners and had good success with the stealth. The mechanical/functionally of this lure has held up well for me. As others have noted the skirts don't hold up real well. Thats not the end of the world, when it gets messed up I take it off and use it later without a skirt to give another look, and done surprisingly well. These do operate more consistent with smaller trailers.

From: Jerry: North Carolina 10/9/21

Comments: Definitely more subtle as others have stated and I had issues with it not vibrating above a slow retrieve which someone said may be fixed by retying the knot; I'll give it a try. I will wait to buy more until I can at least get it to consistently work. Maybe changing my trailer to something with less action will help as others mentioned.

From: Robert: Virginia Beach, VA 9/30/21

Comments: This bait gets destroyed. One of the things I have learned is to not run your Keitech upside down with the stealth version, if you run it like a normal swimbait you get a ton more action.

From: Yeet: Alabama 9/28/21

Comments: I've been using the regular jackhammer with great success .Switch over to the stealth blade because the bite dropped off .On the first cast with a black/blue nailed a 3 lb.L. M. and after it was game on. I highly recommend having one tied on at all times.

From: Bill: Jackson, N.J. 9/24/21

Comments: Broke before I could even test it out. Got on a school of bass early morning and as I was throwing a soft jerk, I handed the Stealth Blade with a Zako to my fishing partner. She casted it once, it got snagged on some submerged vegetation, pulled one good tug to try to get it out and it broke right at the blade. The only thing that came back on the retrieve was the plastic blade itself. This would never happen with one of my normal Jack Hammers. Can't say I see any reason to buy another one as the durability seems too low for Florida Bass fishing.

From: Zack: Tavares, Fl 9/23/21

Comments: If the bait has no action, I recommend retying your knot. Had this happen to me this weekend. I've been using it in clear and dirty water, and it works. I throw it on 15 lb mono with a Zako trailer. I fish behind myself with this and catch extra fish that ignored my first pass with the OG chatterbait. If Uncle Jason says it works, it works.

From: Jason: New Jersey 9/13/21

Comments: I am a fan of the chatterbait family and absolutely love them, but I dont care for this stealth blade. I could tell if the blade was even moving most of the time. I quickly changed back to a regular chatterbait and now the stealth blade is very stealthy in my tackle box.

From: Keena: Toccoa, GA 8/19/21

Comments: Just what you expect from the jack hammer line. Preformed flawlessly and caught fish in the dog days of summer in Mississippi.

From: Rick: Canton: Mississippi 8/16/21

Comments: I bought one on accident. There alright. I felt i had to work the bait significantly faster to feel the vibration. For example, i got the 1/2oz and fish on 15lb fluro. To feel it vibrate coming back its at like only 3. Soooo its kinda just alright.

From: Josh: Illinois 8/12/21

Comments: Still new to this bait but so far they canât stop biting it. Less vibration, specific action. Best has been with a trailer with minimal action to make these fish bite more often. Good luck!

From: Ryan: California 8/11/21

Comments: Great bait. It's a different look for the fish, not as aggressive as the original Jack Hammer, but definitely catches fish

From: James: Baltimore, MD 8/9/21

Comments: I like the stealth blade. The vibration is more subtle. I was pre fishing for a tournament on a lake that is known for its chatter bait bite with the original chatter bait with no success and decided to change things up. Within ten minutes I two solid keepers in the boat. While I'm not wowed by the bait, I bellringer there are times the stealth blade will shine.

From: Michael: Texas 8/1/21

Comments: Found myself in clear grassy water during a tournament. Was fishing stained water catching bass on standard chatterbaits before the bite stopped and ad to move. Tried the stealth blade and picked up 3 more bass. I guess it works as advertised. Nice quick vibe you can feel right up the rod.

From: Jethro: Maryland 7/30/21

Comments: Have used it in 4 outings out in the delta and have caught some fish, but have not been wowed by the stealth blade yet.

From: Garrett: California 7/22/21

Comments: Love the smaller clear blade profile.  I have only found success in clear water, but in clear water its a killer weed line bait.

From: John: Calera, AL 7/14/21

Comments: Clear water slayer, and great for finicky fish. One tip, experiment with the retrieve. Nice edition to the line up

From: Unknown: 7/9/21

Comments: From the first time I opened the package these baits have caught fish.  With a Kietech trailer, the new blades caught heavily pressured fish that shied away from spinner baits and square bills.  Different look, different feel in the water has put fish in the boat for me consistently.

From: Rodney: Encinitas, CA 7/9/21

Comments: Soft stealth presence, works well with shad trailers

From: Unknown: 7/7/21

Comments: The stealth blade is just another line of quality product by Evergreen.  Not as noisy as the standard Jackhammer but still has the hunt action that they are known for.  Colors are great and the hardware is the best.

From: Unknown 7/5/21

Comments: This bait does have a softer presence. But, you have to trim the skirt down or use smaller trailers with less action to get it to consistently vibrate at slower speeds. You have to reel it fairly fast and pop it occasionally to get it consistently vibrating with larger trailers.

From: Unknown: Ventura, CA 7/3/21

Comments: Cool bait. Yeah, thumps a little less but that is sometimes what is needed when everyone around you is slinging a jackhammer.

From: Swayze: Minnesota 6/13/21

Comments: I liked the bait I just wish it thumped harder I like how it tracks and how it hunts I just really really want it thump harder I fish a lot of clear water lakes with a lot of weeds and I think this bait would destroy if it thumped like a Jack Hammer.

From: Richie: New York 6/8/21

Comments: Love the action and it does catch fish, it does also get hung on almost everything since it doesnât have a weedgaurd. This is more of an open water jig.

From: Zack: North Carolina 6/6/21

Comments: Nice and light, works at the lake I was fishing.

From: Unknown: Pacific Northwest 6/4/21

Comments: Starts vibrating immediately.

From: Andy: Mechanicsburg, PA 6/4/21

Comments: I love the flashy bladed jackhammmers to the these more subtle stealth blades! Got me 3rd last tourney on a overcast day first time trying em and in dingy murky water as well!!! Since every trip its lut a keeper/keepers in the boat. This uear alone 0ver 6 over 3.5lbs to 5.68 on Lakes in Kentucky. Good thing about the chatters are when u hang there easy to get back where they suspend...They are worth the 15.99 all day. Reason why it won best hard bait Icast 2020 is it straight catches pressured fish to others in calmer weather then the reg jackhammer. Windy ill go.flashy overcast ill.go stealth and subtle and it has really paid off!!! Love the Bret hite delight color and my whites and white/silver

From: William: Kentucky 6/3/21

Comments: Huge fan of bladed jigs but have always struggled with them after early spring due to clear water lakes! This thing is an absolute killer and so versatile!

From: Ty: 6/3/21

Comments: I bought this to fish for Michigan smallmouth and it's worked well so far. It doesn't thump as hard as a normal JackHammer but the smallies still smash it

From: Nick: Michigan 5/30/21

Comments: I love bladed jigs, but on the heavily pressured local lakes I worry the blade flash can be a negative.  Jumped at the chance to try the stealth. Caught fish like a champ.  Very durable with a strong feel in the rod tip.  Great addition to the bladed jig line

From: Rodney: Encinitas, CA 5/25/21

Comments: Great bait for shad spawn or in heavy shad fed lakes. Subtle enough to be something different to trigger bites

From: Unknown: Chilton, WI 5/21/21

Comments: Great bait for clearer water applications

From: Hutch: Fort Worth, TX 5/13/21

Comments: Wanted to try a jackhammer for a while and since I fish mostly clear lakes/ponds, opted for the stealth and was not disappointed. The subtle but steady thump of the blade is a game changer and really allows you to play with retrieve without losing that action. Caught a 2lb smallie first time out so yea, ya got a believer here!

From: Manuel: Chicago, IL 5/7/21

Comments: This bait looks great, swims great, and is one of the trending baits right now. Love it.

From: Mongzong: Fresno, CA 5/4/21

Comments: Great bait very versatile. I have caught fish on it everywhere I have used it.

From: Unknown: 4/30/21

Comments: I use it when I know it's a lot of chatterbait pressure around. It definitely has its place. I throw it on a medium rod.

From: Josh: Louisiana 4/24/21

Comments: Great subtle presentation option for a chatterbait which is perfect for when it's close to calm or slick waters. It's great when you don't need a lot of flash and don't want to hammer the fish with a ton of vibration.

From: EJ: Bellevue, NE 4/27/21

Comments: I'd purchase more. Definitely caught fish. Used down in Florida with strike king Rage grub as trailer.  Its a different feel. Not something the have seen before.

From: Billy: Wurtsboro, NY 4/15/21

Comments: The stealth blade has a much more subtle vibration than the original jackhammer, and as the blade is made out of some polycarbonate, probably lexan, the vibration is super tight and fast, comparable to a very fast vibrating lipless crank. The bait has a tendency to rise and is harder to get started than the regular jackhammer. Because of that you have to use a softer rod and lighter line. ( 12Ib test or lighter) to get maximum performance. This lure definitely has its place though, clear water fisheries with lots of smaller rock and smaller baitfish. I actually like the skirt better on the stealth blade though, very thin, finesse and has great action. The hook is awesome! Great stout hook with a very slick coating and a nice bend

From: Unknown: North Carolina 4/14/21

Comments: Not worth the money. For this price it should be vibrating the second I begin my retrieve. The original (4.99 at some retailers)actually starts shuddering sooner! I don't recommend this product. Regular jackhammers are awesome though.

From: Kevin: Gaithersburg, Maryland 4/10/21

Comments: I've thrown the stealth now on everything from 65lb braid to 12 lb test. The blade won't vibrate at slow speed. Great when your burning it but it still takes a long time to get started. I ended up putting it on a spinning rod to see if I just wasn't feeling the vibration...nope. I have heard great reviews but I sure can't find anything good

From: Unknown: 3/26/21

Comments:
Definitely a different feel from the usual jack hammer..good for clear water..definitely will shine on table rock and cleaner water.

From: Dale: Fort Scott 3/24/21

Comments: Best chatterbaits made and the new stealth blade is less vibration. Has a more Subtle presentation

From: Unknown 3/20/21

Comments:
Caught on this in grass lake when they would not touch the regular jack hammer save the day of fishing.

From: Farley: Blue ridge, Texas 3/3/21

Comments: The stealth blade is definitely different than the original jackhammer but different is not a bad thing at all. The Stealth Blade doesn't put out as much "thump" as the original Jackhammer, however, in clearer water or on a lake that is being pounded by traditional blades jigs this thing stands out. It has the same high quality skirts and hooks that the original Jackhammer comes with, but the main difference is the faster, tighter vibration that the Stealth Blade puts out. It wouldn't be the first lure I'd reach for in dirtier water but this lure will definitely have a place in my rotation.

From: Ol Jim: Kentucky 3/1/21

Comments: Not quite what I was hoping it would be.  The vibration on this bait is much more subtle than it is with the normal Jack Hammer.  I still have some experimenting to do, but as of right now, I will certainly pick up the normal Jack Hammer before the stealth version when I need to put a fish in the boat.

From: Ander: Killeen, TX 2/24/21

Comments: I didn't think I would spend this on a single bait, but i sure am glad i did. This bait performs so well, i have out-fished multiple anglers side by side. Confidence is amazing. Tackle Warehouse Top Notch.

From: John: Franklin, Ohio 2/11/21

Comments: Hey Guys and Gals when the go to bite dies down, pick up the stealth blade,it will get you those couple of bites you need, definitely a must have for your backup plan.great finesse bait!

Comments: I bought this bait in mind that 8/10 Bass I catch are spots. I fish heart well, keowee a lot and both of them are fairly clear and the og jackhammer still work I seem to get more bites on this because of the smaller profile and land more of them because of the sticky 4/0 hook instead of a 5/0 heavy hook on the og jackhammer. Pair this up with a z man razor shads and hold on for dear life!

From: Dillon: South Carolina 1/29/21

Comments: These are nice and well made.Threw it around a few times to compare it to the regular jackhammers I ordered as well and it got a few strikes and a couple bass.Great lure.Only complaint is that it does not start up on the blade as easily as the regular jackhammer...sometimes I have to pop the tip a bit to start it vibrating then it goes.

From: Casey: Texas 1/27/21

Comments:Great reaction bait! My go to when bite is slow!

From: Eddie: Dunedin, FL 1/15/21

Comments: Great addition to the Z man line. The stealth is a great cold water bait. It feels a little dift than the Jackhammer but starts and stops well like it's older brother. Pairs really well with the Hog Farmer 3.5 shad. I'm currently frozen out but casts well in my front yard!!

From: Mark: St. John 1/14/21

Comments:Great bait to locate fish, and catch one when it seems nothing else works.

From: Brian: Charleston, WV 12/29/20

Comments:You get what you pay for. With all jack hammers they just flat out work. The thumping is more subtle than the jack hammer with the metal blade but I like it a little more when the water gets colder. 10/10.

From: Unknown: 12/28/20

Comments:Best bait for over pressured fish.

From: Unknown: 12/25/20

Comments: The Stealth Blade has a faster softer vibration that is comparable to a Thunder Cricket not the hard thump of the original Jackhammer. It is a good alternative when you are fishing in highly pressured water and the fish have seen a 1000 Jackhammers swim by. The Stealth Blade will help you catch that finicky fish that wouldn't commit to the competition's flashy hard thumping bladed jig and nothing is better than coming behind the competition and catching a keeper that they left behind lol.

From: Chris: Illinois 12/23/20

Comments:Good option for clear water for sure. More of a slow roll technique.

From: Steve: Miss Point, MS 12/19/20

Comments:Functional but more subtle than the regular Jack Hammers. Biggest problem I've noted with them is that if you're fishing any "stringy" type vegetation, they tend to foul very easily. They probably are of more value when fishing clear water, rocky type lakes without much vegetation. Have seen a number of reviews that talk of the skirt being easy to become untied, but haven't seen it myself.

From: Calvin: Houston, TX 12/19/20

Comments:The first fish I caught on this bait was 4.5 lbs. It's a great shad imitation and it gets bit in tough conditions. I fish it exclusively on fluorocarbon. It has just right amount of vibration.

From: Alonzo: Fort Lauderdale, FL 12/17/20

Comments: Warning, make sure you use the correct correct knot when tieing. I lost one bait because the knot came loose due to all the vibration. So far I love it!

From: Mauro: Eagle Lake, Texas 12/12/20

Comments: This bait will get you bit . It does exactly what it is designed to .It is not designed to fish fast. Also itis not designed to fish on heavy line. I throw it on Revo Premier 7:3:1, 10lb/12lb Seaguar Flouroon a Dobyns Fury FR 705CBrod. It starts thumping on the first turn . I caught fish on my first 3 cast with this thing . Thanks Tackle Warehouse and Zman.

From: BigBoyBassin: Alabama 12/12/20

Comments: I like that it has a more subtle action and in super clear water you don't have the flash. The skirt being tied is way better than a rubber band. I have had a small crack that's started in the blade already and I haven't used it that much and it hasn't hit anything(dock/rock/etc) so not sure about its durability yet. It does need to be reeled in a lot slower than a normal chatterbait. Overall I think it will work well especially going back thru already covered water.

From: Rudy: Bossier City12/4/20

Comments:Definitely more subtle and it catches fish. Can't figure out if I like it or not. You can't reel it fast or it blows out/stops vibrating. Must reel slow to have it consistently vibrate.

From: David: CA 11/24/20

Comments:This is by far the absolute worst chatterbait zman has made you need about a 10:1 gear ratio to get this things moving. highly disappointed

From: Jake C: Massachusetts 11/19/20

Comments:Definitely more subtle. doesn't thump as hard but seems to vibrate quicker. Definitely a bait to have in your box. Kind of like the difference in a regular red eye shad and the tungsten model.

From: Dylan: North Carolina 11/16/20

Comments: This does have a whole new feel over the normal metal blade. The vibration is changed and Im sure the sound in the water is. Its more subtle and more finesse feeling. So far used it a bunch no issues I would think that eventually the blade will wear out.

From: Kevin: IL 11/17/20

Comments:
The bait gets bit! However, the skirt durability is ridiculously poor...they do not stay tied.

From: Mike: Greenville, NC 11/2/20

Comments: This compact chatterbait, has the low profile, I wanted. It does catch fish, with a ketech 2.8 trailer, that matches the skirt. Hook is very sharp. They did a good job in design, and profile. They should have the hook, rotating.

From: DAVID: Kissimmee, FL 11/2/20

Comments: It catches fish!! It has a different vibration then the original jackhammer so don't expect it to fill the same. It fills a little softer and faster to me.

From: Michael: Cropwell, Al 10/26/20

Comments: Bait tracks straight with good action, works well with grub trailer.Easy to skip under docks.

From: Klinten: Greenwood 10/26/20

Comments: Awesome bait. A great finesse option in the Chatterbait line.

From: Cody: Atlanta, Georgia 10/25/20

Comments: Love it. I think it's a hit. It has a subtle action as opposed to the original jackhammer.

From: Wesley: Evansville 10/22/20

Comments:I've used this product twice and I would not recommend it. It will not perform at high speed retrieves.

From: Unknown - 10/19/20

Comments: This will work in heavily pressured water, some concern about the hook vs cover vs braid

From: Curtis: Lithia, FL 10/17/20

Comments:
I purchased 3 jack hammer stealth blades the 2 i have used the wire that holds the skirt on came loose to the point skirt about fell off i had to use new wire to fix the issue i feel that a 16$ chatterbait should have better quality control but after i fixed the skirts they work awesome have caught alot of bass!

From: Unknown 10/17/20

Comments:
The Stealth blade in my opinion is more of a finesse approach to the normal Jack Hammer. The plastic blade is harder to clear grass from than the metal blade but am happy with results when I get bites. It works very well in crystal clear water.

From: Travis: North Webster, Indiana 10/16/20

Comments:
As always, another great product from Tackle Warehouse. This chatter bait does not vibrate like the original, however it is a fish catching machine. I would highly recommend this chatter bait to all bass fishermen.

From: Richard: Grant Town, West VA 10/16/20

Comments:
The Bait was exactly what I expected and it flat out catchs fish. I have ordered all of the colors and have been very impressed with them

From: Rusty Port Arthur 10/15/20

Comments: Just used one for the first time during the Bassmaster open. It was at Lake hartwell and the spotted bass and largemouth responded to it very well. There was so much pressure in the lake that Im sure the subtle blade got bites from fish that wouldnt have bit anything else.

From: Blake - Lakeland, FL 10/11/20

Comments: Got the stealth 3/8oz, looks good but does not vibrate like a metal blade. Used on cranking rod with 14 lb for crank. Tried slow and fast retrieve.Vibrates occasionally.

From: Tony: So Cal 10/10/20

Comments:I think this bait is as good as the original jack hammer. It has a subtle vibration as opposed to the hard thump of the original jackhammer. It definitely catches fish with a good trailer on the back.I would recommend this one.

From: Wes - Evansville, IN 10/4/20

Comments: Great addition to the chatter bait line. Tighter wobble and great for clearer water. Fishes well with a slower retrieve and hunts good with a faster retrieve.

From: Kyle - 10/04/20

Comments: Was surprisingly disappointed ..I love jack hammer chatter baits but this was so hard to keep working..only about 2 out of 10 casts did it vibrate all the way back to boat.I would have to rip it several times to make it work properly..

From: Unknown 10/8/20

Comments: After using the regular Z-Man Jack Hammer i was a bit disappointed in the Stealth. It did catch a few bass but not the numbers and quantity of the original Jack Hammer.

From: Bill: Jackson N.J. 10/8/20

Comments: So far I've been impressed with the Stealth Jack Hammers! Tight vibration and smaller profile seems to trigger a pretty good bite, although I have noticed that the quality of the fish caught seems to be a little to be desired...

From: Kevin Prince: Powell 10/6/20

Comments:I tried the stealth blade out and it was not vibrating at all. I was using 15lb test flourocarbon with a 6.4 gear ratios with a skinny dipper trailer. I tested it again with 12lb flourocarbon and a thin body swimbait and a 7.1 gear ratios and I got the vibration out of the lure. I hope this helps

From: Ron: 10/2/20

Comments: I use this bait in all the bodies of water that I fish in Southern California. This bait definitely produces big rod bending strikes when the fish are in pressured situations. Immediately upon its retrieve, it instantly starts vibrating. I throw in sparse Tulles & around wooded stick up areas. Very effective fish catcher.

From: Frank T: Murrieta, CA 10/2/20

Comments:Quality Bait that I now are use when a standard chatter bait is too much but a swim jig is too subtle. Definitely worth the money.

From: John: California 9/30/20

Comments:Jackhammer "stealth" blade is an amazing lure. Ive noticed more bites in tougher more pressured lakes. The lighter wire hook allows me to use lighter line! Great job Z Man. I guess Brett Hite knows his stuff.

From: George: Macon, GA 9/29/20

Comments: I like the bait definitely a finesse chatterbait with a smaller hook not as much vibration as a regular Jack Hammer. I have caught several bass so far with both green pumpkin and the black and blue. The blade doesn't shed the grass as good as the metal blade seems to hang on more often then falling off clear water is the best use of the bait. The blade doesn't start as good as the regular metal blade either. All around i would give it a 7 out of 10 compared to the Jack Hammer...

From: Perry: Ohio 9/28/20

Comments:The blade on the Stealth does not engage on the retrieve immediately, like the original Jackhammer does. So basically the single greatest quality of the original Jackhammer is not present in the Stealth version. Also, the cation sometimes is not consistent.Other than that it has been good to me. I actually won a tournament with it.

From: HookSet Squad: Lilburn, GA 9/26/20

Comments: I really think that if your water visibility isn't over two ft you won't get any benefit from the stealth. It's a great lure but the original jackhammer is the way to go in dingy water.

From: Omer Bunn: Broadway, NC 9/25/20

Comments:I'm sure it has a time and place but I think they should have made the blade bigger I'm a little disappointed but I will figure it out.

From: Randy: New York 9/25/20

Comments: Picked up a couple of these baits the other day and was pleasantly surprised. Bait runs true and vibration starts immediately.Much more subtle thump with the smaller blade for those more pressured fish. Have only fished with it on a couple of occasions so far but both times the bass have just hammered it. Surprisingly also caught a couple of slab crappie on the white running it through some timber. Overall solid bait. Not sure why so many negative reviews, guessing people didnt look at it good enough. Of course the blade is smaller, hint stealth.

From: Chris: Kansas City, MO 9/25/20

Comments:As usual people do not get the point of this bait, complaining because it doesn't thump loud enough or vibrate hard enough is silly, it's a finesse version of a Jackhammer. if you want thump and vibration fish the original jackhammer. this is a bait for when the original is intimidating the fish and you want something quieter, with less vibration, a smaller more compact presentation, and it shines in that role. I fish lots of little creeks and rivers and the bass there are generally scared of the original JH, it's just too much noise, vibration, and too large of a profile- they're used to tiny baitfish. The Stealth Jackhammer is perfect for this situation, and really does well on the right days there. Much tighter action, far less thump and vibration, and a more compact profile, spotted bass eat it up.

From: John: Beaverton 9/25/20

Comments:I used them at Gauntersville an was highly impressed caught 8 bass in a hundred yards easy to cast pick up vibrating instantly

From: Michael: Brandon 9/24/20

Comments: Save your money & get the original. It is a finesse version which I determined means less vibration &/or flash which makes sense. However, to do so your retrieve speed has to be pretty slow which for me was a deal breaker. If you retrieved the bait back at a more normal or high speed the blade locks in place and you're left reeling in a limp bait.

Comments:Let me start by saying Tackle Warehouse is amazing! I've tried others but once I ordered from tackle I never went anywhere else. Amazing customer service and legit original products. This jackhammer by Z-Man is something I never go without in my tackle. I have both. Both stealth and blade. I highly recommend.

From: Hector: Rochester, NY 9/23/20

Comments: Great product and landed me some great fish this weekend. You must throw this chatterbait on medium extra fast tip rod as the entire setup is more finesse. I yo yo it back and during the beginning of fall when bait is smaller, I think this is where it shines. People complaint about hook is because they are used to medium heavy rod equipment for original jackhammer and reason I think they don't like or over power the presentation. It has its place for those who are versatile and can recognize when to downsize.

From: Rolando: San Antonio 9/21/20

Comments: After watching some videos on the Stealth Blade I was convinced it would be a bait I'd want to pick up. I love finesse applications and when you take the Stealth Blade with an appropriate trailer you get the finesse version of a JackHammer/Chatterbait. Now first and for most if anyone expects the the only difference between this one and the normal JackHammer to be the opaqueness of the blade then they're not paying attention. With that out of the way this bait still has plenty of vibration. As much thump as some of the smaller bladed chatter baits that are out there and comparable to a 3/8oz. Picasso Suijin Scrounger for comparison. Now another area where this differs from the JackHammer is in the hunting action. It's much tighter and doesn't deviate from it's path like a JackHammer does. I paired mine with an OSP DoLive Stick v2 and the little tail goes crazy on the back the same as an appropriate trailer on the JackHammer does. I personally use mine on a glass composite 6'10" jerkbait rod on 12lb. fc. Feels perfectly at home with this setup and I'm able to get long cast.

From: John: Evans, GA 9/14/20

Comments:Very disappointed. Love Jackhammers and will continue to buy but this bait is junk. It just doesn't have the vibration at all and just is a dead bait. Very surprise this company would put out such a product.

From: Unknown: Point Venture, TX 9/9/20

Comments:Stick with the original jackhammer's. When Evergreen inserted "stealth' into the name, I thought they were referring to the clear blade. When it arrived, I immediately noticed the blade is about 1/3 smaller than the original and was disappointed. This bait runs with minimal vibration. Like most of the other reviews, this is a finesse version, which makes about as much sense as designing a topwater bait that sinks. If I'm throwing a jackhammer, I want it to thump hard. Won't be buying anymore of these.

From: Donald: Walnut 9/9/20

Comments:First off, I am a big fan of the regular jackhammer. I've caught hundreds of fish on all the different colors and it's one of my go to baits when the conditions are right. When I saw the stealth blade, I immediately bought a few. First cast I caught a fish! Nothing huge, but a bass none the less. Second cast, the eye fell off... Didn't hit any rocks, docks or any other hard surfaces. I wasn't even ripping it out of grass. The hook is also noticeably lighter. I don't know if this was intentional to make it "stealthier", but it makes a big difference when trying to keep fish on. The concept here is great and I really hope Evergreen gets it together or another company comes out with something similar. However, the lack of quality here is very apparent I will not be buying more as they are currently.

From: Hunter: Texas 9/5/20

Comments:Great bait, it's a great bait when you use it as a Stealth Blade rather than a JackHammer. Much more subtle action, but I think it has its place in the line up. The blade will get the attention of the lateral lines without the sound that can turn off pressured fish. Great bait when you use it as the finese chatterbait that it is, and it has the JackHammer/Evergreen quality.

From: Andrew: Wisconsin 9/4/20

Comments:The hook is poor. Very little barb, in my opinion. Difficult to keep the fish hooked. Will try a few more, and see if I may have had a unit that was not screened.

From: Larry: 9/3/20

Comments: Decent bladed jig. Don't hit rocks with your lures, start out with soft plastics to improve your aim before throwing $15 + dollar baits. And no it's not the jack hammer, very different chatter baits, this one is more finesse with a quieter vibe. Still catches bass so long as your not tearing up your expensive baits slamming them into rocks

From: Dean: Las Vegas 9/3/20

Comments: These things are garbage, the hook is to small and flexs. Also the plastic blade cracked when it jig a rock.

From: Phil: Burbank,il 8/31/20

Comments: These seem tiny compared to the regular jackhammer. (Which is my go to) the 3/8 ,seems much lighter than the regular jackhammer. Guessing its due to the plastic blade, lighter hook, less skirt material and overall more finesse. the hook is a much lighter wire, however sticky sharp. This is definitely meant to be thrown using lighter gear.I still think I prefer the regular jackhammer. As of now anyway.

From: Pj: Bristol 8/31/20

Comments: One very big issue..... The Hook is terrible! Keeping fish pinned is a real challenge. I'll be sticking with the original JackHammer...better components equals better results.

From: Mike: Illinois 8/30/20

Comments:The blade on the Stealth does not engage on the retrieve immediately, like the original Jackhammer does. So basically the single greatest quality of the original Jackhammer is not present in the Stealth version. Does not seem to have any secondary hunting action when bumping cover due to the blade losing action immediately and needing some force to get vibrating again. You are not going to slow roll this bait and keep the blade engaged like you can with the original Jackhammer. This is a deal breaker for me. In summary, if you think the Jackhammer is the next best thing since "sliced bread", the Stealth may be more like having to slice your bread yourself.I personally don't think it is worthy of the Jackhammer name, but that may be just because I hold the original Jackhammer in such high regard. Also for what it is worth, the hook is a little lighter wire and the skirt is a little thinner than the original.

From: Alan - Lancey, WA 8/30/20

Comments:Just got my order in. Got 8 of these things. The bass bite this bait like crazy! But the hooks are not great. 10 bites in about an hour I only got one fish in the boat. I swapped to the original jackhammer didn't get as many bites but got every fish in the boat. Gonna try them on a stiffer rod. Maybe that will help the hook drive in the bass mouth better. Great bait, but very disappointed in the hooks. Comparable to the original chatterbait hook. Which was not great at all..
