Overview

Giving anglers the ability to shoot through vegetation without snagging, the Z-Man Finesse Bulletz Weedless Jigheads are perfect for keeping a finesse presentation totally weedless. Molded with a snag-free bullet shaped head, the Z-Man Finesse Bulletz Weedless Jigheads are built around a custom #1 VMC ewg-style jig hook that fits a wide variety of soft plastics and allows anglers to tex-pose the hook point for effectively sliding in and out of cover.

The Z-Man Finesse Bulletz Weedless Jigheads are also fitted with a molded keeper on the shank of the hook that prevents baits from sliding down to extend the life of your soft plastics. Offered in a range of sizes and colors, the Z-Man Finesse Bulletz Weedless Jigheads are a perfect match for any of your favorite finesse baits.

Comments: After not fishing for 18 years due to physical issues. Last year I tried doing it again. And I can do some. I fished 3-5 times a week last year. And probably about the same this year. Since I had been out of it for so long. And before I did mostly fly fishing. Though I did do some other fishing as well. I had a number of "new" baits to learn. One was the Ned rig. And I fell in love with it. Enough I bought a rod and reel just for it, among a few other things. To some that is no big deal. But when your income is very limited being on disability, that is a commitment and sacrifice. After fishing the normal TRD's I saw these craws. I had liked fishing the Yum Christie Craws. So I bought a pack of the green pumpkin orange. I got them towards later in the year. But every time I fished them, I caught fish. Nothing big. But I got my biggest bass last year on this craw. In a small creek that I didn't think there was anything bigger than a pound. I caught a 2 po und lmb. Sadly that was my largest last year. I have hardly fished it this year. And I am regretting it. When I fished Ned's I just used the TRD and the Big TRD. I think there were times I would have done better with this craw. I didn't fish craws much this year. Any of them. But I fished more soft plastics then I ever have. Go figure. Sadly it is getting to cold for me to fish. As the temps go down my pain levels go up. But I will fish them next year a lot more for sure. With the cost of baits anymore I am planning on fishing a lot more soft plastics next year to save money. But I won't stop using my topwaters. I can't stop using them. To much fun. And I caught my PB this year on one. God bless and tight lines everyone.

Comments: Seems I fish similar to Reviewer Luke of Tennessee.  In streams, I primarily use the 1/10 oz. with a TRD CrawZ or TRD that has been exercised, stretched out and roughed up a bit.  With Stream flow of 87cfm, the jig just barely skips on the bottom with a light rod lift.  Often, the smallmouth strike after a quick 1 lift or two with a slow crawl in between.

Best day for me so far, and likely forever, was July 25, 2021, with 166 smallmouth bass!  I started with a couple of TRDs Texposed and then tried, for the first time, the TRD CrawZ.  The hook stays tucked in to a grove in the bait but not hooked into the body of the bait.  Result: Faster hooksets.  The claws were lost after a few fish but the remaining chunk continued to produce.  Only reason I used so many TRD CrawZ (5) was I got bored not using one with Craws.  Key to hooking fish is a sharp hook.  I sharpen the hook ( and retire leader) regularly.  I replace the jig as it gets filed down.

I use a JDM Shimano BFS Aldebaran reel, 100 of 12# Berkley Nano-fil (white or Ghost as I watch the line), 15-20 of Sunlin Super FC Sniper Flouralcarbon 8# and an older Bass Pro 7 2-piece Medium Heavy baitcasting rod.  I can then swing a bass up to 2# quickly and get back to covering water.
Shimano just came out with a BFS Curado that is less expensive and just as good.
Be well.

Comments: I can't say enough about these jig heads. I finesse fish almost exclusively in small creeks and rivers in Middle Tennessee for smallmouth, so around lots of rock piles and boulders. These skip over and around rocks brilliantly. I have paired these with the TRD Crawz, Finesse TRD's, and 4" slider worms and couldn't stop getting slammed. The hook set on my ultralight slider rod and 8lb fluoro line hooked all but 2 fish out of 35 I was able to bring in on my most recent morning outing. For my style of shallow creek fishing I recommend the 1/15oz and 1/10oz all day. You will snag your lure significantly less than with a mushroom shaped head.

Comments: I use them with finesse swim baits. Kietech 2.8 inch or Rage Tail 2.75 inch are my favorites. On the 1/15 or 1/10 oz they will come through the grass at Guntersville with ease and they get bit from 8 incher to 6 pounders.

Comments: I really like these jig-heads. They are extremely weedless and the #1 hook size is perfect. A Big TRD will stand up on this jig-head but not a regular TRD. It would be wonderful if Z-Man made a version without the belly weight so you could downsize to a regular TRD!!

From: Mark: Macomb, MI 12/16/19

Comments: This is way more weedless than the weedless ned head. not to mention the hook is stouter than the traditional ned. i got the 1/10oz green and paired with the strike king baby rage menace and its a great finesse profile that I get plenty of bites on even the heavily pressured city lakes in our Urban Fishing Program.

Comments: I love this hook, but it lacks a little versatility.  Pleaaaease z-man, make this hook without the belly weight, and  I'll never buy another finesse hook.

From: papa biggie 6/2/19

Comments: Been using this with the new TRD Crawz, it's quickly become my new favorite.  These things come through rocks and sticks easily, and near perfect hookups every time.  Always in the corner of the fish's mouth or through the upper lip.

From: Andrew: Winchester, VA 11/26/18

Comments: Deadly when combined with a Z-Man Finesse ShadZ finesse bait. The slit in the "belly" of the Finesse ShadZ creates a large gap, allowing for excellent hook-ups.  I still recommend a MH rod for driving the hook home on on bigger bass, especially if you are pulling fish out of structure.

From: Aaron: Memphis 11/19/18

Comments: I've been using these heads with the Trick Shotz and having great success. Hook up ratio is close to 80 %, but they will wedge in tight in the chunk rock or rip rap. Comes through brush piles and timber easily, never a hang up. The holder works great at keeping the plastic in place, all in all, it's a great head.

From: Bob: MO 11/3/18

Comments: Ideal to use with the new : Z-Man Finesse TRD Crawz OR the Z-Man Finesse TRD when you need a snag proof Ned rig  ... To begin   I would try with the 1/10th oz. weight to start and for deeper water or windy conditions move up to the 1/6th oz. weight (I go slightly heavier with the Bulletz jighead than I do with the Finesse Shroomz jighead)  . Quality construction and a sticky sharp hook that will easily drive the hook home with a standard "reel set" hook set (no need to jack 'em or using  a hard hook set ) .
