Overview
Delivering tournament-caliber performance, the Z-Man Pro Shroomz Ned Rig Jighead gives anglers added strength to land big fish and cash big checks. Built around a custom medium wire 2/0 jig hook, the Z-Man Pro Shroomz Ned Rig Jighead offers the perfect balance of strength and easy hook penetration so that anglers can use heavier tackle and not worry about bending out the hook or losing big fish. It also features Z-Man’s signature mushroom head design, which is the preferred shape of Ned-rig enthusiasts for traversing over all types of terrain without getting snagged and keeping your bait pointed in an upward position to tempt finicky fish into biting. Finished with a welded wire bait keeper that provides a firm grip on soft plastics, the Z-Man Pro Shroomz Ned Rig Jighead will give you the power to handle large fish while using heavier tackle on the Ned rig.

Comments: Caught a 10lb drum while targeting smallmouth in Northern Wi. Great for small jaws obviously, but was pleasantly surprised the hook held its own when you get that inevitable bycatch.

Comments: Used these in the boundary waters camping, and caught a few nice smallmouth on it. However, the paint chipped really bad on the rocks and I ended up having a lead-colored jighead instead of black. Also, the soft plastic keeper on one of them broke off.

Comments: Chasing Lake Erie smallmouth during the prespawn and spawning periods, I was well aware of the traditional Ned Rig setup. But, I needed something a little beefier for staying near bottom in Erie waters of 20-40 feet. The 1/3 oz weight helps tremendously in this regard, and the stouter hook helps too. In two trips so far, these have handled smallies to 5 lbs, drum to 8 lbs, walleye to 25 in. and even a 12 lb channel catfish. I like not having to worry as much about bending hooks out when trying to get a fish up from the bottom. Crawz, Finesse TRD, and Slim Swimz have all worked when paired. Make sure you have a good snap-up to move the bait - the heavier weight means a strict vertical fall is even more important for getting it to stand straight up off bottom.
