Mitchell reels can trace their lineage back to Louis Carpano, an Italian clockmaker who established himself in France and Switzerland in the mid-1800s. In the 1940s, production on fishing reels began, and since then, Mitchell has produced over 300 million fishing reels. Countless kids have caught their first fish on the iconic Mitchell 300 spinning reel.
