Comments: The 7'6' Feider rod is nothing short of a revolution. It's a true marriage of form and function. You start to realize what a disadvantage you are at when trying to fish these baits (hair, ned, spy, etc.) with the wrong rod. The tip allows you to launch the bait a country mile, and that extra 6" gives you leverage to effortlessly hook and control a smallmouth that is far from the boat. It actually makes the entire fishing experience euphoric when you have that kind of castability and control. Fish the great lakes? Northern NY? Don't go to a gun fight with a knife. Getcha one of these. #GAMECHANGER (901 NRX+ also killer but $$$)

Comments: I have had this rod for about a year now and I have mixed feelings. I have the 7'1" medium. the best part about this rod is the sensitivity. If you are fishing a dropshot with this rod you seriously don't need a tungsten weight. I can feel the difference between rock, gravel, sand, you name it. But the thing I don't like about it is the overall action of the rod. It is the same blank as the tatula elite rod just with the better guides for sensitivity. I seem to lose so many big fish on it, because the blank is just not the right action for a drop shot even though it is advertised as one. for the price I think you can find a rod with almost the same sensitivity with a much better action and blank. I would give it a 7/10 just because the blank isn't worth the price.

Comments: While I've bought many good rods from Daiwa, Shimano, St Croix etc - the Daiwa Tatula Elite AGS 7' 6'' spin rod is a work of fine art both in form & function... Coupled with the very reasonable price of $290 US it is an absolute bargain for a light yet sensitive spin rod. I have mated it with a Shimano TP XD 5000 which will run 12lb Mono - yet, the reel only weighs 230 gms. Incidentally, the rod weighs the same as my St Croix LE 6' 8'' baitcaster - 122 gms. I agree that the colour scheme of the rod is a bit polarising with Silver on Silver bindings - and it is my only gripe; perhaps, Daiwa might use their imagination a bit and use contrasting Black & Silver thread..? I suppose, that Beauty is definitely in the hands of the user!

Comments: I think the other rods in the Elite AGS line are okay to average, but the 7'6" Seth Feider rod is special.  It is a GREAT hair jig, spybait, ned rig and small finesse swimbait rod.  Even though it is a long rod, it is light, and it balances well with today's lighter reels.  I can cast the Feider fly a mile with this rod, and same is true with the ned, spybait and finesse swimbait.  If you fish in clear waters, this rod is a must.

From: Nick: Maine 6/2/21

Comments: I had been looking at a finesse swimbait/hair jig/neko rig rod and i came across the 7'6 Feider rod from youtube videos. I did more and more research on it but I didn't find a lot on this rod. I paired this rod up with a 3000 series diawa tatula LT with 10 lb seagar smack down high vis braid. The extra length on this rod paired up with a smaller braid will sling a bait further than any rod I've ever felt. Overall my favorite rod and I would recommend this to any one wanting a finesse rod. If you're wondering if you should spend your money on this rod do it, its a little pricey but it is definitely worth it. I will definitely be adding another in a year or two
Pros:
- light weight
- very good flex. Not too stiff or too limber
- very sensitive
- light baits can be thrown a lot further than normal
-AGS guides have amazing sensitivity
Cons:
- balance on rod is just a little further forward than I like (can probably be fixed with heavier reel)
- is a little pricey but definitely worth it

Comments: Completely worth every dollar.  Amazing rods, and very well tailored to their specific techniques.  I've used the Brent Ehler Drop Shot Rod, and own a Cody Meyer Versatile, which both work great for drop shotting.  The Cody Meyer rod is also great for ned rig, spybait, weightless senko, etc.

From: Unknown 9/22/20

Comments: I purchased the 7'4 and the 7'1, both are awesome rods. Both are very sensitive and provide plenty of power for their individual design. The 7'1 has become my favorite rod to drop shot with, but it is also great at skipping a senko.

From: Jacob - Wayzata, MN 12/25/18

Comments: I have purchased two of the 7' 6" rods for fishing hair jigs and neko worms.  However this summer we fished with a guide that got us using the Ned rig.  This rod has worked extremely well for this technique.  I have many rods that cost more than these two daiwa rods but must say they are very nice.  Many years ago I purchased my dad a very nice rod and reel.  That was that only rod he would use....  now he won't put down the daiwa.  I will be purchasing at least one more in the 7' 1" size.

From: Unknown - 9/17/18

Comments: I picked up the 7'1" dropshot rod to give the AGS guides a try. Paired with a Stradic Ci4 2500.Pros: Excellent soft tip action that helps detect bites and makes this rod very versatile. Extra length for casting when you don't want to just drop straight down. Grips are rougher than most foam grips giving a better grip. Comes in a Daiwa rod sock, and the dedicated drop shot keeper near the rod butt is sweet.

Cons: A little heavier than I was expecting, my Kistlers are noticeably lighter; feels tip heavy in hand, a heavier reel might fix that. Sensitivity hasn't blow me out of the water, imo there's much more sensitive rods in this price range. One thing to note is that the rod comes with a paper that says not to cast a leader connection knot through these guides. I run a 30' floro leader and so far haven't seen any issue casting through them.

From: Dakota: Tucson, AZ 12/8/17

Comments: Took drop shotting for first time and very impressed.  Exceptional feel and good cast-ability with 3/8 oz weight and 4 1/2" Roboworm.  One of the best rods for the money I've ever fished and I've owned or borrowed every premium rod available in the U.S.

From: WM Campbell - San Diego, CA 10/21/17

Comments: I can't say enough good things about this rod. It is fantastic. Keep in mind it comes with its own daiwa labeled rod glove style rod sock.
