Overview
Designed to solve the challenges of casting big jointed swimbaits, the Shimano Armajoint 190SF Swimbait leverages Shimano's proprietary ARMA BOOST technology to vastly improve casting distance and accuracy. As the angler casts the lure, an internal magnet forces the body to fold into a compact shape to reduce the chances of the lure spinning during flight and lessen air resistance. Once the Armajoint hits the water, the lure body reengages with the internal magnet to create smooth and natural swimming action with slow-floating action.
The Armajoint Swimbait will normally swim in an S-pattern, but the bait will not flare out when stopped due to the unique fold in its body. Shimano’s proprietary FLASH BOOST technology constantly emits a fish-attracting flash during the retrieve and on the pause by suspending a reflective foil on micro springs to mimic the flashing behavior of an injured baitfish. Purpose-built to improve angler performance and draw strikes from tournament-winning bass, the Shimano Armajoint 190SF Swimbait is a versatile lure that allows anglers to vary the retrieve depending on the situation or mood of the fish.
Shimano | Length | Weight | Depth | Class |
Armajoint 190SF | 7-1/2" | 1-7/8oz | 0-1ft | Slow-Floating |

Comments: Don't buy this bait for the simple reason that if you lose a tail that it's made of elaztek material you can't get a replacement so you are paying $40 for a bait that lasts through 2 tails. I contacted Shimano and they are not supporting a bait that they made. Good job Shimano way to support your customers.

Comments: Absolutely phenomenal bait!!! You can burn it just below the surface, wake it slowly on the surface, pop it like a topwater bait or use it like a glide bait as well. Truly versatile and definitely effective for catching weary, oversized bass! This lure perfectly mimics a fleeing blue back herring or an injured baitfish depending on your retrieve. I can guarantee you will not regret buying this bait!!! It is everything you've come to expect from Shimano and ALOT more!!!

Comments: I have to say I am impressed with this bait. This thing swims awesome at high speeds and does stop and go very well. I am picturing me throwing this thing next spring for the striper run here in CA and I can tell you this bait is going to get bit. It casts like a dream, the finishes are great, the swim is excellent at all speeds, I've tuned mine with some lead stickers to produce a bit faster sink and it's just amazing in the water. I rarely take the time to submit a review but this one was worth it for me. Take a minute to for sure replace the stock split rings and I personally would swap the hooks as well. I'm throwing this thing for big CA run stripers. It is the perfect hybrid bait between a true glide bait like a S Waver 168 and a big jerk bait like a Megabass Kanata. It has a wide but natural swim like a glide, and it has some flash along with some noise like a jerk bait.

Comments: Outstanding swimbait .. cmon it's Shimano !! They are really going to move the chains on swimbait tech starting with this one .. now watch all the copy cats come out .. so far I've caught a few stripers in Lake mead w/ this bait in trout .. great casting distance- perfect weight .. impossible to work it wrong .. watch out for birds .. even they take a swipe at it. Nicely done Shimano. I look forward to future versions

Comments: As far as the hooks tangling on the cast, you have to take care that the eye of each hook is snapped into its slot. They are designed to NOT swing freely until a fish is hooked and they pull out of the little holder deal. That being said, on a lure in this price range, I expect quality components. INCLUDING the spit rings, which are definitely rinky-dink on this bait. After one day of use, the split rings needed replacing, as they were malformed and stretched out. Replaced them with some quality, heavy-duty split rings, and problem solved.

Comments: Buy it, that day when no one on your lake can catch anything? You will, unless your push button Paul or the married couple Spinning Sam & Nightcrawler Nancy NoPhish! I can't say enough about this swimbait! I personally watched a 3lb fish completely disregard the bait, made eye contact, thought about it, and said no thanks.. flash boost caught a glimmer with the sun after I came from the cover he was holding on to, fish wasn't quite 180 degrees into the "no thanks bud" but dang close, he saw that glimmer, gave it zero second thought and absolutely annihilated it. Granted I worked all day for 2 fish on it but that's Illinois bass fishing! 1st thought, retrieve doesn't matter but granted you have 3 options, fast (handles it better than 95% of Swimbaits on the market today regardless of $), slow obviously, but the stop and go, 3 burns pause 3 normal pause, 3 burns etc.. ohhh my lord, Shimano what did you do! FLAWLESS! Bait glides off just like a glide would before suspending perfectly letting that flash boost work its charm! Stays JUST below the surface on the retrieve so where you could probably see a wake if I wasn't fishing in 10-12mph winds yesterday. The front hook is substantially larger than the rear! But contrary to the fella above me, press the hooks upward into the keeper system and they no longer tangle and extend out when a fish is on without notice to hook up (at least I thought so). The casting tech I couldn't say enough about it either. I goofed and only had my Irod gen 3 baileys special (3-8oz rating) and tranx 300 in the boat before realizing my expride and tranx 200 was tucked under in my rod box mess. I absolutely launched this thing with an 8 ft rod and tranx 300 better than my Deps and baitsanity glides I used yesterday bar none.. folds like a flatbread and opens up that goodness like aunt Helen just got out the minivan and face down power walks to the kitchen smelling it. Unfortunately, I'm out of owner #2 ST3's but the guy below me is wrong also. The front hook is LARGER THAN the REAR, size 1's are too big so I'm assuming #2 st 3's would be perfect, rears are probably a 4 but DONT QUOTE ME, don't wanna be wrong like others. All in all, it will get banged up but not like my world minnow/divers do, they're annihilated after a day of jerking my rod... but this is the BEST SWIMBAIT at this price, I've ever used! I now have them all and have tested them all on 3 consecutive days. (Had them for about a week or two) and I'm hooked! Love seeing shimano rod tech trickle down to their crushing lure game recently, can't wait til the 1 hinge "glide bait" specific comes someday! This will catch on in spring and this fall, grab them before you stuck watching everyone else use it like the original sleeper exprides! P.S. no I'm not a shimano fanboy, I was just raised by a down home country boy who chased big fish, I have baby pictures next to wooden glides and footballs. Believe me, buy it!

Comments: Has awesome action but the hooks will tangle with each other 1 out of 4 casts.

Comments: Doing a little search I found the hook sizes for us. The front hook is a number 1 the back hook is a number 2. I'm really excited about this very unique bait.
