Debate overI’ve gone back and forth on my hook selection, straight-shank vs. EWG. Both have their strengths but bait placement relative to boat position highlights their weaknesses. This hook brings the benefits of both where now I can get a clean hookset regardless of whether I pitched the bait a few feet or made a longer cast.
I do hope 6th Sense offers this line in a darker finish, it would be the perfect hook in my opinion.
Good quality hookI got this hook for flipping and pitching mats. And I will say, I started of fishing this with braid and I did bend the hook out a little on my 3rd fish it was a 4lber. But then I switched to 25 pound fluorocarbon and did not have a problem. But I do think 6th sense needs to beef the hook up a little bit because you should not have a flipping hook and be able to bend it out on braid.
Not for braided line / GrassFirst hook, First bite on Lake Okeechobee was a 1.5 Lber. Using 65 braid, 7-7 Heavy rod. Opened the hook 10 and bent the point out. Might be better for Flourocarbon, Hook looks well put together but the wire is not a true HD hook.
