Comments: This reel is great! I fished bass, striper and caught some monster Santee cats and have'nt had a lick of problems out of this reel. Throwed soft plastics, crank baits, jigs, top water,etc...you name it , I have thrown it. I have two of these reels and they are very dependable. The low profile just fits in your hand perfectly and with the 24lbs of drag you can pull in any monster. Just remember everybody has there own personel OPINIONS, but let me tell you brother, ABU is for YOU!

From: Bert: North Augusta, SC

Comments: I have used this real for over a year now in wisconsin, fishing from 45 degrees to 100+ and haver never had an issue yet. I own two and love them both, super smooth, great drag!! (for the occasional monster pike in wisconsin!) plus silver looks good on almost everything. only complaint is that they dont make it in diffrent ratios! i would like a 7:1:1 and a slow crank verison!

From: Kyle: WI

Comments: Not happpy the line guide compleatly wore out on mine after a year of not hard fishing mostly weightless sfot plastics casts far smooth but no Shimano also have a stx wish i would have stuck with the ol faithful Shimanos i have older bantim citica and curados still can fire crankbaits and crank em all day long with no problems ever buy a SHIMANO if you want to really be happy

Comments: i would defintely recomend this reel over the citica becauses this reel has a 24lb drag system and the citica only has a 11lb drag system

From: Justin: Winter Haven, FL

Comments: Bought four on sale at the end of November and when I got them all four had quality issues with the removable side plate. Had small rough edges poking out. You could feel this on all four when palming it.

From: John: Stafford, VA

Comments:  I really liked this reel. I brought it to my brothers so I could fish it down in SC and forgot it. Now my brother really likes this reel. He just fished a speckled trout tourny with it last week and said he might send it back to me next spring. I told him to keep it and I ordered a Revo SX to replace it.  The S is such a smooth reel I hope I like the SX as much.

From: Henry: Baltimore, MD

Comments: really sick... highly recomended

From: Ty: On The Water, MN

Comments: I own 3, and they perform just as good if not better than my sx, and stx for different techniques.

From: James: Valparaiso, Indiana

Comments: wow this reel is the best and its coming from a shimano guy. didnt even have to mess with the brakes, just the spool tension a little bit. casts a mile use this reel for pitching and flipping(two technics i love) also will be throwing some frogs on it. the spool on the reel looks very small but its at the same time its really deep. overall grreeaat reel

From: Alec: Highland, IL

Comments: awsome reel. I have 3 of these. they cast a mile and i hardly ever backlash this thing. I use one for frog fishing with 65lb braid and this sucker will pull 5 and 6lbers out of the slop in guntersville. Love this reel. Revo is as good as it gets

From: Phil: Guntersville, AL

Comments: to alec.... its called a centrifugal breaking system. this reel is great i throw light crankbaits with it and have had for a while now and its a work horse. if u cant cast this reel without backlashing it then u dont know how to throw a baitcaster. i find it funny that u leave a review saying it doesnt have a breaking system when it has one

Comments: Bought this reel last month and put it on my spinnerbait rod performed great cast far and smooth
I really like drag powerI plan buying 3 more one for my jig rod, crankbaitrod, and lipless crankbait rod

From: Gary: Los Angeles, CA

Comments: I beat the crap out of my reels and this one has held up fairly well.  i use it in freshwater and light saltwater. It has a bad problem with backlashing, even with the brakes properly set.   I honestly dont think this reel is the best for the buck.  My Daiwa tierra outperforms this thing 5 to 1 and its the same price. If you could spend an extra 30 bucks, get a revo SX or a curado 200e7.  they are clearly worth the money.

From: Trevor: FL

Comments: Don't waste your money, for $129 it should at least come with some sort of braking system, all it has is the spool tension knob, something I overlooked on my purchase...I thought that was a standard feature on casting reels!! NOT ON THIS ONE! Spend the extra money and get a Curado or similarly priced Team Daiwa.  It's fairly smooth and cast nicely but it's not very easy to dial in when you've changed lures, due to the lack of braking system.  I've had this model for about 2 years and it already is inoperable(I take pretty good care of my reels too).  I have a 7 year old curados and team daiwas that perform better than this reel does.  I recently started using this reel for jerkbaits and square bill crankbaits and that was the death of it.   Should have left it on my drop shot rod!!!

From: Alec: San Angelo, TX

Comments: Really good reel, castability and fishability is great! rarely backlashes. however durability is the downfall in my opinion. idk if i got a lemon or something. but the worm broke. when i reel it in the guide stays on one side. im gonna get a curado next. overall great reel though!

Comments: You can use these reels for anything, they rarely backlash, and they have an amazing drag system. i have one and ive switched it around on rods and it performs well with anything. they get compared to the BPS pro qualifier alot and i plan on getting one of those and two more of these. i usually dont buy the same reel twice, but im getting two more because i love them so much!

From: Matt: Carbondale, IL

Comments: I own 4 of them and my dad owns 5 or 6. This reel has never failed and is a good all around reel. I WILL buy more in the future.

From: Josh: Lumberton, TX

Comments: A true workhorse. I had a bunch when they were 99 bucks. I never had an issue with any of mine except a couple became loud, even after lubing and greasing. I sold all of mine to a dude I know, who uses the heck out of them with no issues. If you want to buy a bunch of the same reels, this one could do it all. I was bummed to see the price go up, I switched to the BPS Pro Qual and never looked back.

From: Meatwad: Out of reelski

Comments: Use this reel for all of my flipping needs. I love it and would not trade it for nothing. I have used expensive quantums my hole life and this reel performs much better. I am def switching over to ABU

From: Chad: Michigan

Comments: These are good reels for only certain types of fishing. These are great if you wanna cast a mile every single time, but if  you are a flipper and pitcher these are not for you. They are bad about backlash. Great for swim bait fishing though and cranking. Go for a Curado or shimano Chronarch for pitching and flipping.

From:  James: Maryville, TN

Comments: i now have two of these reels and one of them is pared with a 7'3" vendetta md hvy rod for jigs, and one is with a hammer spinner bait topwater rod, i have to say one of the best reels ive ever used.

From: Bryan: Tennessee, USA

Comments: Just got mine in today. Great reel and its so smooth. plan on getting 3 more, tradin in all my daiwa aggrests for these reels. They dont even compare to the Revo S.

From: Seth: South Carolina, USA

Comments: Just got this reel in the other day. Havent really broke it in yet but it casts like a dream.. It can throw light baits all day long.  This reel is super smooth.!!  Great reel by Abu garcia..

Comments:This is my first baitcaster. I had never used one before this and within a matter of 5-6 casts I had it pretty much down with no backlash. If it can teach a beginner that easy, it must be doing it's job.

From:Caleb: Indiana, USA

Comments:This is the best reel in it's price range. I have two. One is on a flipping rod w/ braid. Tighten the drag all the way down and I can pull fish out of pretty nasty stuff without the drag slipping. Great job ABU, keep the Revos coming!

From:Jack: Phoenix, AZ

Comments:MY WIFE AND I HAVE THE ABU GARICA REVO S CASTING REELS. WE FISH FOR PACFIC SALMON WITH OURS, AND IT HAS THE POWER TO CATCH THE BIG PACFIC SALMON OF THE NORTHWEST. 50 THUMBS UP"
