Overview

Built with 48 adjustable compartments, the Bass Mafia Bait Coffin 3700 is as rugged as they come and offers anglers three distinct advantages over traditional stowaways. You can’t see into them, sunrays can’t penetrate them, and they’re virtually indestructible. The two-tone black and red design keeps super-secret lures out of sight, and away from the wandering eye of competitors. The coloring also keeps lures out of the sun, and prevents the fading or discoloration of expensive lures. The durability of the Bass Mafia Bait Coffin 3700 has been extensively tested and is second-to-none. Built with a waterproof seal, and stainless steel hinges, the Bass Mafia Bait Coffin 3700 is capable of handling whatever fishing conditions you may encounter. Eliminate cracked stowaways, damaged lures, and leaked secrets with the Bass Mafia Bait Coffin 3700.

Comments: This is a killer little box. I have one for all my weights and another for all my hooks. The hooks aren't heavy so there's not a lot of abuse for that one, but the one with the weights is heavy. It's been dropped and slid across the boat in big waves. It has never popped open and has never been damaged. This is a top notch box.

Comments: Not a fan. All my swivels, split rings, small things all mix up. Than last weekend for the 5th time in 2 years, my latches decided to come undone and mix every piece of terminal tackle I own together in to one beautiful conglomeration.

From: Max: Unknown 12/22/21

Comments: I liked the box but the latches start cracking after a few years. They want to sell you replacement latches at 5 dollars and pay 10 dollars to ship it. Warranty only for a year after that pound sand. Wouldn't be so bad if the latches were sold on TW and I can add it on an order. I have many different boxes this is the only ones that require replacement parts after a few years.

From: Daniel: AL 8/25/21

Comments:I bought one of these for my terminal gear as I really like all the smaller divided sections. Wanted to like it but I can not keep the darn thing latched. The latches are constantly popping open. Its just a matter of time before all my terminal tackle spills out. Rugged plastic but I am moving on to Plano Edge, hoping the latch system works out better. My cheap planos latch better than this box.

From: Matt: RED BLUFF, CA 9/21/20

Comments: I just bought one of these and IDK WHAT people are complaining about!! I filled mine with teeny tiny swivels, hooks, split shot, bobber stops and all my other terminals, closes it up, turned it upside down and shook it like a maraca and NOTHING moved. Waterproof, floats and they LOOK AWESOME. i will definately be buying more of these

From: James: New Paris 7/6/20

Comments: I never cared for this box. Terminal tackle went left to right. Never stayed in it's designated spot. Latches we're garbage. Started to crack before it finally broke. When it did break. I was in a car accident. The box broke at the latches and hinges. Bought the box before it was dropped down to 29.99 and I won't buy another.

Comments: Beautiful boxes. Very heavy with loads of dividers that allow you to customize your layout. The Plano boxes may be cheaper but who cares. You only live twice, once when your born and once when you die, Live a little and splurge on these boxes. You will enjoy sitting at the kitchen table perfectly arranging your stuff enjoying a cold one.

From: ken: buford, ga 4/2/19

Comments: awesome boxes, got two and one dd and they are worth the price for sure!!!

From: RYAN: IA 1/11/19

Comments: Have had this bait coffin for a little over a year now. After using it for a couple months the rubber seal/gasket around the edge to keep it waterproof begun to tear off and has led to water being able to leak into the coffin, causing some of my terminal tackle to rust. It is quite hefty (and expensive) and I personally don't see an added benefit compared to a plano or flambeau waterproof series tackle box.

From: Kevin - New York 4/22/18

Comments: Love the box! Hated that it didn't open all the way up and stopped at a little over 90ÃR260°... so I fixed it! Carefully cut off the tabs that are making contact with the hinges. It doesn't damage the box and then your bait coffin will open all the way too!

From: Broc: Tehachapi, CA 3/6/18

Comments: Ive bought 2 of these for terminal tackle. 1 for hooks and 1 for wieghts, stops/pegs, swivels and anything elses. The only reason I bought them is because I could not find a Plano or Flambeau box with enough sections in it. Also the Bass Mafia terminal coffin looked as if it did not hold very much tackle. If I could have found another box I would have deffinantly bought it instead as these boxes are way to exspensive and realy not worth the price. That being said I do realy like the boxes they are very strong and have plenty of storage. If they were cheaper and came in smaller sizes I would buy alot more but will not buy anymore products from Bass Mafia until their prices fo down.

From: Austin: Cincinnati Ohio 2/27/18

Comments: Expensive!!!!!!! But I keep my megabass Jerkbait n high end crankbaits in these. Literally bulletproof and weatherproof! I don't own many but those that I do are well worth the money!

From: Kentucky - 12/13/17

Comments: Great box. It is heavy duty and waterproof. Keeps my jig, shakey head and crankbait hooks from rusting. Also, is great for weights. The dividers are very rigid and don't break loose with heavy tungsten.

From: Jimmy: Al 11/21/17

Comments: Well I hate to break up the party because there seems to be a lot of hype around these boxes, but I personally do not like them. Maybe its just me, but these boxes lack a some critical features especially storing things and things with sharp points on them such as terminal tackle and some lures as well. Anyway i will start with the few good things about these boxes. They are a robust built box. Made of the densest plastic you are going to find on a utility box which means they can take a beating. There boxes have a lot of removable dividers; more than any other I have used. Those are the good things about these boxes but now for the cons and the reason why I ultimately decided to purchase a bunch of Plano 3700 series boxes and give these to a kid I know in my neighborhood that enjoys fishing. These bass mafia boxes lack one critical feature for me, and probably the main reason I dont like these. The bottoms of the compartments are squared on the bottom edges instead of rounded over. This makes it really hard to retrieve small parts such as beads, swivels, split shot weights, and small hooks. With the squared edges also means hooks get easily jammed in the bottom. The boxes top only opens to about a 95 degree angle. Which sucks for me, because a lot of times when i pull a box out of the locker on my boat. I tend to leave it sitting in the middle of the deck. Just me being lazy I guess, but with the lid standing up at a 95 degree angle it creates a huge surface for me to trip on or kick over. The latches on these boxes are terrible. They get brittle and break over time, because the plastic they are made of is to hard. Which means they do not flex at all with all of the pressure you are putting on them when opening and closing them. So yeah these boxes may work for some people but they just dont work for me. Im not sure if Bass Mafia is a new company or not, but it seems they focused more on building a more stout box, and just paid no attention to the small details. These boxes are just not worth the money you pay for them. Now the Plano 3700 and Flambeau 5000 serious boxes are great. The latches are made of a softer plastic which means they are allowed to flex a little with the pressure you put on them, and the latches extend across about 6 inches of the lips of the box which means even though they the plastic soft enough for them to flex and not get brittle and break over time, they still put more pressure on the seal as the latch comes into contact with more of the lip of the box. The compartments are rounded over at the bottoms. The lid opens up completely and lays flat. The plastic the boxes are made of is not as dense as the Bass Mafia boxes, but they are still built very well. So unless your throwing your utility boxes around it wont be a problem. I say pickup 2 or the Plano or Flambeau boxes for the price of 1 of these. This is one of those times you will be happy you went with the cheaper option. The Flambeau boxes also incorporates the zrust dividers so no need to add rust prohibit to the box.

From: That Guy: Bay Area, Ca 11/1/17

Comments: These boxes are fantastic for terminal tackle because the dividers have no gaps on the top or bottom - that means when you flip this box over, your small pieces aren't all co-mingled afterward like they would be with most other divider-style boxes. The smaller spacing of the dividers is exceptional for terminal pieces as well, for things like split rings and snaps where you don't need such a huge section. In addition, heavy weights (such as punch weights) won't bow or damage the dividers of this box when being tossed around. On the negative side, I used several over the last year to carry lures and baits, and, while they are definitely rugged and secure, I found them a tad too cumbersome and heavy (and pricey) for regular use and went back to standard boxes. I have a smaller boat and the weight of these boxes does definitely add up in comparison. I'd recommend this box to store rare/valuable lures or terminal tackle, but nothing more.

From: Matt: San Diego, CA 6/18/17

Comments: Best Box for Terminal Tackle. Nothing rusts, tiny hooks don't spill over into the other compartments and I've put it to the test in rough water out here in Texas. My boxes are stacked vertically and nothing spills over to the other slots. This box is going to save you some money in the long run.

From: H B: Houston, Texas 11/9/16

Comments: This box is awesome! I bought this in hopes of finding a box that wouldn't warp when soft plastics are kept inside it. I found everything I wanted in this box. It is intensely Durable & has great construction.

From: Spencer: Lilburn, GA 7/11/16

Comments: I too had one of the latches break on the 3700. There is know issue with the latches but overall a great box. Built like a tank. Contacted the company & they immediately sent replacement latches with no problem. I agree, for the price the boxes should come with better latches but at least the company stands behind their product.

From: Phatbass: FL 6/20/16

Comments: Wonderful box! Only issue is after some time the lid closures break. I use this box as a terminal tackle box and of course I'm in the thing multiple times per trip. For the price we pay for this box, the lid closures should be better quality. Sent the company an email and they didn't even reply. Excellent box, just need to improve the closures.

4/18/16

Comments: I bough two of these they are great but on one of them one of the box buckles broke off right in the middle they are perfect except for that really good for terminal tackle

4/17/16

Comments: Built like a tank, definitely the best option for terminal tackle in my opinion. Keeps everything where it's supposed to be and can be fully customized to your specific needs. the ONLY issue that that I have with my two boxes is that about half of the dividers came warped which was really disappointing considering how much you pay for the box, other then that it is a great box & that shouldn't put you off from ordering it!

From: Ron: Milwaukee, WI 1/27/16

Comments: Great box!! Keep all 32 of my Megabass lures in here. Everything from 110s, jrs, shading x, bait x, anthrax, v3, giant dog x, smolt, all my deep x, griffon zero, and a few others. nothing gets in or out if you dont want it to. is expensive but highest quality you can find. only issue ive had is the water proofing strip comes out every now and again.

From: Kevin: OH 6/16/15

Comments: Best Terminal Tackle Box out there right now. No sliding around or anything. Everything stays where you put it. Box doesn't flex from weight in it either creating gaps like the thinner Planos do. If you're looking for the best terminal box, this is it.

From: Ryan: WA 3/10/15

Comments: Hands down the best terminal tackle box made. I used to use the falcon boxes, which are smaller and I always had to carry 2 to accomodate my terminal tackle and jig heads. And that box is not waterproof. Yes, the box is heavy but what terminal tackle box is not heavy? And to book, it is made obviously to take a beating. The locks are a little hard to close at times, but mine are brand new and just breaking in. HIGHLY recommend this box.

From: Bill: Windham, NH 7/14/14

Comments: Nice boxes, have the 3700 and the deep. Should be noted these weigh much more than a standard Plano/Flambeau type box. Might be a consideration for the folks who like to keep weight down when packing their boats. Also a big thank you to TW customer service. The 3700 I oredered came in with incorrect dividers in the back, caused the lid to be off a bit, and would not stay locked in. They swapped it out seamlessly.

From: Dtrs5kprs: Lansing, KS

Comments: Great Box---Need a 3600 size.

From: Eric: Council Bluffs, Iowa USa

Comments: Great box for a wide range of tackle like shakey heads and jigs.

From: Mark: St. Louis

Comments: As stated, great box. I wish they would make a smaller box like the 3701 size. The 2" deep box is great for hard baits, however creates to much wasted space for other storage options. Well worth the money for you sniveling tight wads.

From: stein3411: Bellingham, WA

Comments: As said in prior reviews, best box for terminal tackle. A little pricy, but you pay for what you get. In this case, a great box. As always great customer service from Tackle Warehouse. Will be purchasing a couple of deep coffins.

From: Brian: Lafayette, LA

Comments: Best box for terminal tackle. Biggest upside is the dividers are all the way secured so nothing slips under. Bass mafia knows what they are doing solid box.

From: Ricky: IL

Comments: Ya, they are expensive. But man are they built strong! No twisting, warping etc. Excellent for storing my terminal tackle, jig heads, everything. Gonna have to get the deeper one next.

From: Rusty: Quincy, IL

Comments: Nice box that seem to combine great design with durability and it works great for baits, just don't buy it for terminal tackle. All the compartment separators do not fit snug against the bottom which allows smaller items to move around freely. Going to fix mine up and glue it all together.

From: Stephen

From: Phillip: TX

From: Chris: Moosic, PA

From: Jeff: Talbott, TN

Comments: The best storage box on the market.Nothing else comes close to these. You will never have to purchase another tackle system period. Thanks,Bass Mafia and TackleWarehouse.

From: Dean: Winnsboro, SC

Comments: I have 6 of these and love them. I forgot my jig box on the back of my boat. I got on I40 and just happened to see it bounce into the median. It had at lease 30 jigs in it I got turned around found the box it was unopened and not broke. Definately the toughest box ever!!!!!!!!!!

From: Josh: Knoxville, TN
