Engineered with proprietary longitudinal construction rather than a traditional crossover pattern, the filaments in Forward Braid are thermally fused for a silky feel and thinner profile that better maintains its round shape while providing increased feedback to the angler.

Easy to manage cast after cast, Forward Braid produces less water resistance for a more efficient sink rate and also boasts enhanced abrasion resistance for confident casting around hard cover. Not good!I got some because I like trying new stuff and I read a couple positive reviews online, but this stuff is garbage. The online reviews clearly have to be paid reviews because EVERYTHING they said about the line was untrue. First off, this stuff breaks way before it’s rated strength or the expected strength based on diameter. It’s very flat! Not even slightly round. It’s stiff, doesn’t do well with line twist, and just feels cheap. I knew I shouldn’t bother trying it but I figured “what the heck, it can’t be all bad”, now I wish had just kept my money and time spent re-spooling.

Just not goodFor a slick braid it’s wildly stiff. Can’t really comment on strength because I never got that far, I swapped out powerpro 8 strain for this and it took one day to realize that it was yet again another gimmick from Berkley.

Dental flossI have not had good luck with this line. It reminds me of flat dental floss. Has bad memory and does not cast far at all.

Best Line for Big Boys that Know Their KnotsLow memory Tough outstanding abrasion resistant Long casting Alberto Knot for adding leader and double-Polonar or better for terminal knots

Nanofil leftoversBreaks extremely easily with every knot. I tested several different knot and leader variations and they all failed extremely easily. I've lost several fish that hit, set the hook and snap. Just like nanofil. Stick with fire line....

Would Recommend
Finesse braidWorks well for finesse applications. I use it on my Ned rig/tightlining rod. I wouldn’t use it for anything strenuous but the slickness on this braid makes it a great choice for light lures.

Dont waste your moneyReminds me very much of nanofill, but worse, I bought six pound and it has so much memory it just coils of the spool, heavier jig tension could not keep this line laying right which in return lead to numerous wind knots, I got it on sale and still wasted my money. Dont fix whats not broke and buy 832.

It's Gliss/nanofil ish.Don't be fooled. Some idiot at Berkley thought they could reintroduce Nanofil, copy Gliss and charge $30 for 150 yrds of "new" forward facing sonar line. It's extruded polyethylene just like nanofil and Gliss. I doubt they have improved the weaknesses of the product, even though I love the stuff, you can get Gliss for half the price. Probably all made in the same factory.
