Designed to squeak and scream across the top of the water, the Berkley Screamin' Choppo Topwater advances the fish-calling power of the original Choppo with a squeak-generating internal mechanism. Combining a metal tail insert, concentric rivet, and sound resonance chamber to produce its unique sound, the Screamin' Choppo is excellent for fishing in rough and choppy water, with loud acoustics that let bass locate the bait in tough topwater conditions.
Featuring a wide body construction that adds stability and prevents the bait from rolling on its side, the Screamin' Choppo is designed to run true and draw fish out from cover, resulting in exciting topwater bites. Armed with razor-sharp Fusion 19 hooks, the Berkley Screamin' Choppo Topwater is available in multiple sizes and in an array of color options to bolster your topwater presentations.
RollsLike others have already said, the bait rolls when retrieved, twisting your line. I have 2 and do the same thing. Basically a worthless bait.

Both I bought spin and stint lineGot two of these. They make an ok sound, but man they twist badly.
I'm sticking to my Whopper Ploppers. Never had any issues with my Whopper Ploppers, not even sure why I tried these. Now I'm out $30......ugh

No goodI'm usually a big fan of Berkley baits and couldn't wait for the Screamin Choppo to hit the shelves. But this one was a BIG disappointment. I wish I would've bought just 1 to try out instead of 4. As has been mentioned, this bait continuously rolls and creates bad line twist. Should be recalled.

UPDATEI think the rolling issue with this bait has to do with the tail wire angle. The line tie and tail wire are not in-line….every other plopper the line tie and tail wire are perfectly inline down the length of the bait. Berkeley may have realized this at some point because of you look at the pictures of each color down below…look at the color broken glass and cj shad next to each other. The broken glass pic the tail is pointing up a few degrees….the cj shad pic shows the tail wire inline with the line tie. Things that make you go “HMMMMM”

DISAPPOINTEDMight be ok if it didn't roll and twist your link line crazy. If I use it again I'll try a swivel.

Original Whopper Plopper is betterBeen fishing this new screamin choppo for the past couple weeks and I’m just not impressed. Just because a company puts something new on the market doesn’t mean it’s better. It’s pretty wide, too wide in my opinion. Tends to roll a lot. The plopping sound is not very loud. The original whopper plopper is way better in my opinion. Louder, more streamline, and runs true every time.

Squeaky bass candyI don't know what it is about the new tail, but it seems to make the bass even angrier. I've only had my bait (Bone 95) for a few weeks now, but have caught a lot of fish, and solid ones at that. I'll definitely be picking up more of these, in both the 95 and the 105.

Whopper flopper? The choppo is my plopper of choice by far! Was really excited for a new version. The metal plate and rivot do make a different sound…..however in my case there seemed to be too much resistance on the tail. The entire bait was rolling and twisting my line. Tried adjusting the tail wire a bit but fresh out of the package the thing just wouldn’t work consistently. Hoping it was just me, would like to hear from more people.

Worked on the first day.I got the 110 peppered smog and pulled a 6lb'r on my first trip out with it. I know that doesn't make it great in all conditions, but in early fall in north ga, it works lol. Excited to try it on another body of water this weeknd.
