Overview

Pro and avid anglers alike have been modifying the skirted legs of their hollow body frogs for years with the goal of creating a smaller target for bass to hone in on. That is why Lunkerhunt has developed the Lunkerhunt Compact Frog, which is designed to deliver maximum efficiency and higher percentage hook ups right out of the package.

Featuring a short, compact body that pushes a tremendous amount of water and produces a smooth consistent walk-the-dog action, the Compact Frog is also equipped with pre-trimmed skirted legs that help create a smaller profile and provide a target that bass can inhale in a single strike.

Outfitted with a beefy, wide gap, double hook, the body is molded seamlessly around the hook, allowing the Compact Frog to remain extremely weedless and still collapse easily for tremendous hook sets. Available in a wide range of highly detailed colors, the Lunkerhunt Compact Frog offers tournament-ready performance as soon as you tie it on.

Best frogI’ve never had good luck with frogs until I threw this. This is a bass killer. It walks the dog perfectly and the bass love the smaller profile. Highly recommend using this

Comments: Was getting a lot of short strikes, so tried out some smaller frogs.... but they just don't cast as well. I decided to try this out. I didn't have to boil the frog, I liked the hooks and how they sat on the frog right out of the package. Casts well enough to be effective even though it weighs less than the bully was. Walks a little differently for me with nose-up swish which I thought was different at first compared to the megabass frog. However, I ended up liking the way it walked because it caused commotion and stayed in the strike zone longer. The whole point was to increase hook up ratio on non-committal fish... Yeah, It worked right, the first time.

Comments: Extremely reliable frog and perhaps one of the best frog of today. Body is softer than a live target frog and so far, durability hasn't been an issue. However the paint scheme will come off faster than most other frogs unfortunately. One of the easiest frogs to walk and both sizes are phenomenal in open water or thick scum cheese mat. Easy to cast as well even against the wind. Doesn't pick up a lot of water but after a couple casts of course the usual squeezing water out is needed to ensure this frog stays buoyant. Don't hesitate to buy one, you won't regret it.

Comments: Love the shape, size, feel, and hook on these but 3 in a row I've bought have taken in water like a rock. Not sure if I got a bad batch but the ones I have are unusable.

From: Roy: Elkhorn, WI 9/1/22

Comments: Doesn't take on water, great hook up ratio, very soft body, and this frog produces a unique, slap when it lands. I'll wait 4-5 seconds after it lands before walking it back. I've caught multiple fish by just letting it land and sit there.

Comments: Very satisfied. Some Lunkerhunt lures are hit-and-miss, but this frog is for real! Casts like a rock. Great hook-up ratio due to soft body. Good choice for smaller bodies of water or when the bass want a smaller meal.

Comments: To me this is one of the better frogs on the market.  It cast well, comes through vegetation and slop with few problems, easy to cast, pretty rugged, sits in the water with the nose upward, doesn't take on a lot of water and the hook up ratio is pretty good, plus the hooks are stout.  I would just like to see a few more color variations offered.

Comments: I've pretty much read all the reviews here. Here's what I've got to contribute...I fish once or twice a day, every day. For the last three weeks, I've dedicated my time to these frogs. The Pocket frogs are fish magnets. Great action. Great look. Blow ups galore. I throw mine on a spinner with 20lb braid and a 18 foot 10lb floro leader. They don't take on water anymore than any other frog. Every few casts I give them a squeeze. They're like a 4X4, running through everything. I've yet to have a leg fall off and I'm throwing a few hundred times an outing. I can't quite nail down the best hook set method, and I've tested them all. So far, the best is wait for pressure and sweep the opposite direction. Then reel like crazy. My final point is about the price... how long do you expect a bag of senkos to last? Well, these are about the same price, last much longer, and get just as much attention from the fish. The amount of blow ups on these Pocket Frogs is insane.  I'm starting to think that the negative reviews are from competitors or avid fisherpeople that don't want you using their new favorite lure!

Comments: This frog is awesome. Sharp hooks, strong hooks. Very weedless, can be burned over the top of thick mats and come in with no veg on it. That's my favorite way to fish it, burn over mats and the bass destroy it. All around a good frog. Go sprinker frog for open water tho.

Comments: First time out 2 1/2 lb'er choked it first cast. Doesn't get any better than that. Casts very good for the smaller size. Didn't take on water. Seems like a thumbs up for lunkerhunt

Comments: This frog is the business!!! It's really nice to have a "Compact" frog because that's just what it is & it really works!!
