Overview

Many anglers have witnessed dragonflies being pulled under the surface by bass and wished they had a lure to accurately mimic the forage. Now Lunkerhunt gives you the perfect lure to match the hatch with the Lunkerhunt Dragonfly. Featuring double skirted wings and a realistic body design that makes it irresistible to hungry insect eating bass, it is also made from an innovative floating foam, which is extremely durable and won’t tear like traditional plastic or fill with water either.

The Lunkerhunt Dragonfly is exceptionally weedless and excels when fished around lily pads, tules, matted vegetation, and anywhere you find dragonflies landing on the surface. Last, a belly hook slot allows anglers to use a variety of hook styles and ensures an increased hook up ratio as well. Available in a range of natural colors, the Lunkerhunt Dragonfly will definitely put a buzz in your topwater fishing.

Comments: I bought the pondhawk fished with it must of the day. Love it, Caught several bass all great size for that pond.

Comments: It looks like an awesome lure, but it's not! The idea behind it is great as we have all been on the water while the fish are jumping all around you after those orange and blue dragonflies. Sadly the execution is poor. First off, the material they are made out of is closer to foam than plastic and has no action other than what the silicone strands provide, not to mention that the strands that act as the wings aren't even secured! they are just snugly threaded through the bait, so they fall out rather easily. I have bought 3 of them and they definitely get hit by the large-mouths, however, the hookup ratio has been terrible as I've had the hook gets buried in the body of the fly as well as other issues and only landed maybe 1 out of 6 or 7 strikes. I want to like this lure but my advice is to avoid it as losing those topwater bites is just painful.

Comments: If you are like myself, thinking this looks like it will really catch fish! My advise to you is, run far, run fast, poor design, inferior material make these lures a hard pass! I own many Lunkerhunt lures, and  I like most, but this one misses the mark in the fisherman's eye, and should have in the manufacturers as well.

From: Ron: San Jose, CA 12/24/19

Comments: I had been looking forward to this sort of bait to come out. Bought two as soon as they were available. The first one in black lasted about three casts and the body of the dragonfly split apart. Figured it was a possible bad batch. This Spring I went to take out the second one in blue from it's never opened packaging and it was already split on the body making it useless. Still hoping for a good looking dragonfly bait. Unless there are changes to the body on these I wouldn't buy them again.

From: Andy: Ma 7/12/19

Comments: The idea was sound but the execution was poor. I bought 2 of them, they are priced well. 1st problem, they supply wrong hook type,an ewg heavy cover 3/0. I found that a 3/0 or 4/0 light wire straight shank or offset is much better. 2nd problem, they dry rot in less than a week, I left 1 tied on and it was cracked where rubber strings enter through body as wings. I had to super glue repair them. 3rd problem, they can't come in contact with any other soft plastics they will melt & become mushy junk.

From: Bruce; Phoenix, AZ 5/23/19

Comments: Great concept, poor design. Seems to me that Lunkerhunt hurried production, maybe because they wanted to be the first company who made a dragonfly bait imo. Hope we get version 2 soon or another design with more r&d. BTW - captcha verification is getting a little overkill with the robot bs

Comments: I just used this lure for the 1st time to "match the hatch" and it was awesome. I had to work on how to rig the hook but this is now a go to favorite during dragon fly season.

From: Steve: Auston,Tx 8/6/18

Comments: Took this out for the first time a few nights ago. First issue is it doesn't even float. if there are any weeds at all good luck because it will grab every single weed it passes. glad these were only 5 bucks ill stick to a hollowbody frog.

From: Unknonwn 7/29/18

Comments: Just got 2 of these today, caught two 12" bass out if the cattails in 10 minutes, these things work

From: Chris: Moneta virginia 7/20/18

Comments: These baits are such a silent killer. They cast a mile and are completely weedless. Simply Texas rig this bait like you would any Senko and bury the hook back into the bait to make it 100% weedless. They aren't necessarily the prettiest bait of the bunch, but boy do they catch some hogs.

From: Ricky: Texas 5/11/18

Comments: I am not an expert, but there appears to be a serious design flaw in the two Lunkerhunt dragon  flies baits I just received. In all quality weedless soft  water baits I have bought, there is usually a channel on the top of the bait to lay your hook into to make it weedless. On this bait the hook channel is on the bottom of the bait and this makes no sense. I rigged the bait per their directions in the  package which are so small they are almost illegible. The bait does not work because of what I feel is a serious design flaw. The hook is not weedless because of this design flaw.

Comments: got one and well its freezing here in Texas so topwater isnt hot. but im a tackle junky and picked one up. looks great, feels cool, and comes with its own hook to rig with. come spring and summer this is going to be nuts.

From: Unknonwn: Houston, TX 1/26/18

Comments: FINALLY! The one product I been waiting for! There is a spot during the summer at 11am-1pm the dragon flies come out and its like Shark Week. Explosion after explosion for and hour or so straight. I always swap to top water but they are on to my ploppers and spooks now... THIS has me super excited and I cannot wait for the dead of summer to come and tie one on! Thank you Lunker Hunter.
