Comments: My 7'11" Heavy Composite rod is my go-to for not only medium and large cranks, but it is an awesome rod to throw keitechs and spinnnerbaits too. I 100% recommend to anyone looking into this rod, you won't be disappointed.

From: Zachary Miller: Redding, CA 5/3/23

Comments: Purchased the 7'11" heavy crankbait rod. Very light rod for how thick and big it looks. Purchased it for 10xds and it's just too stiff for cranking. It acts a lot like a fast action rod. However, it throws A-rigs great and seems to be an awesome rod for A-rigs (rigged with medium to small swimbaits).

Comments: Bought myself the 7'11 heavy crankbait rod for my deep crankbaits. This rod is light and it loads up good to cast your lures out there. I don't have any problems with the guides and I'm not easy on my gear. I throw anything that's a moving bait (reaction lure) on this rod and it performs well. Owned this rod for three years going strong and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to spend $200 plus for a rod.

From: Unknown 4/14/21

Comments: Got the 7'2 MedHvy (non composite) as my first cranking rod as well as my first powell rod. Used to mainly shimano rods, and I'm really impressed with this rod so far.
Pros: Rod is actually surprisingly light which I didn't expect, cranking rods in my experience tend to be heavier but this rod is light compared to any rod. The moderate-fast action is great as someone used to fast-extra fast rods, still getting that parabolic action for trebles while having a bit of backbone to lean into. Also they have the non glass models which combined with the mod-fast action is why I chose this rod as my first entry into cranking, and this rod is not at all noodly and limp like most cranking rods I've tried and disliked.
Cons: Non fuji guides and this was nearly a deal breaker for me but i decided to give them a try. The main guides seem fine enough, but the tip leaves something left to be desired in terms of quality compared to what I'm used to. Last con is more of a point of concern, but I've heard of these rods breaking and this rod definitely feels like I could break it pretty easily. However I put it through its paces this weekend with about half a dozen 3lb prespawn bass and a surprise 5lb snakehead on lipless cranks, and I never felt in the fight that the rod was going to break. It's just so damn light, I wonder how much trade off there is for durability but so far so good.
Overall I'm extremely impressed with this rod and I'll be checking out more powell rods this summer out of the non cranking lines.

Comments: I have the 7'2"MH composite rod. Really light, sensitive, balanced, and fishes great. No problems at all. Snagged a 20+lb carp today and landed it with no issue. Will probably buy more.

From: Larry: Charlotte, NC 2/9/20

Comments: I've had many Powells over the years and despite being really hard on my gear I have never broke a blank (only guides). For this series of CB rods, I have two of the 6'10', and one each of the 7' 5' & 7' 2' MH. I hauled in a 18lb striped bass on the 7' 2"MH on 40lb braid on a 1/2oz lipless. Great fight! Rod performed flawlessly. These rods are my go-to for small to med cranks. Love them. I use the 7'5" for med glides and a rigs.

From: Mike: El Dorado Hills 12/20/19

Comments: I bought two of the 7'2 med/hvy composite rods. First one broke in three places while snapping a trap out of some hydrilla. Sounded like a gun going off. About scared my partner half to death. Second one snapped in four places while swinging a 3 pounder over the gunnel. This makes 6 for 6 with Powell rods breaking in strange scenarios. Funny, my Falcons and Shimano and Dobyns never seem to break. Ever. Done with Powell for life. Save your money and buy another brand.

From: Brad: Texas 12/15/19

Comments: I picked up the 7'2" med heavy and wow. I met the owner at the Novi show and he recommended this rod, and I have to say it is by far the best 5xd/1/2oz trap rod I have ever thrown. Up here in Michigan unfortunately we have to crank grass, and if you get to whipy of a rod you cant RIP it free, especially early in the year throwing the trap. I've put this rod to the test and it has really held up quite nice. Lots of brown fish on a 5xd this year and this has been an absolute beast! It's a graphite rod, plenty sensitive, with a very soft tip. I would say mod fast but once you hit the backbone it is done flexing. Stiff enough to clear your plug but still enough tip to play em out on trebles. Love this rod, and at $139 it's a great "value" rod and I will try a few more from this series!

From: Franko: Mid, Mi 8/28/19

Comments: This rod is fine. Those that had problems well that stuff happens with all rods when improperly handled or the occasional manufacturer defect. All 3 of mine have held up well and work excellent for throwing the big deep cranks.

From: Unknown: 8/30/19

Comments: I never write a review, however after trying and sending back numerous rods, this one not only fit the description, but far exceeded my expectations. I got the 7'5" medium heavy. The rod is light and not at all tip heavy . The action is perfect. The price point is spot on if not to low. Thank you Powell Ross, you've made a loyal customer out of me.

From: Ryan: Greers Ferry Arkansas 1/9/19

Comments: Purchased the Endurance 7'11" heavy for deep cranking. Very disappointed with this rod. I had to return my original purchase in April for guide defects. Eyes were damaged and sharp. Received replacement in the middle of May. Rod didn't get much usage due to application and infrequent usage but broke loading up on a small fish (2lbs) in the middle of November (6 months). Returned the rod dissatisfied with this model only to find out it only had a 6 month warranty according to TW. Now, I only got back $55 dollars due to a $70 return fee from Powell. Called and left a message with the warranty department and have yet to hear anything from them. Save yourself the headache and stay away from this rod. Very upset and completely disappointed.

From: Mike: Pembroke Pines, FL 12/9/18

Comments: I have the 7116 cb. Nice looking rod. Not too heavy for the size. Thats about it. More of a fast action than a moderate crank action. Lacks of sensitivity to feel rocks on the bottom. Could be a good 10xd, heavy swimbait rod. I prefer a nice parabolic action for a deep diving rod and this one won't do it. Should have bought something else.

From: Max: Canada 6/23/18

Comments: Purchased the 7'11" cranking rod last week. My first impression of the rod was good. It was very light and balanced. However, on my first trip (3rd cast with a 5xd) the rod snapped halfway down the blank.  To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. I have emailed Powell's customer service to see what they have to say about it. Maybe I just got a bad rod. Hopefully Powell will make this right.

From: Matt: Brandon, MS 5/22/18

Comments: The 7'2 glass is flat out the best squarebill rod I've owned.  It's easily the lightest glass rod in this price range.  Good soft tip, but not so soft that it feels like a wet noodle.  Has just enough backbone you can fish cranks around heavier cover.

From: Matt: Florence, KY 5/15/18

Comments: I have the 725CB.... What a versatile rod. It has plenty of backbone to rip traps off the bottom out of grass and also wrench squarebill fish out of tight cover. Not only does it have the backbone, but it has a parabolic bend that keeps those treble hook fish pinned. With such a backbone it also is a great chatterbait or spinnerbait rod. To top it off, it is very very balanced, I was surprised because the original endurance line tended to be a bit tip heavy. Great job to Keith and his guys on developing a great rod.

From: Justin: GA 3/25/18

Comments: These rods are legit. Purchased the 7'3 H an the 7'5 MH Crankbait. These rods feel and fish like they should cost way more than $150, very light, well balanced, and look fantastic. The 755CB MH has got to be the greatest all round crank bait rod on the market. You can throw anything on it Lipless, Squarebills, Medium Divers, Deep Divers, Chatterbaits, and Spinnerbaits. I mostly use it for Lipless and Deep divers but it's a most have rod for your arsenal. Powell has out done themselves again.

From: Jim: Newark, DE 3/12/18

Comments: I have purchased two of these recently and they are great rods. They match right up with the old Endurance series. I could easily see these rods going for 250 instead of 139. The 705CB is an awesome cranking rod. It will also handle smaller spinnerbaits and medium sized jerk baits with ease. The 683 is excellent for close quarters fishing around docks.

From: RJ - 2/24/18

Comments: These rods are amazing. You get your monies worth for $139. If you are tired of big markups and cheap components, this is the rod for you! They are light and strong, actions are perfect.

From: Jeremy: Novato, CA 1/23/18

Comments: I recently purchased the 7'2" MH Graphite Cranking Model. Couldn't be happier with this stick. I've been a Powell guy for a long time dating back to the orignal Maxs and Endurances. Though I was fan of the Max 3D series, I did feel it was a slight shortcomer to the previous Endurance Model. These rods have come back full force and I definitely think they are equally as good or even better than the previous Endurance. Very light, well balanced, and also great sensitivity for the price. I honestly don't know if there's another rod out there that fishes better for under $200. Kudos to Keith and his team at Powell for knocking this one out of the park. This will definitely not be the last model I purchase. I'd recommend them to anyone.
