TrashLasted around a year then quit completely. Had trouble with the touch screen and display within a few months of owning.

Would Not RecommendI purchased this scale in the winter and used it all of my 2023 tournament season. I found that the scale was highly inaccurate and the margins were larger the larger the bag. I sent it to Rapala with details/examples of how inaccurate it was and their customer service sent me a new one within a few weeks. I fished two tournaments in October of 23 and the new one still proved to be 2-3 pounds off. I sent the second one back to Rapala and they sent me another new one which I have sold. I will be purchasing a different brand to replace this one.

Comments: Been using these for years and they have gone downhill for sure. I mean Im buying 2 of these a year and its getting old. Once the humidity hits they quit. Rapala needs to greatly improve their internals.

From: H$: Coatesville 9/12/23

Comments: A fishing scale that quits working if it gets wet at all. Never got to even weigh a fish on it. The concept is great but the follow through is horrible.

From: Unknown: 9/10/23

Comments: I recently purchased the rapala clips from this set from someone selling them on ebay. My buddy has the scale and the clips. He says he likes the scale. I just got the clips and they don't stay on the fish. Don't even think about grabbing the ball end and lifting the fish from the live well. I recommend the Dobyns clips....they stay on the fish.

From: Steve: Rockford, IL 9/11/23

Comments: Yes this scale is described perfectly by the person before me. You hang a fish from it it constantly reads 0. It's difficult at least with mine, which is new, used twice just does not perform. Tacklewarehouse, needs to immediately discontinue all sales on this scale. It's nonfunctional and I am not happy at all. I don't like wasting money. And I bought this scale because my catch commander is almost as bad for different reasons.

From: Unknown: 8/28/23

Comments: Accurate when it works, but doesn't work most of the time. Says "0" when you hang the fish on it. Tried all the tricks to clear it. Have to keep turning it on and off until it finally starts giving a weight. Not what I want to be doing during a tournament, while holding a fish. Very disappointed.

From: JB: NorCal 7/21/23

Comments: This is one of the best scales I've ever owned! It is always relatively close to actual tournament weights and makes culling fish so dang easy! The cull tags are on the cheap side; I use them to guide the fish to a place where I can grab the mouth rather than put the whole fish's weight on the clip. It's worked great so far! I love the total weight feature too.

From: Dylan: Minnesota 2/16/23

Comments: These are great scales , I have 9lbs of certified discs and I have checked 5-6 of these scales and they range from o to 3 hundredths variables in each of them , I have checked some of the big platform scales that are used to weigh fish at tournaments and they are the same

From: John : Tennessee 8/21/22

Comments: purchased this item last week. The scale seemed to work really well while in my shop. My first tournament, I placed three cull tags on fish and placed them in the livewell. Sadly, that was the only number of cull tags I used all day. However, at the end of the day, two of the three clips on the cull tags were broke. Cheap made clips. I could not get the scale to weigh the first fish. I will continue to work with the scale, as I believe this is a quality product. They just need to improve their clips.

From: Randy: Missouri 8/15/22

Comments: Just received this scale. Switched from the Rapala High Contrast Digital Scale 50lb scale which was not accurate at all. Checked for accuracy with different weights, 1.25, 2.5, 5, 7, 10, and it was spot on with aver weight and weight combination. It's easy to use and read. have not had long enough to evaluate durability, but just on accuracy, I strongly recommend.

From: Paul: Reno, NV 3/12/22

Comments: The baddest scale on the market. Worth every penny of it too. Keep up with your weights and cull. Three measurements for weighting. Waterproof, big screen display!

From: Jiggy: Brooklyn, NY 1/10/22

Comments: Seems to be pretty accurate overall for me. 2 tourn seasons down & so far so good. Wouldn't suggest using the cull tags that came with it though or at least not more than one tournament anyway. Donate to high schooler/new co-angler recommendation. Not very durable/strong clips imo. Folks, read the description the instructions are sewn into the storage bag. Seems to be fairly water resistant but I tend to take care of the items I purchased; not tossing em from deck back to coin locker and bouncing in box or hitting harder surface. Furthermore, its water resistant, resistant! Not proof, resistant. Take an second of time to sit down, again you won't toss your phone around the boat. Seen plenty of top level pro anglers using exact scales with zero problems, I haven't had any issues as well. Recommend the scales  don't recommend the cull tag included. Overall 9/10

From: Justin: Unknown 12/3/21

Comments: I have used the scale for a full season now; it performed as advertised with no failures. Weights were consistent (precise) and pretty accurate when I compared them to certified scales. Very handy tool, improved culling efficiency and confidence, enjoyed having it.

From: Scott: Arkansas 11/22/21

Comments: Bought this as I loved the ability to cull on the scale and it does a great job of this big storing the weights etc. Not a great scale of locking down the fishes weight. Works fine if no wind, or the fish plays dead, I would love it if it locked in the weight. I'm still using a culling beam now as this won't separate fish accurately by ounces which actually matters when tourney fishing.

From: Unknown: 8/1/21

Comments: Big help with sorting and culling fish. Love the the fact that it gives you a total. Clips are awful just toss them but the scale is awesome.

From: BRS 7/29/21

Comments: This is a scale you need to buy yearly. It is a GREAT scale until it gets tossed around the boat too much, or it gets water into the battery compartment or under the LCD. They are semi-water resistant, but leaving this out in a storm/hard rain, or it falls into the live-well for even 1 second, it is toast. Be careful with it - and you should be good. It is very easy to use, save all your fish to the appropriate #'d bin with a calculated final weight. This scale is definitely one of the best options without spending $80-100. If you want to spend the extra money I would suggest Brecknell or Catch Commander. These scales are VERY accurate as long as it has not been compromised. If you got one not accurate right out of the package - send it back and let them exchange it - they understand.

From: Daniel: Maple Grove, MN 3/17/21

Comments: Just received the scale. Not accurate at all. I've weighed 5lbs of sugar and flour and a few other things and it's not even close! A 5lb bag of sugar isn't even showing that it's a pound. Way off! Would not recommend!

From: Unknown: Indiana 1/21/21

Comments: This is a great investment. Whether you fun fish or on the tournament trail. Easy to use, keep the lie telling down.

From: Unknown: Brooklyn, NY 12/26/20

Comments: Would not recommend. Worked really well for the first year I had it, but the battery compartment is not water tight, and as a result moisture gets in and corrodes the battery contacts to the point that even replacing the batteries will not make the scale work. The corrosion on the contacts prevents the batteries from making a good connection. I would have thought waterproofing all the electronics on a fishing scale would be a no-brainer, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

From: Tanner - Davenport, IA 10/16/20

Comments: Excellent scale that is must-have for tournament anglers. This has made culling so much easier and saves time on the water. Not as accurate as other scales - I've seen up to 0.5lb deviation from official tournament scales on a 5 fish limit. For individual fish weights the accuracy deviation is better. Regardless, this is not a tool for dead nuts accuracy but instead to manage fish in tournaments where culling is allowed and it absolutely is a crucial tool for that purpose.

From: Matt: Missouri 7/8/20

Comments: This is one beast, of a scale. It does everything for you, except catch. Going on my third year using it. Great product, I highly recommend it.

From: Chris: Brooklyn, NY 1/26/20

Comments: purchased this on 3/16/19 and worked great for two tournaments then wont turn on.put new batteries in and still nothing.just water on my hand to weigh fish and now nothing work.

From: Troy: Nebraska 7/1/19

Comments: I have found this scale to be very accurate and necessary. Every time I fish with Iaconelli, I have to weigh his fish to correct his stated weight.  He used to get upset with the corrections, but now we just laugh and fish on. This scale works great, but spend the time ahead of getting on the water to learn to use it to its potential.

From: Russ: NJ 4/24/19

Comments: Great product! Very accurate....you know right where you are throughout the day. Two tournament wins and this scale matched the weigh in scales perfectly. Easy to operate and see while on the water. Paired with Cali Coast cull system, great pair. gave a Co angler the balls that came with this set.

From: Unknown 8/14/18

Comments: I own 2 of these and use them for a medium size tournament in South Africa. Have weighed 100s of fish on them and they have been reliable simce day 1. I've only had to replace the batteries once in 8 years!! Pretty impressive!!

From: Hugo: Alberton 3/29/18

Comments: Have owned one of these for over 4 years and with age the ability to read it in direct sunlight gets progressively harder.  A bit cumbersome and once you learn how to store the weights it is nice product.  Just wish it was brighter for used in blue bird skies.

From: Richard: WI 1/29/18

Comments: Works good until it gets wet. Got some water on the screen and it no longer works.

From: Cameron - Orange 12/19/17

Comments: I've had this scale a few months now and it has been great. The cull tag clips shown above are not the ones that came with mine. The ones I got are plastic clips that have worked really well. When clearing a bin at a time on the bottom 4, I have to press and hold the undo button then press the bin I want to select instead of pressing both at the same time.

From: Unknown 8/17/17

Comments: Great scale and pretty accurate. I like to way my fish during the tournament day and this scale usually shows a little light on my total but nothing over 3oz . One word of advise is, don't submerge it in water. Mine accidentally fell in and took 3 days to dry out and start working again... Give the cull tags to a co-angler just starting out

From: Unknown 6/23/17

Comments: Great scale till you drop it in livewell. Wish it were more waterproof

From: S. Green: MO 6/16/17

Comments: ive owned this scale for 2 years. felt very confident in it but never caught anything more than 4lbs to weigh. today i caught a bass that looked to be my new pb (previous only being 6.22lbs) i go and weigh this fish and it says 5.99. the fish was 22.5 inches long with a 17 inch girth. i put these measurments into 12 different largemouth weight conversion websites and the average came out to 7.2lbs. this scale dosent seem very curate when it comes to larger bass. could be because its been in heavy rain a few times and rusted some of the metal internals idk

From: Unknown 3/30/17

Comments: For all the ones cutting off take a piece of aluminum foil and fold into a small square where it is about the width of a dime  and stick one in with each battery works great

From: Unknown 2/27/17

Comments: By far, the best scale I have ever used. Very accurate, easy to use, and great battery life. I've had it for over a year and have no complaints. I've had cul-m-rite and others that are way more expensive and this outperforms all of them. Great investment for $50.

From: Chris: Lake Havasu City, AZ 11/30/16

Comments: Great scale and works awesome in a tournament. Worst thing about it is the clamp that holds the fish, this parts sucks. So it bought a fish gripper and added it onto the scale in stead of the clamp or hook that comes with it. Now it is just bloody awesome!!

From: Lourens: South Africa 5/10/16

Comments: Great scale. Highly recommend. The ability to cull weights is really good feature.

From: Casey: Millboro, VA 10/24/15

Comments: Awesome scale, to answer Russ, the instructions are on the inside of the black cloth bag that comes with it....

From: Garreth: Cape Town, South Africa 6/10/15

Comments: Great scale. Great value. Especially compared to the Cull-M-Rite. Easy interface, hardly uses any battery power & very close weights to what is weighed officially. I recommend it.

From: Miles: USA 5/24/15

Comments: I was really excited and purchased 2 of these. The issue that I have is that the on/off button sticks and that makes this very tough to turn on quickly. Very tough on the fish when it takes a minute or so to turn on and be able to weigh the fish. Being a trophy hunter and catch and release guy, I have to admit that this somewhat expensive scale does not satisfy my requirements because of the sticking button issue.  I am shocked that Normark did not identify this problem and fix it.

From: Jack: Kissimmee, FL 4/12/15

Comments: This scale is very accurate and easy to use. Unfortunately they will routinely turn themselves off before you can get a weight on your fish. I've owned two of them and they have both done the exact same thing. If Rapala were able fix this issue this would be an excellent scale but as it stands now I can not recommend it.

From: Daniel: AZ 1/20/15

Comments: scale is great. Tags are garbage buy good ones. Way better value than cull m rite.

From: Miles: AZ 3/30/14

Comments: The scale is awesome, however the clips on the cull tags suck. I just replace the lip clips with the safety pin type holder that way the bass won't shake them off and you will always be able to tell what fish is what number. Buy it.

From: Jeremy: Dover, DE

Comments: I would tell the weigh in official my weight (+-.12 ounce) before the weigh in was conducted. Best investment i made in 2013. Would highly recommend this product.

From: Craig

Comments: Been using this for a few years.  It does have some quirks -have to push the screen a couple of times sometimes, or it turns off inadvertently (but it doesn't loose the previous entries), but, in general, works fine for me.  A little unintuitive to use, but the instructions are sewn into the bag (once you remember how, its easy).  I removed the clip and added a large single barbless hook.  I also threw out the fish clips and made my own, using the numbered bouys that came with it and replacing stiffer nylon rope and plastic fish stringer clips (lighter than the metal ones).  The scale by itself is worth every penny (compare to the more quirky Cull-M-Rite scales $).  I found the weights to be dead on, if you have inaccuracies, it might be that you tared it incorrectly. I haven't dropped mine in the water, but it has been splashed plenty of times (probably every time I use it) so it seems to be adequately waterproof.  Don't get the neg comments, but I'm happy with mine.

From: John: Monroe, Indiana

Comments: Scale is user friendly, and produces very repeatable readings.

From: Jesse: Waterford, MI

Comments: Works great until it gets damp. Returned it for another only to have that one fail too. If they could keep out the moisture they would have a great product. Very user friendly until it fails.

From: Lee: Hbg, PA

Comments: Extremely accurate. Warning: Not very waterproof. Used it in the rain in a tournament and it began to not work properly. Took all winter for it to dry out to where it now works. The touch screen is not very workable, have to push on the buttons real hard to register.

From: Max: Lacrosse, WI

Comments: Love this scale its accurate and has great features

From: Louis

Comments: Worked good for the first couple times and now its wayyyy off. Im better off taking a guess

From: BRAMBO199

Comments:  Wow! All the negative reviews on this product This scale is highly accurate. It might have been a 1 oz off on a 29 lb. sack. I have used all kinds of scales and have yet to find one as good as this. Being able to store your weight, add your weight, and even the number the fish is on the culling system that comes with it but I use Ardent Smart Cull system so i used fingernail polish and painted the color beside the number  and it makes it so easy to know which fish to cull. I have seen about 25 or 30 people in our area with this scale and nothing but high praise for this scale. Buy this and you wont go back to any other electronic scale.

From: Heath: Leighton, AL

Comments: When it works I really liked it.  Found it to be pretty accurate.  Problem I consistently have, is it will  automatically shut off before getting fished weighed.  It worked good at first but now having issues.

From: Chris: Maryville, MO

Comments: Sorry but this thing just ain't accurate.  The same test weight (established on a certified scale) varied by .20# over multiple attempts.  Maybe I got a lemon.  Maybe not.  TW made it right, as always.

From: TunaKiller: Bodega Bay, CA

Comments: Just used this scale at my last tournament. It was great highly recommend it.

From: Greg: Nova Scotia, Canada

Comments: I've had great success with this scale. I weighed a number of pike last weekend and it worked great. Don't let the look fool you, the clamp on the scale is very strong and held feisty pike in place. Unlike the previous poster, I've found this scale to be accurate. I weighed dumb bell weights and other random things and it was spot on. Compared to other scales I've used in the past, it is far superior. I highly recommend.

From: Nathan: Kingston, Ontario, Canada

Comments: This scale is not accurate! I bought this scale and fished a KVD big bass tournament and it was over 1/4lb off, then I fished another tournament and weighed a fish and it said it was 4.60 and the tournament scale said it was 4.96, its a very nice scale and i love the design of the scale but its not accurate

From: Dustin: Arkansas

Comments: Great scale and like stated before the clip is alot stronger than it looks nice product from Rapala.

From: Lance: Livingston, TX

Comments: I weighted several dumbell weights i had 2, 3, 5 8 and 10 pounds. weighed them all and went back after weighing the larger and the smaller weights were right on even going back and forth several times. Turned it off and reweighed them again next day-same weights. The bag can be thrown away if you are not looking for it and this is where the instructions are on a water resistant sheet, attached inside the bag.

From: Andy: Houma, LA

Comments: The plastic clip is a lot stronger than it looks in the picture. It will hold fish and they can wiggle all they want, but that grip will not let go as it swivels around while the fish is attached. I was upset when I first got it because it doesn't come with instructions, but you can download them off the Rapala site - http://www.rapala.com/products/tools/touch_screen_scale - so far they are fairly accurate to within a few hundredths of an ounce. When fish are that close, the cull beam comes out so it's not a problem!
