Comments: Best investment I have made. I use my crankbait 80% of the time to fish so I get hung up more than most. With these, I have only lost ONE this season and the knocker when they do the draw down on our lake Imma retrieve both back. From the boat they work like a charm, they released from tree limbs, stumps, in between rocks all terrain. I have found though they do not work well on jigs or swim baits they are too light but I have tried and did get my knocker back. Otherwise great buy and keep them stocked on our boat.

Comments: I tired these from a buddy of mine. We both agree that the success rate from shore is bad but when you visibly get stuck on limbs and stumps out of the water i keep it the line slightly slacked and send that bad boy flyin. When it hits the bait it eiher comes lose or ill send it again and as it hits i pull the rod and it comes back to me with a 85% rate. works great from a boat.

Comments: Hate losing your $6 $7 $10 crankbaits to those pesky trees?? I do. Try this, it can save you a few lures. I have tied it on a rope and used it in a few trees to get my crankbaits back. It does work.

Comments: These things work great. Even if you save your lure a few times, they pay for themselves. Success freeing the lure depends on a lot of things, but typically if used correctly you can have a pretty high success rate saving lures. First THESE WILL NOT WORK FROM BANK FISHING, YOU WILL LOSE LURE AND KNOCKER. You need to be able to get over top of the lure or at least at a very steep angle. They aren't going to work from a 30 degree angle standing on shore, they will slide down the line and hit the bottom before ever hitting the lure, or if they do hit it, it won't matter because lure is hung from same direction you would trying to free it. Second, the deeper the water you are hung up in, the less likely it is to work if it doesn't knock it loose on the first fall. If you are trying to get your azuma, 6th sense, strike king, or norman deep cranks out from being hung in 25ft of water, you probably want to try something heavier with a line attached like a hound dog or the squid looking ones with chains to hang in trebles. These are mostly made for shallow to mid range cranks down to about 10-12ft tops. They can work deeper, but its harder. You wanna get your boat or kayak over top the lure clip it on, then lift line and drop it. I like to have slack in line and use my hands with the line. As it falls down line, give it a lil slack right before it hits the lure. If it doesn't knock it free first try, then you wanna jig it up and down soft at first then if it still won't free start jigging it hard like your yo-yoing a big spoon or ratl trap. Then usually it will come free. If it's in a rock or wood or structure, it will likely come free. If it's hung up in a giant ball of Billy Bob Jr's 90lb big game line that he was fishing with a 9/0 hook and roboworm and got hung on a 3lb branch so he cut off 200yds of line in the water and now from current and waves its wrapped tightly around every rock and stump off the point you're fishing then no, it's probably not coming free no matter what you do.

Comments: Don't mind getting snagged so much any more, cause these bad boys work freaking awesome.

From: Bryan: PRESCOTT VALLEY 3/12/21

Comments: Don't bother using these from land, you will just lose your lure and the knocker.

From: Matt: PEORIA 3/2/21

Comments: Will not leave the house without them. These have saved me hundreds.

From: Jim Bobway: KY 10/1/20

Comments: These work, not 100% but well worth the $.  Paid for mine twice over in first trip.

From: Unknown 8/18/20

Comments: I agree with the positive reviews. My success rate is above 90% as I have only lost a knocker once out of about 20 hangups over the several trips I've taken since purchasing these. By far worth the small investment especially given the expense of lures and time needed to tie on a new one.

From: Bill: San Juan Capistrano, CA 6/19/20

Comments: Amazing product. I've never been hung up in my life but I fish with a lot of co-anglers who are constantly getting snagged, this is a life saver. Just clip it on the line, troll over to the snag and jig up like a spoon. Pops out way more times than not. If it snaps, it's only $2 bucks gone! Just kidding - I get hung up quite a bit

Comments: I never leave the dock without a couple of these on the boat. With the price of today's expensive crankbaits, these little gems pay for themselves in just one or two fishing trips. They have saved me quite a few dollars. I like to position the boat as directly over the hung bait as I can, then snap one on my line and drop it on a tight line, when I think it's almost to the bait I will lower the rod to put some slack in it right as it contacts the bait. That usually gets it out 90% of the time. If it is still stuck just twitch the rod back in the direction the bait came from to bounce the knocker and knock the bait loose. My success rate is pretty high with it. You can also tie a light line to it to pull it up and let it fall multiple times if need be. So far I've only lost one.

Comments: Purchased these after reading the reviews.. I must have missed something because when I got stuck and I hook one of these things on to my line, it just sits there. For the life of me I could not get it to slide down the line to my stuck lure. I've tried it on floro, suffix 832 in #30 and #40 pound and it was like it was just glued to my line.. also I'm fishing from land so that might be the determining factor..

From: Olman: SW Florida 10/24/19

Comments: So simple, yet so effective!  Running about a 80% success rate with retrieving deep cranks from 20+ ft of water in heavy timber.  Would like to see an enclosed snap ring that didn't have the wire sticking out  thou..

From: BassinWade: Toledo Bend 8/14/19

Comments: I fished a lot as a co-angler this year.  Every time out, I bring a pack of these.  Beside 2 of these attached to my trolling motor, I keep 2 in my pocket.   Methinks, I've attached these to at least 6 other boats.  Tell a friend!

From: Tom - Oregon 10/22/18

Comments: Instead of fizzing your fish, tie one of these onto your line, put the weight down the fishes gullet, push it in up to the wire, don't go deeper than that. the pointy shape lends itself to this free spool and let the fish sink down to the bottom, then give gentle tug and the fish goes free. i fizzed multiple crappie and bass with this technique. no need to use a needle. the weight pulls them down so they can decompress. and yes, obviously this retriever has saved me hundreds in jigs. another tip, is that if you have a smaller bait stuck like a ned rig, push your line into the smaller wire holder, that way it doesnt slip over a small bait (and you don't lose the knocker)

From: John: 1/10/18

Comments: This has already paid for itself 3 times over!  Used on a heavy tungsten worm rig to get out of rocks in a 30+ft deep hole, then used it on a big SK 8.0 Magnum to get it out of a tree.  Works best when you put it on and let it go to the bait, then pull the boat above the hang and bounce your rod tip away from the structure in the direction the bait came from and it just pops right off.  Bought some plasti-grip liquid rubber to dip these in so they don't scratch or chip the paint off my baits when I use them.  With a pack of 3 this is priceless.  Keep one tied to the boat, one in my pocket, and a spare clipped on to each tackle bag.

From: Jr: Florida 8/1/17

Comments: Some things are just no-brainers like this lure retriever.  It's not going to make it back every time but at the current price point it won't break the bank when u do lose one. Has paid for itself many times over. I share mine with friends and everyone has been happily amazed at how well it works.

From: Fatswarcat: Rocky Bottom tn 6/15/17

Comments: these things are great. I fish as a co angler a lot so I don't have room for an extra pole. They work much better than I thought they would, haven't lost a lure since I bought them.

From: Kevin: Martinez, GA 9/13/14

Comments: Wow. Been living under a rock for the last five years using a pole lure retriever. Not only do these retrieve your bait considerably better but they are also easier to use, easier to store, and dont cut into your line. No joke my success rate with a pole lure retriever is probably around 25%. With these so far I have been 100% in about 15 uses.

From: Nate: Pasco, WA 7/24/14

Comments: GREAT IDEA, WORKS WELL AND YOU DONT GET IT SNAGED ON EVERTHING IN THE BOAT.

From: Bob: AL

Comments: Easy and quick to use. Just the size, saved me a lot of money.

From: Nate: Atoka, TN
