Overview

*Not recommended for use on Minn-Kota Edge or Motorguide Pro Models

Endorsed by Elite Series pro, Gerald "G-Man" Swindle, the G-Force Trolling Motor Handle is a quantum leap forward in trolling motor replacement rope technology. It features a rugged, nylon jacketed stainless steel cable with a large comfortable cushioned grip handle to solve the problem of the cheap lift & release ropes on today's trolling motors.

As trolling motors have become more powerful, complex and heavier, the lift systems from the manufacturers have not kept pace. Too often anglers are faced with broken ropes and handles often in critical times, especially tournament guys. The G-Force Trolling Motor Handle solves that problem once and for all. Designed to fit most trolling motor models, the G-Force Trolling Motor Handle even comes complete with a hook-n-loop strap to secure to the motor shaft while underway. Built to last and lift in the most difficult situations, the G-Force Trolling Motor Handle is the last lift & release system you’ll have to buy.

Please Note: This item is not available for order outside of the United States.

Comments: This trolling motor handle is garbage. The stud that holds the wire into handle pulls the coating off the wire and will send you flying. It did it to me and I fell backwards on a few rods and broke the rods so this handle has cost me a few hundred dollars at this point. Don't buy.

From: Wes: Florida 9/2/23

Comments: Well the handle has come off twice and the last time it sent me to the emergency room for x-rays. It's a piece of crap. Just order an OEM replacement and save yourself the pain.

From: Roger: South Carolina 10/10/22

Comments: A completely flawed design. I've had mine for 2 months and it has broken at the handle 3 times. Or shall I say the handle has come loose from the cable 3 times. I finally tied the cable into a small knot, cinched it down and pulled the knot back into hole in the handle. Hopefully this solves the flaw. The nut with the allen screws does not hold effectively.

Comments: Broke cable at handle, one year old. will still buy another to replace it..

From: Unknown 3/23/21

Comments: I've had mine for about 2 1/2 years on a Minn Kota Fortrex and it snapped on the last trip so it lasted about the same length of time as my original rope cord.No bueno! This is where I have to differ with many of the other reviews. These don't last as long as you may think and instead of mindlessly buying a replacement for $45, I decided to do some checking into other options.Within 5 minutes I found several YouTube videos by do it yourselfers showing how they built their own.For about $6 at Home Depot I bought 3/16" nylon coated metal wire cord which is heavier gage than the G Force and the hardware needed to make a new primary cord and spare emergency cord.I was able to recycle the old G Force handle by drilling a larger diameter hole in it and used the old rope cord handle to make the spare.

Comments: I put one of these handles on my new Ultrex. It worked fine but the hard plastic handle makes a loud noise when dropped on the deck so every time you deploy you must lay it down gently. I put the original Ultrex cable and handle back on and like it better.

From: Gary: Texas 7/18/20

Comments:Purchased this for a new Ultrex.Install the handle before you secure the Ultrex motor to the mount. It takes less than 5 mins to install start to finish.Great product btw!I have another G-Force on a Maxxum I've been using for years.

Comments:Purchased the G-Force handle after reading some reviews I was kinda skeptical, but from previous experiences knew I needed to change the rope so I gave it a shot. Well ladies and gentlemen I say do it .This made my day of getting the trolling motor up and down a very easy process. If you have ever experienced your trolling motor rope break and go flying around the boat that is not a fun day.

From: MARK: Plumas Lake 3/20/17

Comments:I live in Florida on Lake Toho and I aND was constantly breaking cords. I installed the G-Force handle and it's the deal no more breaking cords and I installed it in less than five minutes. It's definitely worth the money....

Comments:Mike Crump here. I just wanted to talk a little bit about the T-H Marine G-Force Handle. In my opinion it is an awesome product. Super easy to install and works great. Don't have to worry about a rope breaking. Nice big comfortable handle. I have been using the G-FORCE Handle for three years now with no issues. It is a definite purchase product in my view. The G-FORCE Handle is a product of T-H Marine--that means quality, as is all of their products.

From: Unknown 2/21/17

Comments:This has got to be one of the best ideas and a must on every boat. I even have it on my duck boat!! My main reason for having the G Force is the confidence that I won't spend one minute of my time on the water having to replace my trolling motor cable!! Thank you to TH Marine. Great product

From: Brad: Muscle Shoals, AL 2/21/17

Comments:I have had this product on my last two Bass Cat's will be getting my new boat next week and I plan on putting another one on it is very simple to install and I haven't had any problem I would recommend this handle and cable to anyone

From: Jeff: Jonesboro 2/20/17

Comments:I was hesitant to purchase this replacement due to bad reviews on the product. I found myself in a bind when my original Minn Kota cord broke for the final time and was beyond repair. I had to go to a local store for a new one, and they only had two to choose from, this one, or a super cheap looking Minn kota, so I decided on this one. The installation of this handle was easy, although the instructions showed an incorrect way to mount to my Fortex. The ball at the end of the cable had to run through the hole of the trolling motor pull arm the opposite way of the instruction manual. After reading these reviews I decided to beef up the washer inside of the handle by adding a second one. Make sure when you're tightening the set screws into the cable that you're apllying an equal amount of torque to each side of the deal that secures the cable preventing slippage through the handle. I HAVENT HAD ANY ISSUE IN THE SIX MONTHS IVE BEEN USING THIS PRODUCT. I ACTUALLY LOVE IT. ITS WAY MORE COMFORTABLE THAN THE ORIGINAL.DONT HESITATE TO BUY THIS PRODUCT. IF I WOULDVE LISTENED TO THESE REVIEWS I WOULDNT HAVE. GLAD I WAS FORCED INTO THE DECISION!

Comments:My comment is in relation to reviews written in 2015 and 2014 listing either the T-H handle breaking or the washer system failing in the handle. I have a solution for cord/handle original parts and the after market replacements. First: the original handle and washers etc. will probably be just fine. Second: just replace the cord. The nylon lift cord on my new Minn KotaForetrex 112 broke within two weeks. I replaced the cording with 3 feet ofplastic covered stainless cable as big as the hole through mounting would allow: approx. 3/16 inch. The cost was less than $2.00 at the local hardware.I used the original washers and handle. The cable was thick enough to require a pliers to snug up the knots at both ends but once done it is now totally secure and the thick cable doesn't blow around in the wind. The most important question is why can't the trolling motor companies figured this out and put on the correct cable. There should be no need for after market fixes for a part this simple. And the after market replacements should be of a quality that does not break and thereby receive a negative review.

From: Warren Williams: Melrose MN 12/11/16

Comments:I have a different issue. This one could be corrected by me just paying closer attention, but nevertheless it is an issue. The cable, the whole reason to buy this because it won't wear out, wore through the covering on the cable that leads away from my trolling motor.Sawed right through it and pretty quickly, I might add.I had to make sure that every time I use the cable, it had to be against the housing of the trolling motor, not the cable.Had to repair my cable with black electric tape.I'm getting a new boat and I won't have one of these.Too many issues.I'm just gonna watch my cord.

From: Coach: Shell Knobb, MO 11/6/16

Comments:After using this handle for over a year now, overall I feel it is a great improvement over a rope handle, BUT there is one modification that needs to be made. Like other reviewers here have experienced, I had the cable pull through the flimsy washer that was included with the kit during a tournament. Fortunately I found a small stainless nut that slid over the cable and got me back in action. I would definitely recommend that anyone installing this handle chunk the included washer in the trash and find you a small stainless nut that is similar in dimensions to use in its place.

From: Jeremy: Friendswood, TX 7/14/15

Comments:The handle is the weak link in this design. I had two handles break due to the washer and retainer pulling through the plastic inside the handle.

From: John: Houston, TX 6/16/15

Comments:Purchased to replace an OEM handle. Cable is great and very durable, but the handle is plastic and doesn't match the durability of the rest of the kit. The handle cracked and split open after a little more than a year of use & right in the middle of a tournament to boot. Manufacturer definitely needs to redesign the handle to take the abuse dished out in this application & match the durability of the cable.

From: Duke: Wake Forest, NC 6/14/15

Comments:Bought one of these and the handle broke after a month. Emailed the company and they wouldn't sell me just the handle. Would not recommend.

From: Jimmy: Waxahachie, TX 3/8/15

Comments: I installed handle correctly and went to the lake, put my minn kota in the water one time...once i was ready to move..grabbed my T-H Marine handle and was pulling my trolling motor out of water, cable pulled through handle

From: Jason: Nashvegas, Tn 11/8/14

Comments:After a few months of use, this cable failed. The washer assembly that connects to the release mechanism on the trolling motor pulled through the opening. An on the water repair was impossible with the basic tools I carry and was forced to install a basic pull rope I carry for situations like this. Wire cable is durable. Great. The connections used on the handle and trolling motor clearly are not which renders the durability of the cord useless.

From: Michael: Nashville, TN 7/13/14

Comments:Purchased the G-Force to replace the broken OEM pull-cable on my Motoguide (Digital Tour Series). I was initially very impressed with the G-Force, it seemed significantly better than the OEM system (Lasted 3 yrs.)\ But after less than a year of use the cable pulled through the cheap plastic handle.

From: Gilbert: Spring Branch, TX 7/13/14

Comments:ya'll must be abusing the heck out of this thing to break so many of them! i've had 2 of these (one on each of my last 2 boats) and both have been awesome to me. but i handle it with care

From: Kevin: TN 6/21/14

Comments: poorly made. broke first time out. cable pulled through the washers. Ruined my fishing day. Had to cancel and go in. Replaced with the oem cable from minnkota. Would not waste my money again

From: Curtis: Alamo, CA USA

Comments:Only the 3rd time out the handle split in half. TW will replace, but still. T-H Said they have came out with a new handle design and they will send me one of those, so we will see if that is any better. All in all I'm very disappointed. I could have went to Lowes and got the good vibration handle for less money and problems.

From: Chip: Fredericksburg, VA

Comments: Very nice handle and easy to install. After a few weeks, the cable slip from the handle.

From: Kenneth: Jacksonville, FL

Comments:Install was very easy, handle is very comfortable, but after a few weeks the same problem happened as everyone else (Handle cracked and the cable slipped out of the handle). Will use it until it breaks again. Would buy again IF they fixed this problem

From: Alex: CT

Comments: I had the same experience as Kyle. the 2nd time I took my boat out with this cable, the cable itself broke out of the handle. I tightened it down until the allen wrench bent so I bought a minn kota rope again. Wouldn't recommend.

From:Kristopher:Fort Worth, TX, USA

Comments:The handle broke the second time I used it. Pulled right through the bottom. I put the motorguide handle on it and it works great.

From: Kyle: Green Bay WI

Comments:Works great should have bought this long time ago, best price around. Install took all of 5 minutes absolutely love it....

From: A: lake view alabama

Comments:Very easy to install. The cable is very rugged and can take a beating, but the handle is plastic. My handle broke after about a month of use. I didnt bother calling to get a replacement just to have it break again. Instead I made a new handle out of a piece of stainless tubing. I wish the original handle had been made of aluminum or something more durable.

From: James: West Monroe, LA

Comments:Great Product! Installed on MinnKota very easily. Actually makes lifting the TM easier somehow. Saw the factory replacement rope/handle and had to laugh.. why would you go that route again if you know about this option!

From: Andy: Houma, LA

Comments: So easy to install on my motorguide, really cool accessory, would recommend to everyone

From: Willis: Panama City Beach, FL

Comments: Its easy to install , looks great , and TW low price, thats 3 of 3,it doesn't get any better than that
