Overview

Just as lethal as the original, the Z Man Finesse Shroomz Weedless delivers all of the fish-catching capability of its predecessor – now with a V-shaped weedguard that allows it to be fished more aggressively around cover. Perfect for pairing with Z Man’s Finesse T.R.D., the Z Man Finesse Shroomz Weedless features a wire keeper along the shank of the hook, which holds soft plastics firmly in place. A standout choice for fishing around brush, laydowns, and grass, the Z Man Finesse Shroomz Weedless allows anglers to utilize the proven effectiveness of the Ned rig around more rugged terrain.

Previous Feedback

Comments: While I agree with most reviewers the weed guard is too stiff, I disagree about the hooks. It's gonna bend...it's light wire.  However, for the intended purpose, the hooks are great. I prefer the light wire hook. Keep them super sharp and all you have to do is apply pressure and the hook is set. 6lb and under line, BFS is the name of the game. I use the original and it's my favorite Ned head by far.

Comments: All you have to do to make these work great is cut off 1 wire guard and leave 1. Still weedless and you have a much better hook set. Braided line helps too. Set drag loose for big fish.

Comments: I agree with many of the opinions about these jigs, the weed guard is far to stiff, it hinders the hookset. When you do jack a bass to compensate for the stiffness of the guard, the light wire hooks bend and the fish is off. It's a design flaw and could be easily fixed, I like Z-man products and will still use them, just not these jigs. Sadly I cannot recommend them.

From: Eric Huntsinger: Wapwallopen, PA 6/20/19

Comments: These are not quality hooks. The few fish I've caught on these were pinned solidly fairly well. However, I'd the hooks get hung up in the slightest cover, they're prone to bend out of shape. The wire is thin and flimsy. Regardless of the quality of Zman's plastics, this set of highways should be avoided.

From: Joseph: Arlington, VA 3/25/19

Comments: The hooks are bad and the weed guard is way to strong. fish can't even get hooked because of the weedguard.

Comments: The 1/5th oz jig head's are way to heavy for the Big TRD worm's to float up.They just sit on the bottom and DON'T float up at all.A waste of money for me!!

From: Unknown 4/7/18

Comments: The weed guard is way to stiff for this application.  For such a light wire hook, the weed guard requires too much force to bend down during the hook set, resulting in less penetration than is acceptable for reliable hook ups. Ally that with less than sharp hooks and light line on finesse gear, and this jig head just doesn't work.  Perhaps one of the wire guards could be removed, but the quality of the hook does not warrant going through the trouble to make this jig usable.  Z-Man is great at soft plastics, but many/most of their terminal tackle/jigs/etc. lack quality and seem to be poorly designed.  This bait is a prime example.

Comments: Bought these for ned rigging. I loved them at first. The weed guard is amazing. You can split it into a V & you will VERY rarely get snagged. However, after using them for a while I found that the hook they use for these are very fragile. I've broken them a handful of times on pretty mild hooksets. They always seem to break in the exact same spot where the bait keeper meets the bend of the hook. It seems like whatever method they are using to attach the bait-keeper to the hook is weakening it. I've noticed the same issue with the non-weedless finesse shroomz. I wish they would fix this issue because otherwise these jig heads are perfect for ned rigging.
