Overview

Designed to get those monster bass out of the heaviest cover, the ZoneLoc Wide Gap Magnum Worm Hook is built with a unique, multi-patented, hook design, which increases your hook-up ratio and fish retention like no other hook on the market. There are a few key features that make ZoneLoc’s cutting-edge hook technology possible. First, it features a unique offset main bend just below the barb that keeps fish in the main bend or “sweet spot” of the hook like no other hooks on the market. The offset main bend design greatly increases fish retention by also protecting fish from the barb of the hook, which is a common problem with fish retention on standard hooks. The extremely sharp barbs can and will cut a bigger hole in a fish’s jaw, allowing them to slip off the end of the hook.

Another key feature of ZoneLoc hooks is the shorter distance between the hook point and the main bend or “sweet spot” of the hook. This allows fish to dump into the main bend of the hook faster than with normal hooks despite the offset main bend design - for lightning fast hooksets. ZoneLoc’s Wide Gap Magnum Worm Hook is perfect for flipping, pitching, Texas-rigging, or Carolina-rigging when you need extra power to battle bigger fish and get them out of those hard-to-reach places.

Comments: Tried a few pack of these and found that hooked and held fish just great...except that the eyes are not welded shut.  I lost several good sized bass when using braided line and had the knot slide off of the hook when the fish mad a run away from the boat.  All I had left was the knot which slid out of the hook eye.  I contacted Zoneloc and they said I should use their welded eye hooks which cost about $3 more a pack. Not a good answer.  They did not offer to replace the defective hooks.  I won't ever use them again.

Comments: I gave these a try yesterday 7/16/17 pitching soft plastics (beavers & worms). The good was every fish I hooked stayed buttoned up. But the bad was after a while the first hook rolled the point over. So I switched it out with a fresh one. Then that hook rolled the point over also. I put my Gamakatsu EWG back on and never had anymore problems. Lesson learned and glad I only purchased two packages of ZoneLoc. These hooks may be alright fishing in grass or a flat bottom, but they are not very good  to use around rock or wood cover. Maybe i just got a bad batch?

Comments: Just got back from Lake El Salto, took a variety of hooks down with me,and by far, these hooks had the best hook the land ratio.I was fishing 15 to 20lb Fluor, big creature baits,10 to 12 inch worms and lizards,no problem hooking fish, and when they say,  lock.",these things lock in their mouth.! Makes a nice"pop" when you take the hook, and stayed sharp!  Definitely worth a try ...

Comments: I was looking for a hook that limits my fish loss while fishing tournaments.  After stumbling across the new Zoneloc hooks I was sold.  The online videos and Pro reviews made sense.  The design limits the barb from cutting open a bigger hole and "locks" the fish into the sweet spot of the hook away from the barb.  I have only had the opportunity to use these hooks twice but honestly was impressed.  I will be switching all my hooks over to the new Zoneloc hooks.  Very impressed.
