Comments: These things just flat work! Colors could be more uniform but not really complaining, casting weed flats or structure as well as throwing one out and trolling channels and drop offs to the next spot they get hits. A large Owner cps on a 4/0 ewg hook will serve you well, the flippers pull off kinda easy but they still continue to catch fish. Big Texan, Okeechobee craw, and junebug covers about any condition.

From: Unknwon - Central Maine 12/4/18

Comments: By far my favorite Texas Rig flipping bait! Only downside is the colors are not uniform throughout the pack. Overall great bait! They never leave my boat!

From: Kyle: Rush Springs, OK 7/19/18

Comments: My new favorite plastic. I fish them weightless on a 3/0 ewg hook on a casting setup. Great around vegetation. Can be swam or reeled quickly for a top water presentation, or trimmed down to use as a jig trailer.

From: Adam: Lincoln 5/12/18

Comments: These things are amazing!!! In Iowa these kill for bedding fish, the action makes the bass so mad. Also just burning in in front of the basses face the action is insane. I also love to throw this on 3/8 tungsten weight and a 4/0 EWG Hook in the river. Just kills the smallies

From: Unknown 5/10/18

Comments: Just a little trick, if you rig it weightless on an EWG hook and burn it across the top of the water the legs will kick up water everywhere. I catch smallmouth on the Wisconsin river doing that. It works so well that it's like they were made to be topwater lures!

From: Eli: Wausau, Wi 4/2/18

Comments: This has an amazing action. This is like the zoom z craw. Softer than the z craw. Quality product. Scent isn't overbearing like other Berkley products.

From: Washington 1/9/18

Comments: For those that use a T-Rig for the Pit Boss, give the Jika Rig a try. I make my own with a 2/0 Gamakatsu EWG, 2 small split rings and a tungsten drop shot weight. Swagger Tackle sells the tungsten drop shot weights with the circular rather than than pinched/wedge eye found on most drop shot weights. I buy he unpainted so I can add the colors myself...like ProTec green pumpkin powder paint. The jika rig with a Pit Boss is a deadly set-up...I have caught monster Smallmouth and Northern on this rig. I would call it a hybrid of the t-rig and a drop shot...very sensitive, doesn't snag often, and excellent action.

From: Mike: Chicago, IL 12/10/17

Comments: A very effective, versatile, and affordable bait. You can swim it, C-rig, T-rig, shakey head, or even buzz it across the surface. It may nit be my go-to, but I always have some on me, especially when fishing new water, due to the versatility. I typically use the 4", but have found the 3" to be especially effective on a small shakey head when fishing clear, shallow waters. Thus bait will be catching fish for some time to come and is a very affordable staple for any lover of soft plastics.

From: Ryan: Little Elm 11/14/17

Comments: Best punching soft plastic hands down, flip into heavy cover with one once toungsten and hold on they will pull your rod out your hands caught several two pounder messin around. But over all amazing lure and will be buying more!

From: Unkonwn 7/5/17

Comments: Bought multiple packs in various colors. Two packs in Big Texan, one 4in and one 3in...no two baits in either pack are even remotely similar in color, and only two baits in the 3in bag have the orange/ yellowish belly I was hoping for. Affordable baits that produce, but color consistency in Big Texan truly disappointing.

From: Jeff: Cali 5/14/17

Comments: I fish is a pond where huge fish lurk in very shallow water. My friend caught a 13 pounder in it. Skimming a pit boss across the surface is the only way I will ever fish there. When I am fishing lakes I like to t rig them with a 1/4 ounce bullet weight and skim it across the bottom. Will be buying more

From: Caleb: Salisbury, CT 4/15/17

Comments: There's just something about this bait that just flat out catches bass. I prefer to T-rig them and flip them under docks, largemouth just can't resist. Caught my PB on a Pitboss casting shallow. As soon as it hit the water she darted toward it and attacked, missed the hookset but she came right back for it a second time. Smallmouth bass also crush them, somewhat resembles a tube but with more action. Green Pumpkin & Big Texas are go-to colors on my local clear water. At a price that won't break the bank, pick up a couple packages. You won't be disappointed!!

From: Dane: Michigan 4/11/17

Comments: I put these on swim jig and I just plain t rig these they flat out catch fish but there is a lack of durability

From: Lucas - WI 3/30/17

Comments: Still one of the best lures out there on the market. I just got back from fishing a high pressured pond in front of my neighborhood right before a storm down here in Houston & threw all kinds of baits with no reaction. So I went back to a basic Texas rig of a 1/4 tungsten & 3/0 owner twist lock with an okeechobee craw colored pit boss because of how dirty the water was. About ten casts in a 4lber smashed it & about choked on it.

From: Chris: Spring, TX 6/3/16

Comments: I absoloutley love this bait! It is my first choice when i go pond hopping because it is easy to rig and the action on this thing is beast. When you have a sliding weight on the bait will stand upright and as it goes down deeper the legs will flutter and catch a fishes attention. I fully recommend this bait for the everyday angler.

From: James: Escondido, CA 5/4/16

Comments: I really love this bait its also my go to bait for when I get to the lake I have caught tons of fish on it, it is also very versatile I can do anything with it from flipping to swimming & I even have caught fish buzzing it on top it is an amazing bait I highly recommend it.

From: Dane: Dayton, OH 3/27/16

Comments: I can swear by these things. I catch fish all year with these in all conditions. DEADLY when bounced off of trees with a 1/8 tungsten weight. Bass attack these things, they basically set the hook themselves. BUY THEM! Who cares about durability, they catch fish undoubtedly and they're cheap.

From: Graydon: College Station, TX 2/20/16

From: Graydon: College Station, TX 2/20/16

Comments: I've been using the Pit Boss for years & recently landed my personal best 11lb 4oz largemouth on a 4" big texan. The profile is perfect for punching mats & they stand up and wave their arms at the fish when hopped along the bottom. There's also a nice little pocket for the hook point which keeps them weedless without hindering hook-sets. Amazing bait at an amazing price.

From: Galen: CA 12/30/15

Comments: I got on my freinds boat & he had a pack of the 4inch big Texans and I Texas rigged them with the 2/0  off set round bend ( you can go up to 4/0 ) & I use the whole pack and got 29 fish in the boat now I have 7 packs coming in\

From: Caden: Tyler, TX 10/19/15

Comments: These things are the bees knees. the fish kill these things, ive gone through a bag in a week (I fish a few times during the week) i usually flip and pitch them around cover and have caught my personal best doing that but also just cast out and swim them and it drives the fish nuts. def recommend these!!!

From: Franky: Phoenix, AZ 7/1/15

Comments: Love these things! At first i wasn't so sure, but when I fished these with a straight retrieve I caught 3 Bass over 3+ in about 7 minutes! Great baits.

From: Major: TX 6/3/15

Comments: I have used a lot of other soft plastics and I have never used a bait that I can cast on the first cast and catch fish . For the price you can't go wrong and all of the Havoc baits are awesome. But the only problems I seem to have are that they tear on the 3 or 4 fish but it is okay because a bait that cost cheep and works i'll keep on buying.

From: Austin: WI 5/18/15

Comments: The 3 inch version in Okeechobee color is the best lure to use when you are punching hyacinth mats in central Florida where I live. I've caught many 7-8 pound bass consistently on the pit boss. My friends personal best large mouth bass was also caught on this lure which weighed in at 13 pounds 12 ounces! This is the only soft plastic I flip with along with the Incredi Craw Slim which is another great lure to use.

From: Ryan: Inverness, FL 4/12/15

Comments: I was fishing late with about an hour of daylight and I had just bought a pack of these in Big Texan. I put it on a cheap black and orange jig and a few minutes before the sun went totally down I landed a largemouth that was so big my spinning reel would not reel anymore once it got out of the water. I had to hold the line with my hand and drag the bass onto land because my rod and reel could not handle this fatty. Berkley is great for softbaits and the Pit Boss is another quality Berkley softbait, especially as a trailer.

From: Tommy: Daytona Beach, FL 2/22/15

Comments: This is a great bait and has many applications. I have fished it on a Texas rig, back of flipping jigs, but I've found it best on the back of a swim jig. A green pumpkin Pit Boss and a bluegill swim jig will catch you bass all day long!

From: Nick: VA 1/12/15

Comments: Fantastic bait. Put a bullet wait on the front and flip it into heavy cover and structure.

From: Dan: NJ 12/23/14

Comments: The Pit Boss is an awesome all-conditions bait- the outer arms have a great fluttering action while the inner arms are always at rest. The resulting movement is very convincing and I can't count the number of times I thought a baitfish was approaching the boat only to realize it was my bait. Green Pumpkin on a 1/4 oz. texas rig and you can't go wrong. Best new bait I picked up in 2014.

From: Mark: MI 11/15/14

Comments: Best compact creature bait on the market. Especially lethal in grass and thick weeds and is a good punching bait. The action is great but subtle enough to appeal to both aggressive and sluggish bass. One of the first baits I reach for in a pitching/flipping situation.

From: Tyler: Grand Juntion, CO 9/23/14

Comments: Best craw I've ever used, have caught fish on them Texas rigged, jig trailered, and topwater. Bass crush these things and every now and then a catfish will get in on the action. only problem is durability I've had big bass suck these things clean off the hook of a Texas rig before. Overall its a great bait.Best colors for me are, Okeechobee craw, perfection blue fleck, and electric blue.

From: Zane: OK 8/31/14

Comments: Hands down best craw on the market, use these exclusively Texas rigging, and weightless rigging. Bass simply cannot handle these, the way the arms pulse through the water. Also very durable, I've caught 20 bass and only went through two, and when the top slices open cut them half an inch down and use as a jig trailer. Tie on a size 4 EWG and you will have a bass on guaranteed.

From: Brett: CT 6/9/14

Comments: These are absolutely amazing! i bought a pack of the black and blue in 4" and paired with a 3/0 EWG texas rigged with a 1/8 oz.  i caught more bass in a single day than i have in a long time. i only wish i had a 4/0 hook instead. Best texas rigged bait for me. I don't see a reason to buy another when the Pit boss has the action and the colors i need!

From: Kieran: Marietta, GA 5/28/14

Comments: Performs well and has a great selection of colors. I was missing a few hookups, so I tried bending the hooks out a bit with pliers, only to have the hook break. I'd intentionally bent other brands' frog hooks before and never had an issue with them breaking.

From: Mark: NC 5/27/14

Comments: There's something about this bait that fish just like. I've never had much luck with any other of Berkley's Havoc baits but this one is the exception. Occasionally an arm will get torn off and I find, when it does, it doesn't balance quite properly. In the case of this, I just rip off the arm on the opposite side. It seems to work just as well with two arms as it does with four. It's a solid bait that I would recommend to anyone.

From: Victor: St. Catharines, ON Canada 5/17/14

Comments: I have to tell you I am in love with this bait. The legs really do have a very good swimming action. Rigging the hook on this bait is super easy. This bait has so much variety it is unreal. You can jig it off the bottom, you could swim it like a swimbait, you could use it as a trailer, or you could use it as a punching bait. The waters in my area are so overfished it is almost unbelievable, so I have experimented and found out that you only have a couple of options when fishing overfished waters. The first option is to use a bait that the fish have never seen before, or you can use a bait that mimicks the baitfish really really well. I fished this bait in murky water and pulled out a 2 pounder right after somebody had just got done fishing that spot spot. Durable is very low on this bait though.

From: Tucker: San Antonio, TX 4/29/14

Comments: Bought these for the hell of it since they were a top seller. First cast today and yesterday, nailed some big fish on them and continued to throughout the day on a simple Texas rig, couldn't ask for a more powerful bait. Only problem I've had is the fish destroy it, after 2 or 3 the top comes unhooked just like any Texas rig would but, it just seems these break a lot easier than most baits. Definitely will buy again!

From: Larry: CA 4/28/14

Comments: Great creature bait. Has good action, but is not very durable i guess that's why their only $2.99. Every time i have thrown this bait i have gotten bit. A few weeks ago i had 5 fish for around 16lbs and had a 6 pounder break off at the boat. If you want to catch fish buy this bait.

From: J.C.: USA 4/28/14

Comments: Went through 3 packs in two days!! I've never caught more fish on a single lure. They cant get enough of it. I'll flip it then use a slow retrieve back to the boat. Get's em every time!

From: Cliff: Marksville, LA 4/4/14

Comments: Awesome lures!  I recently caught a solid 3.5 lb. bass at a local pond with the Watermelon Red Pit Boss! They provide a pretty large profile and larger fish just inhale them! Just ordered some more in a different color that I couldn't find at my local Academy!

From: Chase: TX 3/9/14

Comments: bought the 4" in green haze from my local dicks sporting goods Thursday, Saturday I had a seven 7 pound bass in my hands. Monday I went to the closes bass pro shops hour and half away to pick up some 5" Junebug, and today I caught a 7 1/2 pound bass and I have caught plenty of fish in between, needless to say these things are awesome I'm gonna pick me up some more!

From: Colby: jasper G.A.

Comments: I caught tons of fish on these using them top water like a buzz bait or a Stanley ribet frog   There also great for pitching and for punch rigs and jig trailers. Great bait. The claws tend to get ripped off if you get a lot of dinks to hit but all you have to do to prevent that is let them eat it and the claws stay back in there mouth   Bigger fish just inhale these.  Great bait. Really versital  I plan on getting more

From: Josh: WI

Comments: These Things are hands down the best flippin bait on the market. They have proven themselves time after time, and tournament after tournament. Most people also hook them wrong the Top View is the top of the bait i know the bottom pic looks like that should be the top but its not.

From: Swizzle: Holbrook Ma

Comments: These things are great.  They have more action than you'd think.  It takes very little speed to get them swimming. Not only are these really good for flippin and pitching they are really good for swimming and fishing them like a Biffle Bug on a Hardhead or Wobble Jighead. California is nice Green Punpkin/Red color that works well in most Texas/OK lakes. Junebug is my go to color for muddy water. Thumbs up on these. I buy them onsale for $1.99 a pack which can't be beat.  Buy some!

From: Basszilla: Lake Fork, TX

Comments: I was fishing this in Big Texan on a Texas rig flipping it up under bushes.  I caught one 2lb bass and hat another huge bite but my drag was not set and i snapped the line setting the hook.  I like how this bait looks.  The only cons I can think of are that bluegill like to "Jackhammer" it and rip off the arms.  Also it rolls over when you swim it.  Overall a good bait though.

From: Ethan: Charlottesville, VA

Comments: Bought 2 bags to test back in feb. By the end of may I had won 2 tournaments on the upper Chesapeake bay, and had about 30 bags. Black blue is good for me, and big texan with some chartreuse spike-it on the tail.. killer. Well worth the price and my go to flippin bait

From: Jake: dover, DE

Comments:  Swimming it, hopping it, crawling it, jigging it, it doesn't matter. This bait will catch fish. Even at a straight retrieve, the claws put off more action than any bait on the market. Also makes a killer bed fishing bait. Punch it, flip cover, it's just an awesome bait.

From: Caleb: Grandview, Texas, United States

Comments: They look good, the action is there, the colors are right. They have such a bad chemical smell though. Soaked 'em in BANG Pure Craw for half a day, then sprayed with F2(a little secret), and they still stunk.  R.I. Sweet Beavers outfished them today 18:1!

From: Bill: IN

Comments: good value. They are durable and the powerbait scent makes the fish hang on. However, about half the baits in each bag are deformed. They really need a better storage method. When you get them dip the flappers in boiling water until they are straightened out.

From: Cullen: Ashburn, VA

Comments: this bait is so awsome.i got it in green pumpkin and big texan and black blue. this bait is good for pitching around docks and laydowns. i caught my biggest fish on thi bait in black in blue. love this bait will be buying more.

From: Charlie: NC

Comments: Which side is considered the top? The side with just a couple ribs or the side with ribs all the way down? I know which side I believe is to be the top but when I look at some of the colors I feel like they should be the other way. Just wondering what yall think. With that said, I have rigged it both ways and this bait is money. lay lake grass, stumps, and rocks.... hang on.

From: Mike: Bama

Comments: Very smart design and I really like the Havok plastic. I would really like to see a shorter and slimmer version of this bait. The size and profile of the 4" version is perfect when the fish are on, but I very often have to switch to a 3.5" beaver when things slow down. I live in an area where the smallmouth prevail so I understand if not everybody agrees.
