Overview

The engineers at Berkley have worked hard to develop a superior fluorocarbon and the Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon is the result. Through extensive research and tests Berkley believes this fluorocarbon to be the best on the market.

Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon is extremely sensitive and the unique properties of this line make it limp providing smooth casting and easy handling. Trilene Fluorocarbon has low stretch making hooksets solid and putting you in direct contact with the fish. Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon is highly abrasion resistant which gives anglers the ability and confidence to fish in and around structure without concern.

Berkley Trilene Fluorocarbon comes in clear and green. Depending on the water color you fish there is a Trilene Fluorocarbon right for any situation. Berkley stands behind their products and the Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon is no exception. Berkley Pros believe in this line, try it and you will too.

Comments: My go to fluoro line for most applications. Let's get this out there first off, yes this line is thicker than some of the fluoro lines by other companies. However, it isn't made to be the thinnest, it's made to be the toughest. Where I need thinner line, ie finesse fishing on spinning reels and with crankbaits, I use Seguar Invizx. However, most of my fishing is done more like hand to hand combat than finesse fishing and this is where Trilene 100% fluoro really shines. Pitching into thick vegetation, around docks, or into wood or rock cover is not a problem for this line. It's just about indestructible. It has just the right amount of stiffness, doesn't coil up, and has good feel. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, if you use braid on your spinning set ups, this makes excellent leader line as well. No line excels at everything, that's why there's 100 different kinds of fluoro out there, but IMO this line is the best all around line on the market.

Comments: I really like this line. I use it as leader material (8 lb for finesse applications and 12 lb for jigs, Chatterbaits, cranks, Texas rigs, and jerkbaits). I have found that it ties well to braid with an FG knot and to all my lures and hooks with either a Double Pitzen or Palomar knot. I'm impressed with its abrasion resistance. I fish the shallow grassy waters of New England where you can find yourself getting harassed by pickerel on pretty much every outing, so that attribute is a big benefit for me. Furthermore, you can't beat that its still American-made.

Comments: I don't understand why Berkley makes such thick diameter fluorocarbon... Surely Pure Fishing can do better than what they're currently putting out... Their line is literally 2 sizes bigger than Seaguar, Sunline, and Yo-Zuri. I had to buy some 100% 20lb in a pinch for my pitching leaders because the tackle store was out of Seaguar, and the stuff was like a tow rope... a very stiff tow rope at that. Do better Berkley ~

From: Kyle: Vilas County Wisconsin 4/5/22

Comments: This line has a larger diameter than other brands so your crankbait will not dive as deep. Example: 12lb test for this line is .33mm. 12lb test for Seaguar Invizx is .28mm which means your crankbaits will dive deeper because the line is thinner. Also with these thicker lines you will probably not being able to cast as far and the line will feel stiffer than other brands. I tried using this line for flipping jigs but in my experience 17lb. test seemed to backlash more than other brands. For those reasons I just can't recommend this line.

Comments: I can't remember how many different fluoros I've been through trying to find one I'm happy with. Well this is it. Knot strength, abrasion resistance is fantastic and spool memory is not bad at all. I generally only spool up bait casters with flouro and use braid on pretty much every spinning reel with a fluoro leader. I use this for both applications. I've gone through so many flouros trying to find one that didn't have poor knot strength or poor tensile strength in general. Took a while to grab this line as I was less than impressed with Vanish. This is NOT Vanish. This line is superior in every way to other fluoros I've used and I will not use any others.

From: Dominic: Indiana 2/7/21

Comments: Bought my first fluro #8 for my 2500 size spinning outfit. The memory is awful, thus casting is terrible. Knot strength is... well it's FC, tie and check your knots. But I did catch my biggest fish of the 2020 season on it wacky wormin'...? Still wouldn't buy again.

From: Kevin: Washington 2/3/21

Comments: I was using Seaguar INVIZX and couldn't use a palomar knot without the line coming undone or the knot breaking. Since using this line I haven't seen any knot wear or line slippage. Improved feel and sensitivity and just a good all around line. I'm sure for more money you can get a better line but for this price I'm extremely satisfied!

Comments:I'm a fan. Been using 100% for years on everything that I don't need mono or braid for. I run anywhere from 8-10lbs on my jerkbait rod up to 20lb for jigs. I have never used heavier than 20lb and 17lb really is my go-to for "fast power" fishing. 20lb on a trap ripping heavy weeds or pulling a jig fish out of cover, does just fine! 15lb on a senko (casting) rod is the deal. This line has never failed me unless it was my own fault. Casts as far as the bait and reel will allow. Might not be the "smallest diameter" line but its on the smaller side compared to most lines that stand up to abuse equally as well.

From: Steven: Spokane, WA 8/25/20

Comments: Being honest - it's a good line .. only their are better floro lines out for the same price - smaller diameter

From: Dean: Las Vegas, NV 7/18/20

Comments:All my reels for jigging are spooled with this line. Mainly, 12 lb. I also use it as a leader(15 lb) on my superlines. Nasty pikes never break it.

From: Barney:Canada7/10/19

Comments:Picked up a spool of 17lb for Jig fishing. I really love this line, used it for a whole season. I've fishing this line flipping thick brush for largemouth, as well as dragging football jigs on rock for smallies. I've had no issues at all, low memory, very minimal stretch. When you get abrasion marks, retie as usual. Its a denser flouro so there is much less stretch. Amazing sensitivity, you can feel bottom very well using 17lb in 20 feet of water fishing a Jig. I will definitely be buying more.

Comments:Worst line I have ever used on a baitcasting reel Berkeley fix your line for 25$ terrible buy for a young angler

From:Unknown: 6/22/18

Comments:I have been using Trilene since I was a kid. When they first came out with fluorocarbon I decided to give it a try; I have never gone to any other brand. This stuff flat out works. I have 12lb on my shimano citica with a shimano exage 7'2" med. for light pitching and small cranks, Carolina rigs etc. I have 15lb on my shimano metanium also on a exage 7'2" med. heavy for finesse jigs, cranks, small glide baits and texas rigs up to 3/8 oz. The line is very durable on both setups and casts well and predictable. If you backlash it seems easy to get it out with this line, though I cannot compare to others. This line is stiff compared to mono of the same lb test which is to be expected. The price is well worth it. Give this line a try on your bait casting setup or use it as a leader to braid, you won't regret it.

From: Rich:IL5/12/18

Comments:This line is a hidden gem. Amazing knot strength (check out Tackletour's review), good consistency. I use long leaders of 10# and 12# test for medium spinning setups, and 15# or 20# for leaders on baitcasters. I'm not sure how well it does as a mainline but others seem to like it.I have personally tested the breaking strength of this line with a San Diego Jam knot and on each lb test variant I got up to the rated strength without breaking it. I didn't go any further so as to not hurt myself when the line broke :)

Comments:Great overall head to pair with your favorite swimbait.

From: Unknown - 5/6/18

Comments:I have used this line with great success. It casts great, and also has great knot strength. I have literally got my bait stuck in rocks and caught some broken off line that was caught on rocks several times back to back, and didn't even bother to retie in between ad my knot held up well and had no issues with abrasion resistance. For what it's worth, I use the uni knot with fluorocarbon, it seems to be the best.

The line itself appears quite invisible as well, and I think it's a great value line as well. The only negative of this line is that it is a little thicker when compared to some other lines of the same size, but generally that can be adjusted for by dropping down a line size as needed.

From: Unknown - North Adams, MA 5/6/18

Comments:Had mixed feelings about going back to this line after having issues with it in the past. Picked up a spool of 10 pound to throw weightless Senkos & I've caught 20+ bass, weights from 1-5 pounds without re-tying. No frays, absolutely zero stretch, manageability is what you'd except from a stiff line on a spinning reel. I can't see myself going back to Sunline after this. Any Berkley line has been my go to for the past 6 years. Cheap & strong, it competes well with the top brands out there.

From: Trevor: Enid, OK 6/19/16

Comments:trilene is by far the best value in fishing line it may not be the very best line out there but for the money it is the highest quality line at this price point and I am switching all of my reels to trilene wether it floro braid or mono
