Comments: I have owned 3 of these and all 3 have broke on hooksets! Not on 5lbers but on dinks!! They always replace them but by now I have spent almost as much money as the rod initially cost. I have fished all my life and have owned dozens of different brand rods and have NEVER broken a rod unless it was my fault. Absolutely will never own another Okuma product again.

Comments: got this rod 2 years ago with an "okay" reel and it was the best combo I had the rod is outstanding I've done everything from frog fishing for bass and pike with it to droppin small jogs on beds and this rod in the 7' heavy handles it without a problem. I just upgraded the real to fit the performance of the rod so hopefully this years good to me

Comments: The Helios is sick,well worth every cent,ultra sensitive,super light and can fish it all day. I only throw jigs on mine you can really lay into this rod. Caught hundreds of bass on mine. Big smallmouth and largemouth.The only problem I had is the hook keeper fell off called Okuma they sent me 4 new ones without question.

Comments: I own the 7' medium. This is the lightest rod that I own. I read the negative reviews and the positive reviews before purchasing. But went ahead a purchased because of weight. I put an MGX on this rod and this has got to be one of the lightest possible combinations you can buy. I was not to sure how well this rod will hold up until this weekend. I hooked on a 12lb gaspergo or fresh water drum and boy did this fish fight. It pulled drag and just kept on running until it eventually made a run for under the pier I was fishing on. I was able to turn it out of the pilings under the pier with this rod. Pretty good for a medium action.

Comments: I have the combo Helios rod and reel. It works really good and had no problem with it. I hooked a 8lb bass while on a levee 8ft to the water and my rod did not break. I like the lightness and the rings are micro so doesn't get in the way of other rods. Its not the best rod but I would give this combo set a 8/10.

Comments: I also broke my rod before I really got to use it very much. I was pulling on a snag, and not very hard. I know not to put too much of a bow in it, and I felt I was not, but POP! it shattered into 3 pieces! The only other rod I have broken was a $30 Berkley AMP. It is too bad, the rod felt nice.

Comments: I would like to relinquish my earlier review of this rod. I caught approx 150 fish on my first Helios before it broke. Probably caught 15 fish over five lbs on it, no problem. Then it snapped in two while trying to pop a crankbait free. Returned it, no problems as they replaced it for free. I had to eat the shipping of course (which is considerable) Snapped my second this past weekedn right down the middle like the last one, while making a cast with a 1/2 ounce crankbait. Unnacceptable. I really was impressed with Okuma's customer service, but I will not be paying another $40 bucks to return it again. Too bad, as I really liked the rod.

Comments: Brad the Falcon Cara is a good rod but by no means is it the top end rod. I have owned a couple caras and they were impressive but powell rod co is the best rod brand that i have put in my hands. Try one if you get the chance since they are very comparable in price to the Helios

Comments: EXCELLENT ROD!! I purchased the 7ft Medium, and have been very impressed. It is much lighter than my Ducketts rods, and is more sensitive. The 7ft Med, is the perfect squarebill rod, very forgiving, but is super light and accurate. I would say this rod is as good or better than a Cara T7, and as everyone knows Cara's are very top-end rods. Next one I am going to get will be the 7'6" XH.
