Trophy bass anglers in the ëknow' have been expecting the arrival of Jerry Rago's Tool Swimbait for quite some time, and when the Tool was unleashed on the fishing world it exceeded everyone's expectations. The Jerry Rago Trout Tool is the culmination of years of lure making experience and incorporates all of Jerry's tricks; realistic paint jobs, realistic fins, and the ability to mimic swimming trout, even at slow speeds. The double joint configuration allows the Tool to swim with a sinuous, natural motion without a bill or lip, one of Jerry's trademark features, and the open mouth adds to the realism while increasing water turbulence. This bait is so trick that the fins are on spring hinges so they won't get broken off and they will bend out of the way when a big bass grabs the lure. The Tool floats and can be used as a deadstick bait or retrieved slowly like a wake bait. Pull it underwater and it will stay down just below the surface making a slight turbulence on top, a real attractant for big, hungry bass. Jerry tells us the size of the bait will challenge bass and attract their attention, and many strikes will come because the Tool intimidates the dominant predator. Sometimes just the shadow of the Tool passing over bass is enough to get them stirred up. When the fish get close to the Tool its anatomically correct colors and proportions give fish the confidence to smash it. Originally, Jerry was only going to share this bait with select pro staff and catch trophy bass himself, but he decided that the elite big bass fishermen that have been supporting him over the years deserved the best bait he has ever produced.
