Comments: $100 setup: 7'1" M 13 Defy + Okuma Avenger. Spooled with12 lbs braid, and 6lbs gold line leader and absolutely slaying the largemouth on a drop shot. 6 lbs gold line is key.

Comments: Great All Around Bass Rod- Affordable performs fantastic. The rod body has a nice unique feel instead of being smooth there is a texture that grips a bit. During Bass action you're not left with rod slipping out of your hand cause it's wet. Handles and Casts with no problem. Guides are smooth and handle is very comfortable. Have 30lb Braid to 12lb Flouro Leader. Use FG knot w/ dab of gorilla glue on knot it slides better through eyes. I would recommend for others to buy and try. Thanks Tackle Warehouse

Comments: BUY THIS ROD!! I got the 7' 1" medium light a couple of years ago and it is by far the best rod that I would have. This rod has caught my PB Largemouth at 5lbs (I live in MI), my PB Smallie in the 3's, my first Coho, no scale and won't attempt a weight, a 9lb carp, as well as hundreds of other bass. It can handle big fish if you play them well, and throw light lures. It is stiff, has an actual fast action, and is incredibly sensitive. 10/10, would buy again. Other than the hook keeper placement, this rod is amazing.

Comments: been a Berkley rod guy since the HOT ROD came out. this being the 2nd 13 FISHING rod that I own, I will never buy anything but 13 FISHING RODS. That said the packaging tacklewarehouse used to ship my rod was impressive enough for me to say I will never buy a rod online from anyone other than TACKLEWAREHOUSE!!!

Comments: Love these rods, they're all I use for casting and spinning. Sensitive and fast action.

Comments: The 13 Defy Black spinning rods are my go to rods. I now own 3 rods and they are perfect for my style of fishing. I'm an old guy with joint problems and I can still stay in the game fishing light tackle. Defy rods are perfect for me. I fish 1/8th oz lead head jigs ( that I make) with a finesse worm 890% of the time. Great rods for the price. I plan on ordering a crank bait rod next.

Comments: Hands down best spinning rod ever. period. Literally the most sensitive rod I've ever felt from all the rods I've used. For only $60 it's the perfect spinning rod from top to bottom everything is top notch. Highly recommend this rod.

Comments: Light, powerful. Really like the defy rods

Comments: best purchase I have made. for ML it has a very good backbone and still sensitive. I have caught plenty of big bass on it.

Comments: I own several 13 Fishing rods, in both spinning and casting. The Defy Series, for the price, is unbeatable. Whatever taper/strength you're looking for, this rods does what you need. ***ONE ISSUE*** is that perhaps the glue/epoxy on the guides. One of my spinning setups became useless after the first guide fell off. But, all in all, these rods have treated me well. I abuse the hell outta my gear(creek wading, ponds hopping, long hikes to good stretches on the river, skinny water kayaking), so any rod that can stand up to a day on the river is a good rod in my book.

Comments: Second one of the 7'1light models I've purchased, I've used the first one for tossing Spybaits, large Flatfish, jerkbaits for larger trout in waters in which ultralight offers no control of the fish, and as I usually catch and release, playing the fish til exhaustion leads to dead trout! 6 lb mono, in streams with lots of log jams, I can still keep the fish out of snags! I liked it enough to buy a 2nd one, I plan on using it for Trout and Umpqua River smallmouth! The rod has great action, lots of backbone, tosses lures a country mile

Comments: I have two 7'1 medium lights and they are hands down my favorite dropshot/Ned rods. Sensitive tip with plenty of backbone for hooksets.
From: Jesse: West Virginia 4/12/22
Comments: Pretty light rod to start off with I have a bait caster that weighs 6.9 paired with a 6'7 medium for jerk baits super light combo, also bought a 7'1 medium heavy all around rod both feel very sturdy would buy again.

Comments: Good budget rod, light, sensitive, good grip, 1st eye away from reel is too small braid wants to wrap it often.

Comments: For writing a review on Tackle Warehouse I feel like I need to provide a little more context to my review: I don't consider myself an advanced angler, or maybe even intermediate. I'm sure this rod is probably considered an entry-level model but it's the nicest rod I've owned thus far so keep that in mind. I bought this rod to serve as my "go-to" for as many different scenarios as possible, and so far it's been great. I think the length (7'1") is optimal for my purposes and I enjoy the medium power/fast action. I haven't owned it quite long enough/put it through the gauntlet to be able speak on durability. The only things I would change about this rod are: 1. Micro guides - I've been using braid-to-fluoro (with double uni knot) with this rod and I think the micro guides on the top half of this rod may be impeding my casts just the slightest amount. I don't have anything to back that up; just a suspicion. 2. The handle - This is just a personal preference of mine as I like a single-piece grip instead of the split grip. Doesn't change the way I fish, just an ergonomics preference.

Comments: Great budget rod, love the casting version of the defy series of rods. So I tried out the spinning version. I love this rod, great action (7' 1", medium), paired it with an Okuma avenger 2500 spinning reel. I use it for trout fishing, drop shot, Ned's, fineness worms. All around the best bang for you buck rod! Highly recommended to fellow anglers.

Comments: Excellent spinning rod all around! You can't get a better value with these components at this price point! Always have been happy with 13 Fishing!

Comments: Use this rod for ned, wacky, and trout jigs. Really cant beat this rod for the price. Feels better than a $60 rod should in my opinion. Also have the defy casting rod. Really light tip but has enough backbone for bigger fish. Highly recommended.

Comments: Rod feels great, has great action and power. Only complaint is that the first large eye next to the real is too small and braided line gets tangled around it quite often.

Comments: Good rod for the cost. Bought this for my wife for our smallmouth trips. Good feel and really like the foam grip material. Fished 3/16 and 1/4 - 3.5" tubes.

Comments: I've caught piles of Bass on this rod some were over the 7 pound mark for the money this rod is well worth it very satisfied.

Comments: Tried this for the first time last weekend. Unbelievable rod. The action let's you pinpoint your cast. One I caught the rig just hit the water. I knew it right off. Great rod.

Comments: I would definitely buy another 13 Fishing rod. This rod is light, cast far with ease, and is really accurate. I dig it, matter a fact I already bought two more. Finesse fishing is covered!

Comments: I absolutely LOVE these rods! I only fish Midwest Finesse (Ned Rig) and the 6'7 ML is the ultimate Ned Rig rod. I just received my second one; these are the only rods I use. My favorite thing about this rod is that the handle is mostly forward of the reel; which is perfect as I keep three fingers in front and one finger behind the reel on my rods. To find a rod with this feature at this price point is almost non-existent. Also the color is awesome paired up with my reels. The rod is light but very powerful with its Fast action. I tried the 7'1 ML; that rod was way too tip heavy IMO; but the 6'7 is PERFECT (paired with a Lew's size 200 reel)! I can't say enough good about these rods; the quality far exceeds its price. I'm not a fan of 13 reels; but these rods are awesome!
