Comments: Not a bad reel for $80. I switched out the cheap, rubbery drag washers for carbontex and had to remove one shim from the float cap because the spool was slightly off center and stacking line on that side. I only use 2 pins and have yet to backlash it, but I use it for catfishing, so I typically have a fair amount of weight tied on. A $7 ceramic pawl would be a worthwhile upgrade, but even without that it's a great caster.

Comments: The previous reviewer stated that other Abu reels have magnetic brakes. The only other round Abu that has magnetic brakes is the Morrum which is in an entirely different class. This reel has centrifugal brakes just like nearly every other round Abu and the Revo S. This is a great reel for the money. Set the brakes correctly and it will perform the way you want it to.

Comments: The reel itself is very smooth. The problem with it is it does not have a adjustable magnetic setting. The better made abu garcias have an adjustable magnetic type setting so you can really fine tune that feed out and stop some of the backlashes when you make a bad cast. I do not understand why abu garcia does not put that kind of set up in ALL there better bait casters as the ambassadeurs. That is my only complaint about abu garcia, i will still always use one no matter what because of the quality and how smooth they operate
