TW Staff Picks for Fall Bass Fishing
The Bass Assassin Straight Tail Shads measure in at 5-7iches in length, and offer a natural baitfish profile. Their long straight tail helps them dart and glide through the water with the slightest twitch of the rod, and when at rest, quivers enticingly like a real bait fish. Also equipped with a convenient belly hook slot for easy rigging, the Bass Assassin Straight Tail Shads catch fish from coast to coast.

Comments: LOVE THESE. If I could only have one jerkbait, this would be it. Awesome action and they hold up really well. Plus they have awesome colors. I especially love Opening Night, Albino, Bone Diamond, and Smokin Shad. I throw these weightless some but I've personally had my best success on a 1/8oz 4/0 VMC drop dead hook. I use these alongside super flukes as they walk a bit differently. I find the Bass Assassin has a tighter, wider walk. That is, I can get a good deal more side to side action out of these than a fluke wants o givte. They feel heavier and easier casting when weightless. I also think these keep their shape better, and haven't ever had to boil a pot of water to straighten out the tails.

Comments: Best soft jerk bait I've ever used.. my absolute go-to bait when the fish won't bite anything else... The red shad color and the chartreuse are my go-to colors..

Comments: Very good fluke type bait. Dense body material provides good casting distance, even with baitcast equipment. Deep hook pocket assists in reliable hook-ups. The Bass Assassin Straight Tail Shad is a great supplement to the Zoom Salty Super Fluke. Be sure to try the red shad pattern.

Comments: One of my favorite fluke style soft jerks. Soft profile and has a little better darting and more supple action than a zoom super fluke. Not to say that Super Flukes aren't awesome, but you gotta have these too.

Comments: pretty decent jerkbaits, worked well texas rigged in small retention ponds. Only problem is it doesn't work very well weighted.

Comments: By far my favorite soft plastic jerk bait. It can be "glide waked" on the surface unlike any other. Caught my all of my personal best with these!

Comments: This jerkbait is often overlooked and it can be really killer. It is super soft and sinks very slowly when it's unweighted. I like fishing them when the water's cold or the fish are lazy. I like using white and the red shad (which isn't available from TW unfortunately) on 5/0 EWG hook and just twitching it back really really slow.

Comments: These are great jerkbaits. Catch any predator fish from bass to redfish. Wish tacklewarehouse carried more of the colors especially the new ones with chartreuse tails like chicken on a chain and slammin chicken.
