Comments: Realistically this is a killer weedless Pop-R lure. That said it is going to require some custom diy mods to hook up bigguns. Change the hook out and it is solid.

Comments: Pros: Of all the soft/hollow body "popping" lures I've tried, this one is easily the best popper. It actually pops. After catching a few bass on it, including a 3.5 pounder in a big laydown, it's no worse for wear. Cons: The hook doesn't slide easily through this body material, so I'm fishing it with the point up off the back about 1/8 inch to help (no misses so far). You do have to bend the hook to fit, because it does point down into the back if you don't (yes, you can bend a hook people). Overall: It's a rubber Pop-R with frog legs and a single Texas-rig hook. After 2 dry trips I tied the legs into a single tail and trimmed it at an angle...bingo! I would love to have a few more to play with, but not at $9 each.

Comments: Worst lure I've ever purchased. 100% useless. The hook goes back into the lure and it's impossible to set the hook on a fish. Also the tails came out after just a few strikes.

Comments: Bought two but they melted into goo where they were pressed against the side of my frog box. No other frogs were injured in this incident but both pop frogs are now junk. Guess they couldn't take the Texas heat. Never got to use them so I have no idea if they work or not.

Comment: This is the best frog Berkley has ever made. It floats, it dives if you twitch it hard, it walks, it pops... It is totally weedless and comes with a 5/0 EWG superline hook in the package. The hole for the hook eye is pre-tapped in the head and and has grooves on top and bottom for hook insertion and exit upon the strike. You can fish this thing anywhere and it draws vicious strikes.
Update: This is my second review after using these frogs for a year. So many people buy these frogs and then hate them. Then, they post negative comments about them. This is an excellent frog if you rig it as intended. First, be careful removing it from the package. The skirt-legs are taped-in. Remove the tape, then remove the lure from the packaging. Don't use the 5/0 hook on the larger frog. Use a 7/0 Fusion 19 EWG hook. Use the tip of the hook to punch a hole at the back of the bottom slot clean through the back of the top slot. Don't make the hole too far forward or you will destroy the rattle chamber. Turn the hook and push the eye through the pre-tapped hole that is already made for you in the front edge of the bottom slot and the eye will pop right out of the bottom of the cupped mouth. Tie some 50 lb or 65 lb Berkley X5 braid to the eye. Then, take the tip of that 7/0 hook and press it down until it is barely touching the front of the top slot. This thing is totally weedless. You can cast it anywhere. Wait a second when a Bass strikes it. Let him take it under, then set the hook. I have tried several colors and the best by far is the Black Ghost. It has a gold flake in the black body. I cut all the chartreuse strands out of the black skirt-legs because that doesn't look natural. Shorten the legs by trimming each by about an inch. Fish this thing on a 7:1 to 8:1 reel mounted on a 7'0" to 7'4" heavy action rod. A "twitch-twitch-pause-twitch" retrieve will get their attention. If they don't hit it that way, twitch it a few times and then slowly retrieve it. On a slow retrieve, a big, gurgling water bubble forms at the mouth and it has a hunting, moving action, like a fleeing frog. GIVE THIS FROG A CHANCE. You can catch fish on it in any cover from wood to thick vegetation to duck moss.

Comments: Concept is great but the reality/experience was not. The hook placement is very difficult to get weedless and still have the pop frog run straight and actually hook the fish. I fish a spotted bass fishery and have had success with other topwater baits such as spook and other frog imitation Pop frog is not a unique bait in what it represents, there are many poopers of similar design. I purchased because of the weight and perceived castability but the difficulty in rigging makes this pop frog just another failed attempt to produce something unique. I was tempted to return this failed lure pop frog but I just removed it from my boat.

Comments: Change the small hook that it comes with. I use either a 6/0 or 7/0 ewg. Cut a small vertical slit in the tale area and the bend of the book sits well there. Then I tex pose the point in the too slit or just next to it. Never miss them now.

Comments: I see the idea they were going after for the weedless pop'R , but the small single worm hook just isn't the move for hook up ratio... Yes you can put it in places you can't put a traditional pop'R, but being able to stick that fish with that small hook going through all that Plastic is a whole different problem in itself. Liked the idea. I bought a few to try. Now they're just another bait I won't use unless they do something different with the hook..

Comments: Don't waste your money! I just bought 3 of them, and they are terrible to put the hook into the lure. 2 of them split right up at the front of the Frog where the hook tie end comes out! They should have molded the hook into the bait. I like the concept but way too hard to insert the hook into the lure!

Comments: Extremely difficult to rig the hook, and there were no instructions?? After finally figuring out the hook issue, the bait works well and performs well in grass.

Comments: Eh less. Then impressed the skirt flew off for no reason it was my like 5th cast the hook is kind of hard to set up if your not used to doing it I like the colors and i could tell it was durable it chugged just didn't do anything for me sticking with googan boyah and terminator.

Comments: Great pop action, works better than PopR's. Really like the amount of commotion it makes. Very weedless. Cant speak to hook up ratios, haven't got one on it yet, time will tell.

Comments:Went to pull it out of the package and the skirt that was taped down ripped out. Tore it from the lure. Not repairable. The other three I bought were fine. Just make sure you peel the tape off the back before you try to pull it out.

Comments: Gave this one to my son because it's a bit smaller popper than I like to throw. It does look good and the white should get some action. Nice hooks

Comments:Been buying these Power Pop Frogs for years from an Australian tackle shop. Weren't available in North American market until recently. Very versatile baits. Not as durable as I would like but sufficient.
