Overview
Designed and tested by Bass Pro Tour angler and shallow water expert, Mark Daniels Jr., the Bill Lewis SB-57 Squarebill delivers top shelf performance at a price that can’t be beaten. Built with super thin walls that feature a unique honeycomb construction, the Bill Lewis SB-57 Squarebill produces a fast wobbling action that hunts through shallow water and aggravates fish to bite. It also features a hybrid coffin circuit board lip that increases sensitivity and causes erratic deflections off cover to trigger intense reaction strikes.
Another key feature of the Bill Lewis SB-57 Squarebill is its internal rattle system that produces a subtle one-knocking noise that is not too loud and not too soft to call fish in dirty water and low light conditions. It is also perfectly weighted for a slower assent so that it stays in the strike zone longer when paused, giving fish more time to bite. Outfitted with premium hardware right out of the package as well, it is armed with two razor-sharp Mustad Triple Grip hooks for a superior hook-up ratio and so that anglers don’t have to waste time and money upgrading hooks. Offered in a selection of custom hand painted colors, the Bill Lewis SB-57 Squarebill is a must-have for every shallow water specialist.

Comments: Never seen a stock split ring and hook combo that fit a lure this good. Hooks literally barley kiss each other, impossible to snag them together and they are big. Action is great, knock is very very subtle and nice tone. Comes through nasty thick NJ laydowns like nothing where other cranks will and have gotten snagged. Only complaint PLEASE FIX!!!! This thing casts far for 3/8 but somersaults the entire way, surprisingly doesn't catch the line and tangle more. I think they can get way more distance by having the tail weighted properly. Still a 5 star squarebill crank based on action, sound, and the way it comes through cover. Need to make. 1/2 version, silent version and a classic bill lewis rattle trap style rattle would be killer. And make her fly straight without tumbling!

Comments: The SB-57 has a fairly tight wobble to it compared to other crankbaits. The hooks are sharp straight outside the packaging. I really enjoy the subtle low pitch rattle that it provides and it has caught me a lot of smallmouth in the north. Ozark Craw is a must have color. It deflects off of rocks well and the lip is sturdier than it appears. Definitely a favorite of mine in my tacklebox.

Comments: This is my go-to square bill crankbait! This crankbait does exactly what it's supposed to do, and that is deflect off of cover. It has a subtle rattle chamber which I prefer in a squarebill, but has a pretty aggressive hunting action that creates reaction strikes. Like all Bill Lewis Lures, there is a solid selection of colors to choose from so no matter what bait the bass might be chasing or the water clarity you're fishing, Bill Lewis has you covered.

Comments: This is a sneaky little bugger. It does exactly what a square bill is supposed to do, deflect. It's rattles are very subtle. Who puts Mustad Triple grips on their offerings stock? When the bite is tough this guy catches them.

Comments: Bill Lewis has definitely stepped up their game with regards to lipped crankbaits. It started with Echos 1.75 and has progressed to the SB-57 lineup. Fantastic shallow crankbait with actions and finishes that are of much higher quality than many of their more expensive competitors. The 57's hunt and deflect off the many nasty offerings in my local river. My "catches" include a screen door, bag phone and tricycle. Really can't say enough good things about these underrated gems.

Comments: These crankbaits are the real deal. I had bought a couple to fish on Kentucky lake. The Bass love them. As soon as I finish this review, I will be ordering more. Try them for yourself, and you also will purchase some.

Comments: I have several of these crankbaits. They are legit. They cast well and run true. They deflect well and will come through some gnarly stuff. The bass love them, too. Several have tried to completely swallow the crankbait. It's an awesome lure. Well worth the investment.
