Designed to be the loudest compact buzzbait ever created, the Black's Custom Lures Toad Toater Buzzbait offers a brass bearing on the frame to create the loudest clacking sound when it comes into contact with the blade. Made with no tuning required, the Toad Toater is ready to fish right out of the package but also offers a screw-lock keeper if a soft-plastic trailer is desired. 

Built with a wide gap ensuring the bass gets the hook without being impeded by the blade, the Toad Toater Buzzbait utilizes a razor-sharp 3/0 hook to provide excellent penetration that increases your hookup ratio. Helping anglers cover water and generate explosive topwater bites, the Black's Custom Lures Toad Toater Buzzbait delivers a compact design for proper performance at the top of the water column.

Dynamite comes in a small package!It'll catch fish right outta the package. Really well built! Sticky sharp hook and a hefty wire diameter designed to take a BIG Bass Beat-Down! But, if you want to get the most outta this little diamond, it'll take a bit of pre-fishing, "adjusting"- & you'll know when you get it right! Tune the 1/8 oz. Toad Toater, so the blade lightly "ticks" the brass clicker on the retrieve. Also crimp the rivets- all of them, but the ones fore and aft of the brass "ticker" (or clicker). Be sure and check it after each fish or 2 to make sure the blade is still "locked-on" to the "sweet spot" and barely ticking the brass clicker-(although on windy days, you might want the blade to tap the brass clicker a bit harder for a touch more sound). The 1/8 oz. Toad Toater comes with a skirt, which I like to trim super short, and thin out some of the strands. I pair it with the Mid-size Rage Bug for a trailer, throw it on #30-#40 Varivas braid. Lighter lb. tests work best if you want more distance, and I'll use heavier- if shorter cast lengths are all that's needed to reach targets. In heavy cover situations, the bigger size braid is best- and helps with making more accurate casts as a bonus. All of Black's buzzbaits are maniacal fish-catching machines! I fish them all, and 1 or 2 might work better on certain days, conditions dictating which one(s) I'll choose. This new 1/8 oz. Toad Toater seems to be the "Happy Medium" of the "whole lot of 'em"! Perfect size and sound to bust loose on a limit just about any given day- even in surprisingly colder water temps! I've caught fish on it in water temps in the low 50's. It's a mean 'lil rascal of a buzzbait! The blow-ups you'll get on this little thing are plum vicious! A bass goes all-in when they smash it. I don't use a trailer hook myself, but it's your choice.
