Having a background as a fishing guide, master fly tier, and smallmouth aficionado provided a lifetime of experiences that warranted Brian Schmidt’s efforts to manufacture a state-of-the-art Ned head. A desire to have a smaller, light, subtler skirted jig is what fueled the creation of the Brian Schmidt Baits Ned Jig.
This Ned Jig features a hand-tied silicone skirt that is affixed directly to the shank of the hook, which adds a natural movement and flow to your finesse presentation. The mushroom shaped head is powder coated with Boss Jig Armor for a durable chip-resistant finish, and its shape allows your jig to navigate through many types of structure with outstanding efficiency.
Constructed with a chemically sharpened 1/0 Daiichi Black Nickel Hook, a wire bait keeper is also incorporated, lies parallel with the bottom of the hook shank, and keeps your soft plastics affixed firmly to the jig head.
