Overview
Using the latest technology to build the most lifelike craw ever created, the Chasebaits Mudbug redefines the term “match the hatch.” Made from super tough 10x TPE material, the Chasebaits Mudbug features an anatomically correct body shape and appendages, which provides a highly realistic profile and subtle movements that exactly replicate those of a real live crawfish. The claws will also float while at rest to mimic a crawfish in a natural defensive position, which infuriates bass into biting. The Chasebaits Mudbug comes pre-rigged with a special harness that features an “egg sack” to conceal the lead weight to create an even more realistic profile as well.
The Chasebaits Mudbug can be fished in a number of different ways, let it sit on the bottom in a defensive position and let the lifelike details do the work or slow crawl it on your favorite structure and its thumping tail will imitate a swimming crawfish, either way it is too irresistible for bass to refuse. Offered in multiple sizes and colors, the Chasebaits Mudbug is ready to fish right out of the package.

Comments: Just caught my biggest bass of the year on this around 5-6 pounds! In Indiana, took the other one to Lake of the Woods in Canada and lost it pretty quickly in the rocks, that being said it would be awesome if you were fishing humps without too much rock! The largemouth pretty much tore it up! But if I can catch 1 large fish, to me it's worth it! Plan on buying more for early spring or late fall.

Comments: Bought the 2.75" and the action is extremely lifelike, if you jerk it and twitch the bait and then let it fall it looks like a craw swimming and then free falling, the tail folds when you do this, the bait is very durable, possibly one of the best anatomically correct craw baits out there, I think this bait requires some skill and knowledge of how to fish it just like any lure and if you lack that then you may think it sucks but typically it is the fisherman that "sucks". DO NOT STORE THIS WITH OTHER SOFT PLASTICS IT IS NOT YOUR REGULAR PLASTISOL, THE PLASTIC WILL HAVE A CHEMICAL REACTION WITH REGULAR PLASTISOL BAITS.

Comments: The reviews about the weed guard breaking and the tail getting wrapped up in line are accurate. Hook lost it's point quickly and required constant sharpening. It does get bit but without the weed guard it is next to impossible to fish in cover. With some changes this could be an excellent bait

Comments: Bait is not very durable and does not have a lot of movement. Way over priced bait used twice and claws already came off and hasn't even had a fish touch it.

Comments: This is a great bait. I tried it in the crystal clear water of Grand Traverse and caught over 1 dozen SMB. The lure held up great. My buddy was throwing everything in his box and caught 1... He became a believer!! They are expensive so do not throw around brush piles where they will hang up...

Comments: This bait is cool but its cheaply made fell apart after one fish waste of money and time.

Comments: SAVE YOUR MONEY! These baits are designed to catch fishermen, not fish. Was very anxious to get my hands on them, so I purchased a 2.75 and 3.75 in grape. The 2.75 is too small and has no action. The jointed tail even rides up over the hook eye. The 3.75 will not sit upright or even lie flat. It rolls on its side. The jointed tail stays cocked under the bait and only adds to the problem.

Comments: Not friendly with other plastics. Found out the hard way. Prior to that, it looked good in the water. No takers though.

Comments: There is a review here that talks about leaving it in his car "With his other rubber stuff" It says right on the add, DO NOT MIX WITH OTHER RUBBER BAITS! IT WILL MELT!! Read the packaging next time!

Comments: This is a super realistic crawfish lure with decent action. However, it isn't durable at all. After catching a one pound bass, the light wire weed guard got destroyed. Both ends of the wire are molded into the egg sack weight. One side broke completely off, and the wire became distorted and twisted. Improve on the weed guard Chasebaits, and you will have a winner.

Comments: Do not buy this Lures unless you don't care to waste what you paid for. Not Durable at all! I purchased 2 and kept them in the car for a couple of days together with the rest of my plastic lures and the rubber basically melted and the legs and claws are stuck together and crooked beyond fix. The thing is the rest of my plastic lures are in perfect shape ready to be used. The Chasebaits are stuck melted together, they're ruined and it wasn't even hot inside the Car.

Comments: I just threw it a bit but got frustrated by the tail getting twisted around the line tie. It looks great when sitting still but when you try to hop or swim it it doesn't get far before it fowls.

Comments: Tail was torn when I took it out of the package. Ain't this material suppose to be durable like Z-man stuff? Not impressed. I'll stick to a regular ole jig.

Comments: 10 casts in the plastic was starting to tear around the line tie. Nice idea, bad execution.

Comments: I bought one of these about a month ago, and today was the first time I've gotten it out. It was falling apart and the weed guard came off. I havent even fished with it yet and the thing was a mess. The rest of my soft-plastics were fine so Im not sure why this bait was coming apart. Its still functional at this point; but I can only imagine what one fish is going to do to this thing. Maybe this is just a fluke batch?

Comments: I purchased 2 of these during the Black Friday sale and had my first opportunity to try them this week! The bite has been real slow but 2 of the three bass I caught were on this craw. Now we will see how durable they are as they are not cheap!
