Overview

Almost two years in the making the Eye Surrender Tactical Bassin Sunglasses were designed in collaboration with Tim Little and Matt Allen of Tactical Bassin. Building upon the highly successful Eye Surrender ESE Sunglasses, the Tactical Bassin version includes breakaway arm pieces, 2mm lens thickness upgraded from 1.1mm, and enhanced lens coatings. Experience the clarity of Eye Surrender’s TAC and polycarbonate anti-glare lens with improved water and oil resistance, as hydrophobic and oleophobic coatings are incorporated to reduce smudges from water and fingerprints.

Featuring a scratch-resistant polarized lens and boasting a 400% UV rating, your eyes stay protected from the sun's harmful rays and underwater structures appear with heightened visibility. Constructed with lightweight TR-90 frames these sunglasses are suited for all-day use and are comfortable and stylish enough for both on and off the water activities.  The lenses meet ANSI Z87.1 industrial standards for high-velocity impact protection to provide added safety and durability on the water. The Eye Surrender Tactical Bassin Sunglasses deliver UV protection, viewing clarity, and durability at an excellent value that rival far more expensive technical eyewear brands.

Lens Colors:

Green Lens:
Great performance in bright conditions for any sport or activity. Cuts down glare and enhances visibility. Highly recommended for springtime sight fishing.

Copper Lens:
Excellent choice for use in varied lighting conditions. This is a very high contrast lens that you will find soothing to the eye. Absorbs blue light and boosts contrast and sharpness.

Grey Lens:
This color lens is best for bluebird skies and bright sunny days.  Great for everyday use!  Transmits all colors with little distortion. Excellent all around color for fishing, golfing, driving or any outdoors activity.

Amber Lens:
Excellent low light use, such as heavy overcast conditions or fog. Best during first light and last light or other low light conditions. Best seller during winter months to provide UV protection and clarity at the same time!

Blue Mirrored Lens:
Grey with a blue mirror coating. Our most popular mirror lens. These lenses are great for any condition and everyday wear and are great for offshore anglers.

Silver Mirrored Lens:
Grey with a silver mirror coating.  These lenses will darken up the bright sun but still give you unbelievable clarity.

Previous Feedback

Comments: I liked them fine until one of the arms fell when they were in a pocket and I realized the arms just snap in without any retention screw. So now I have an expensive pair of 1-armed sunglasses.

From: Phil: Cedar City, UT 5/30/23

Comments: I've never written a review before but had to on these sunglasses! They changed my understanding of bass behavior as I could actually watch wolf pack forming and hunting. They are the best bang for the buck I've ever spent on eyewear for angling and I tell everyone in my circle to get a pair

From: George: Nj 5/25/23

Comments: Decent sunglasses, coated polycarbonate lenses so nothing really special ...you can get the same thing anywhere else for $30. Not worth $80, wait until the Christmas sale if you have to have them.

From: Unknown: 4/9/23

Comments: Ok, but not great. I appreciate the price and think that the lenses are very good for sight fishing. My biggest complaint is fogging, I have never had a pair of sunglasses fog as much as these do, to the point that I can't even use them during the summer. Also, not the most comfortable glasses, but some of that is personal. Nose piece isn't great. For less money you can get the native sightcaster, which I feel fits significantly better and I don't get the fogging issue with those.

From: Jonathan: PA 8/9/22

Comments: I've tried all other brands for fishing and these are hands down the best I've used. I prefer these lenses over glass due to safety when flipping large tungsten. They are inexpensive, cover your eyes, are light weight and fit perfect. Absolutely kills the blue light and you can see right through the water.

From: John: West Virginia 6/19/22

Comments: I own a few brands, and I must say I was very surprised with the TB glasses. Extremely good polarization, can see further into the water with these than I can with my Costa's. Well worth the price.

From: Ian: Louisville, KY 5/31/22

Comments: I own a pair of the grey lenses, and use them as fishing glasses as well as for every day wear. I find them very comfortable with great clarity. The "break away" frame has also saved them more than once from being utterly crushed. For the price I think these are a very competitive option.

From: Kyle: Madison, WI 5/31/22

Comments: Mixed feelings regarding these. To start with the good, I love the oversized frames as they make for a really nice fit. The lenses are crystal clear and the polarization helps significantly seeing down below the water. It really does make for a better sight fishing experience. Now, for the bad... sight fishing is all they're really good for, as they barely make for a decent pair of actual sunglasses. In bright light I still find myself reactively squinting from the sun. You can also feel the heat come through them (little to no thermal protection). Perhaps I'm a little spoiled in that regard coming from owning Nines who has incredible thermal protection. These are not a daily wear for me. They'll go right in to my fishing bag and only used when I plan to sight fish. If they can fix the those issues, they would have a much better product.

From: Zach: Unknown 1/27/22

Comments: Fantastic sunglasses, hands down. I fish south Florida, where we have some of the most consistent sunshine and hot weather year round in the US. I have used 2 pairs of costas previously and these new tactical bassin issue sunglasses have the same if not better quality of the costa sunglasses. Better priced, better company and to be honest, I like the width better than the costa pairs I had previously. Anyone complaining about these, is just plain picky .

From: J.D: Lake Worth, FL 4/5/21

Comments: I did want to purchase a few pairs and try them out with all the colors and all but just very leery when looking at the nose pads. When looking at these new sunglasses they look great until you see the nose pads. Those are the ones that we all complain about  at least up here on the Great Lakes. Nose pads that fall off after a while from sweat and cleaning the glasses. We wish they would make a good pair of sunglasses with frame molded nose pads. Then there would be no issues with annoying nose pads falling off with normal wear and cleaning.

From: Stacy: Ohio 3/25/21

Comments: These are WAY better than EagleEyes and in my opinion (20/20 vision), are Way better than Daiwa, Oakley, etc. I've always worn EagleEyes but they wear out after 1 season in the sun. If these don't wear out after 1 season - its a WIN. I will let you guys know in fall 2021.
